TS3474 my ipod just stopped playing and when i connect it to the computer/ itunes its not recognised. what shall i do??

My Ipod nano just stopped playing songs and when I connect it to the computer it is not recognised in I tunes. I have done the trouble shooting steps but with no luck. What do I do next??
