So, let's say you prefer Windows for your own reasons, and you have a modern monitor with a high pixel count. So, you turn up the DPI to make things easier to read. And then you launch iTunes, because you're, despite preferring Windows on the desktop, happen to prefer iPhones and iPads.
The whole program is blurry unless you disable high DPI for that program, and even then the text becomes too large for the area it's bound to. The solution?

You literally have to degrade the experience for the rest of the operating system in order to stop this bug from happening.
This is not a solution. This is Apple Developers saying "turn off that new innovative feature, you don't need it". How un-apple is that? There are no DPI-related problems in any of the OS X versions of iTunes and I can't imagine it would take a ton of effort to add in like native Windows programs have, especially when you consider the bottomless revenue Apple generates from the Windows iTunes community.
So I guess I'd like to submit a bug you could file under "developer attitude/mindset". I'm not sure that the behavior on this stance accurately represents Apple philosophy.

Support for High-DPI screens Windows

This was posted two months ago by someone else, but I feel that it is too important to be ignored. I have a QHD resolution Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop, and I use Spotify almost constantly. However, I almost never use the desktop app; with DPI scaling, the scaling is fine, but the resolution is horrrible. With my display, I would hope for 1080p resolution (at least), but apparently it will never happen. My question is: is it possible for the Spotify developers to create a Windows program with high DPI support? Or maybe a Windows 8 app? Pretty please?

I guess you are talking about this idea, I do agree that this idea is very important.
As soon as an idea reaches 100 kudos it will reach the spotify team and they will change the status. To learn more about the processing of ideas read this post "How your feedback reaches Spotify"

Is there a reason for Windows iTunes to be listed before Mac?

This is a little thing, but it's rather annoying to me.
Why does the forum for iTunes for Windows come before the forum for Mac users? I have to scroll down to get to the Mac forum. Despite the obvious of the forums being on Apple's site even alphabetically M comes before W. Every where else on the web Mac users are treated like second class citizens even if we're considered at all. It's like being dissed in your own home.
Am I missing something like Windows users can't figure out how to scroll down and post in the Mac forums if the Mac forums come first?

I still don't like it. What should happen is anyone posting with IE for PC should be given a special java prompt (like the ones Mac users get elsewhere telling them the site won't work with non-MS-Monopoly browsers) saying

IPhoto Control Panel for Windows/iTunes

Hey folks,
Unfortunately iPhoto hasn't worked too well for me since beginning to use it. I upgraded to Mountain Lion and the latest version of iPhoto and the problems persist.
Basically I import photos and then go to create new Photo Stream albums. That works, but the photos just don't upload into the folders. It's like the upload stops, but there is no error message, no codes, etc.
I am looking for advice on the following:
1. Any ideas on the upload problems?
2. I saw a link the other day that led to iPhoto Control Panel for iTunes, or something similar that looked like it could be run on Windows. Anyone know if there is iPhoto or any type of plug-in or application for Windows? If so, where do I find it?

ITunes 7 for Windows: iTunes could not contact the iPod software update...

Please help: Cannot update iPod though it says one is available.
I receive the following alert message:

I am connected and am even able to purchase songs on through iTunes.

I had a similar problem and your link helped me to solve the problem. Recently I changed my ethernet network card and since then my itunes worked strangely: itunes store worked, podcasts worked, mini-store doesn't, ipod update doesn't and diagnostics says that I had no Internet connection. Attached you can see the report.
It's weired that itunes is based in LAN Connections for sometinhgs and not for the others. Crazy!

ITunes COM API for Windows - iTunes 7.7 broken!

I use the iTunes COM API for Windows to control iTunes as part of a program which helps users create audiobooks.
Version 7.7.0.43 of iTunes breaks this software. So far as I can determine, the iTunes.ConvertTracks2 and iTunes.ConvertFiles2 routines are now broken, in that they no longer return a reference to the converted tracks.
Is this a bug on Apple's part, or is it a fundamental change? The COM API documentation describes the earlier behavior, which makes sense.

I'm seeing the exact same behaviour in my application calling the COM API from Perl. No track reference can be obtained after ConvertTracks2 completes.

I'm on iTunes 11.0.0.63 for Windows. iTunes used to display the total number of songs in my library, along with total playtime and memory footprint, at the bottom of the window. How can I make it display this information like it used to?

Ctrl / or View > Show Status Bar should do it.
Weirdly having turned mine on the menu is not there to hide it again and the shortcut doesn't work.

Trouble converting Mac Quicktime audio files for Windows ITunes

I tried convereting them to AAC files on the import. They seemed to "play" but there was no audio. I then did MP3 conversion and got MPEG files with the same results. Grateful for any help.

quicktime files themselves are compatible between OSs. Unless you are trying to read a Mac formatted disc with a Windows machine. try burning to CD the reading with other system.

I have a suggestion for Windows iTunes. Make a Widget for it.

Make a Widget that displays the lyrics to songs in a streaming fashion.
Build it into iTunes.
It you want to get fancy, you can have a aero effect in the background of the streaming lyrics.
Where there can be video clips, or slideshows as a transparent background on the widget that's streaming the lyrics.
If you want to get fancier than that.
You can make it screen size,
If you want to get fancier that that.
Make it so that other people can create transparent backgrounds that can be added to a library, and upload them so iTunes users can access them easily using advanced search options.

The best way to submit a suggestion to Apple is through the iTunes feedback page. It'll be more likely to get to the appropriate people within Apple that way.

Duplicate calendars using Outlook for WINDOWS & iTunes

I sync my iphone at home with Outlook 2003 and at work with Outlook 2007. Hence, I get 1 - 2 extra calendars, each time I sync.

What type of email account do you use (POP, IMAP, MAPI or Exchange)?
There are lots of reasons which might cause duplicate email items in Outlook. You can refer to the article below, it has listed the most common cause out there. You can work your way down to check if anything works for you:
Check if you have "Leave copy of message on server" checked.
Check for duplicate mail accounts.

Hi, Spotify.I recently upgraded to windows 10 and was wondering when your application will stop looking muddy on the latest version of windows? Like:
To have it look ok I'm forced to setup compatibility settings (come on guys. you keep updating your app every week or so!?).
I mean it is not like the next version of windows dropped from the sky? And no, my display is setup correctly with the native resolution, no custom dpi scaling whatever.
Or perhaps you should switch UI frameworks...?

Installed 8.0.1.11 for windows and lost space to "other"

I installed 8.0.1.11 for windows. iTunes then spent a few hours updating my library. When I synced (checked tunes, I don't do manual) my 80gb Classic (which was 100mb from full), about half of my music was removed and then it started to reload. Somewhere along the way my "other" went from being around 500mb to 13gb, and my music no longer all fits. I can't figure what the "other" is. My music/photo/etc capacity is down to around 61gb. I've downloaded and installed 8.0.2.20 but no change.
Can I reload an earlier version? Has this happened to anyone else? I have no video, no podcast subs, just music and a few pics.

In normal usage, "Other" can be Album Artwork, Notes, Contacts, Firmware etc. or (and this doesn't apply to the iPod Touch or iPhone which don't have the option to enabled for disk use), files that are on there if you are using the iPod as a removable storage device.
If Other is being incorrectly reported then try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes

Firefox ignores Windows 8's compatability setting for high dpi screens.

I recently tried the Windows 8.1 Preview, but then reset my machine to Windows 8 again.
Before this, the first time I installed Firefox, it ran at a low resolution, so all the toolbars and content appeared huge and blurry. I fixed this with the Windows 8 compatibility setting disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
After resetting the machine, and installing Firefox again, it was back to being blurry, so I changed the compatibility setting again, but this time, nothing happened. Even with the setting on, Firefox ignores it. Every other program with this setting works fine, and Firefox worked fine the last time around.
I was advised in the Windows support forums to ask the question here.

You can modify the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx and increase or decrease the value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of fonts and other elements in Firefox.
*The layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely (resolution 0.1 or 0.05).
*Change the default value -1 to 1 to make it work like in previous Firefox versions (100%)
Start with a value of 1 and adjust this value with 0.1 steps or 0.05 for finer adjustments.
*Use values between 1.0 and about 0.5 to reduce elements in size (do NOT go all the way to 0.05!)
*Use values greater than 1.0 to magnify and make elements larger (percentage divided by DPI, % / DPI).
