TS3581 Iphone 4 wont discover bluetooth devices ie. my car

Out of the blue my iphone 4 has stopped connecting with bluetooth devices.  I removed my car builtin bluetooth out of my phone and took my phone out of the car's system.  It was synced to the car's system but just stopped working.  Car is brand new 2013 Ford Explorer & I'm sure it's not the car.  I've tried to add the phone but it just spins and says discoverable but does nothing.  This is why I'm sure it's the phone!  It won't discover any bluetooth device. I have shut off my phone, reset my phone, made sure my phone was charged, deleted things that could be taking up to much memory etc.  My phone software is current @ iOS 6.1.3
Please help!!!!

Unless you have a plan with AT&T and are attempting to tether your phone with your laptop, there is no other reason to pair via BT with your laptop.

  • How do I connect my iPhone 4S to Bluetooth device in our car?

My iPhone 4swill not connect to our car's Bluetooth. We have tried all sorts of online help. Nothing works. Please help. We had no trouble doing so with our "dumb phone".

Depending on the age of your car, it might be running a version of Bluetooth that's fine with your "dumb phone" but doesn't play well with smartphones. I have a 2013 car with Bluetooth that basically knows everything on my iPhone, because the software engineers at the car company set it up that way.
Your expectation that Apple is supposed to manufacture an iPhone to work with every car and every car company's software is not reasonable. Maybe you have to take your car to the dealer to update its software so it will work with an advanced product like the iPhone.

  • IPhone 4S bluetooth not discovering bluetooth devices

My iPhone 4S bluetooth is not discovering bluetooth devices, specifically my new Platronics Voyager Pro HD headset which worked just fine with the iPhone 4 even after the recent software upgrade.  I noticed that others are having bluetooth discovery issues as well.  Will Apple be addressing this problem with a software fix or is this a hardware problem?

Nevermind!  It always helps to re-read the Platronics - how to pair your device instructions.  DUH!!!!

  • Iphone4 is not discovering bluetooth devices

My Iphone4 will not discover any bluetooth devices. It used to connect to my car other iphones but now it wont. Ive updated to IOS5.1, I've reset, restored, tried various things recommended by O2 and Apple support and finally the Apple store replaced my phone but I still cannot connecting to any bluetooth devices. My husband who has exactly the same Iphone can connect to all our bluetooth devices and I suspect its some setting that I need to change.
    Please help!

You probably need to delete the pairings and re-pair the devices. The device you want to pair with must be in discoverable mode. Consult the manual for the device to find out how to do this.

  • Discovering bluetooth devices

My Iphone 5 is not discovering any bluetooth devices.

I am having this issue too - the bluetooth in my mazda 3 and it won't even "discover" my old iphone 4S. All items are set to discoverable. But they can't even pick up my 5S. Frustrated as I am not tech savvy enough to know what to do next.

  • Can an iphone "unforget" a bluetooth device

Since I've installed the new phone OS, my 32 GB iphone (OS 4.0.1) refuses to connect to my Plantronics Discovery 975 headset. While trying to sort out the problem (which obviously hasn't been solved yet) I told my iPhone to forget the device. How can you get the phone to "unforget" the device and see my bluetooth headset?

You need to put the Plantronics back into discovery mode:

"Press and hold the call control button until the
    indicator flashes red/white"

  • My ipod wont discover any device. HELP!

I read on twitter that if you microwave your iPhone/iPod for a min it will charge fully so i decided to try it...i foolishly microwaved my ipod for 5 secs but i have a screen guard and i started smelling smoke so when i checked nothing was wrong with the iPod itself only a smoke like scent on the screen guard. Nxt morning i tried connecting to wifi bt it wont even discover it(i think its the  microwave thingy that caused it), yet every other device in my house does. I tried bluetooth....same thing and im really scared... Does any one know what i can do? and if the microwave thing is real?

Someone else posted today about micrwaving their iPod and they broke it.
Microwaves imparts energy to the iPod and can damage it.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will likely exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $149

  • Iphone 3GS with bluetooth connection with Audi car kit

I connected my iphone 3GS to my Audi car system through bluetooth connection. The Audi system recognizes the iphone and his address phone and all works well.
The issue comes when I disconnect the iphone from the car kit. After, even someone calls me, the call ringtone rings only two times and after switches off during the incoming call. This issue is random, sometimes the alarm rings well, sometimes not by working in the way described above. Someone has the same issue and knows how solve it? Is an issue linked to hw or only sw?
    thanks

    Hi.,
Can I check with you if you have this problem..
I assume you have paired the iPhone 3GS to the Audi carkit.
First, play something on the iPod.
Then go to the Bluetooth settings page where you can see all the paired devices.
after that, make a connection to the carkit.
Is there any stuttering or audio breaking you hear from the carkit?
I have this problem with my iTech BluebandR headset and iSkin Cerulean RX. I only found this problem with iPhone 3GS but it worked fine with 3G.
