TS3581 Transfering contacts to in car phone book via bluetooth

Hi I have recently bought the new nissan pulsar and its intergrated voice dialling only works through the cars phonebook.
Problem is I cant find how to transfer contacts from my iPhone 4S to the car.  I have the menu open and ready on the car but can not find the option on my phone to transfer via blue tooth.  This is a pretty standard feature on most cars these days so you would think you could do it with an iPhone.
Any suggestions/help?

The iPhone only supports PBAP(Phone Book Access Profile) for this. Does your vehivle support PBAP?

  • Transfering Phone Book via Bluetooth

Hello,  unfortunately the USB port of my 8330 Curve has broken and I do not have a backup of my contact list - over 100, not sure why I can't retrieve the back up, but my question is....  Can I not transfer from one phone to the other via bluetooth and if so, could someone please help me.  Thank you so very much!

You can connect your device via Bluetooth with Desktop Manager and have backup of your device. The transfer of address book via Bluetooth is not available.

  • Phone book via bluetooth

This Forum stuff is new to me, so not sure i'm doing this correctly. I have just bought a 3G i-phone. When i bluetooth it to my car (Audi A6) the phone works fine (handsfree etc) but i cannot access my phone book via the car system. Is this a car problem, phone problem, or a me problem? Help please!

As others have posted, it seems that the iPhone (both original and 3G models) only officially supports the Hands-Free Profile (HFP) and Headset Profile (HSP) hence the phonebook and other problems.
However, I also had a first generation iPhone and it worked perfectly with my 2007 A6 Allroad ... full access to phonebook, recent calls, missed calls ... the whole nine yards.
I have the same problem as you with the 'new and improved' iPhone 3G. I can pair from the phone to the car and get a very basic functionality (i.e. no phonebook or call register). If I recall correctly, you need to initiate the pairing the other way round ... i.e. starting from the car. When successful the phonebook is copied as part of the initial pairing. I can't get this part to work for me as the iphone is invisible to the Audi even though the iphone says it is 'discoverable'.
Applecare will just give you the standard line about not being able guarantee to support every phone out there.
If the 3G is working with other car makes (BMW and the like ...) then it might be an Audi problem. They seem to have created a workaround for the original iPhone's shortcomings so let's hope the can do it again for the 3G

  • How to copy phone book via Bluetooth to a G35

I have paired my 3G with my car (Infinity G35 2008) and it works fine. But I am unable to download the phone book. I get a message in the car that says if needed enter the 1234 passkey, but that never happens on the phone. 30 minutes later still on the same screen.
    Any clues?

Blame Apple about that. The Bluetooth in iPhone is crippled to headset only. Make me think that iPhone 3G is like previous Verizon phones with all Bluetooth feature capped. I suggest you to send a feedback to Apple about that particular problem.

  • Importing contacts from Passport to car phone book

My Passport is great but I can't figure out how to import my contacts into the audio system's phone book in my Mercedes. My car manual says that my"external Bluetooth phone must be able to send vCards via blueltooth" to be able to import the contacts and that I should refer to the operating instruction of the mobile phone. I can't see any reference to this. Hoping someone can help.

  • Help with transferring Contracts from iPhone 4 to my car Phone Book

I have a new Toyota 2010 Highland Hybrid. I successfully connected my iPhone 4 to the car's bluetooth ~ i receive calls. I attempted to 'transfer' my contacts from my iPhone to the car's bluetooth Phone Book, but have not been successful.
HELP! has anybody been successful, and if so, what do I need to do.

It doesn't work in all cars. So, it may not in your Toyota. I have a Mercedes C300 (2010) and while the Bluetooth connection is terrific, my contacts don't transfer to the C300. If I had the upgraded Command system in my Mercedes, my contacts would transfer. So, you should check with Toyota.

  • Transfered contacts not appearing in address book.

Verizon Wireless transfered the contacts from my old phone to my new BB8330.  The contacts are not appearing in the business or personal folder.  Previous numbers I had dialed that were in my old contacts now have the contact name attached and when I receive a call from a contact the contact name and number appears!  The same thing is true with voice activated dialing,  contact names will appear that I cannot find in the address book.  It seems that the contacts transfered but I cannot find them.  I read in the technical forum that the contacts could be in the sim card, but I don't believe my phone has a sim card.  Help!

    Welcme to the Frums!
Go to your address book - PRESS MENU KEY - FILTER and uncheck any boxes that are checked -
    See if that helps!

  • Contacts issues - send contacts to at&t phone book or sim card? and un able to unsync email contact list with phone contact list

I have had several issues with my contacts on this phone. I cannot figure out how to send my contacts to the at&t phone book or to my sim card. The options/menu button in contacts is completely useless. It should give me the option on the sim card to transfer contacts form one list to another. I have already written on another forum about the contact list not letting me unsync one of my email contact lists and how I have 3 copies of all of my contacts because my email contacts are mixed in with my phone contacts.
BB really needs to fix this issue with the contact list because it is beyond frustrating. I even downloaded the new BB software today and it still hasn't been fixed.

OK...so this post is strictly about wanting to send your contacts to the SIM. That capability is one at a time only. And there's a reason for that.
The BB Address Book is robust, allowing you to have one name with multiple phone numbers and addresses. The SIM phonebook, on the other hand, is much less capable...if, for instance, you have one contact with three phone numbers in your BB Address Book, the SIM phonebook would require three separate entries to contain the same data (with the obvious duplication of the name on three separate records).
So, I must ask...why on earth do you want to send your contacts to your SIM? There are much better methods for moving your contacts from the BB to somewhere else...

  • Sycing Iphone contacts to my car's board computer (bluetooth)

    Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to sync the Iphone contacts to my car and to generate calls from the car's interface using contacts instead of manually typing the whole number.
Currently I can use only the basic functions via bluetooth: to pickup and generate calls (typing in the whole number, which I usually don't remember)
Is it an Iphone issue or does it depend on the car and its bluetooth/board computer?
    Message was edited by: Zstas

I`ve got a Qashqai and my contacts does not get transferred. I think this is due to that my car expects that the transfer should be started manually, while the Iphone starts transferring automatically, and then my car is not in a "receiving state" when the transfer starts. Either I need some upgrade for my cars Bluetooth, or I need a new application for my Iphone.
I`ve had many other phones that had the manually transfer ability, and that worked well.

  • N95 8GB copying phone book via blue tooth

I have just aquired a secondhand N95 8GB and I am having trouble transfering my phone book to my cars hands free via blue tooth.  Can anybody help me.  Also with regard to the camera is there anyother button apart from the one on the side that can be used to capture the picture. I already use the scroll buttons for volume and zoom.
Is there a problem with the slide as mine seems very loose, can adjustments be made to the slide? Cheers
    Solved!

    Hi aggie2347
    1) More details of vehicle/kit to which you are trying to transfer phonebook needed.
    2) Third party application such as VirtualKey needed to re-assign keys
    3) Loose slide was a feature of early N95 to varying degrees, there have been self help fixes posted but it is against this forum's rules to publish disassembly instructions unfortunately.

  • Want to make phone calls via bluetooth on my iPhone from iPad

I can link my Garmin GPS to my iPhone via Bluetooth and make or receive phone calls.
I would like an iPas app that provides the sametype functionality including:
    Make calls
    Receive calls
    Look uphone numbers
Is this possible?  Using what app?

There are a couple of Apps out there that will allow you to use a Google Voice phone number to make and recieve calls via the iPad. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. If you are trying to replicate the Garmin / iPhone setup I don't think that is possible.
Google Voice  setup - gvconnect and talkatone. (wifi)
Skype - I think that you can make phone calls via Skype and Wifi.
I don't have a clue as if it is possible to make a phone call over 3G via the iPad.

  • Has anyone noticed problems with loading contacts into car phone books after updating to ios6?

My iPhone 4S will now load onlycontacts listed in my Favorites.  Previously it loaded everyone in my contacts list.  Since I haven't changed vehicles nor phone, I can only assume its a software issue.  Unfortunately since I chose replace when giving my car directions I lost all the contacts previously loaded.
