TS3581 What sounds does the Iphone 4 render through it's dock connection ?

Hey guys,
i want to connect my I4 to my car's sound sistem through a connects2 interface(cd changer emulator) and i wanted to know if it will be able to play sounds (navigation, games, apps) or just music from the Ipod player?
The connects2 interface is perfecty compatible with the iphone and ipod and can also offer some control with the car's original HU controls. (pause, ffw etc.)
Any thoughts are welcomed.
Thanks.

Not completely. There are 2 speakers on the iPhone, one for holding to your ear, and one for use as a speakerphone. If it's the one for holding to your ear did you remove the protective plastic film on the front of the phone that protects the phone during shipping?

At what voltage does the iPhone 5 need to charge?

When it gets low, typically at about 10% you get a prompt.  It is a good idea to let it go completely flat once a month

  • What time does the iphone 5 arrive at homes?

So I've preordered the iPhone 5 through apple. September 21st happens to be a Friday and I have class that day. Does anyone know what time Fedex typically deliver the phone? I would rather prefer if I not have my phone stolen. Thanks in advance guys!

You have a couple of options.  You can call FedEx the day before and get a general idea as to when they deliver in your neighborhood.  You can also go online and print out a form that authorizes FedEx to leave it without a signature.  Do NOT do this unless packages are safe being left at your house as if it is stolen, neither Apple nor FedEx is responsible.  Depending on where you live, you can sometimes pick it up at FedEx that night.

  • What encryption does the iphone 3gs/3g support?

There no mention of what WLAN encryption is supported.
Ie: WPA, WPA2, 64 bit WEP, or 128 bit WEP.
    What does the iphone support?

It definitely supports WPA2, because that's what I use on my home wi-fi network, and I'm not interested in anything less secure.

  • What provisions does the iPhone make to save battery, when the level drops?

When I get the warning about my battery dropping under 20%, does the iPhone actually make smart provisions to keep it going for as long as possible?
For example by reducing screen brightness, stopping push email, email checks, killing background activity and scaling other services.
If it does not already do this by default, and option for this to happen would be a welcome edition to eek out as much "emergency use" as possible.

No, it just warns you. It's then up to you to take steps you deem appropriate to conserve your power, or connect to a power source.
Steps to conserve power can be found here:

  • By what methood does the iPhone sort photos in the Photo Library?

I would like to have all of our family photos get sorted chronologically in the Photo Library on the iPhone. However, much of our photos are from scans so they have the scanned time in the time stamp as opposed to when they were actually taken. If I manually put the time in iPhoto will that affect how the iPhone Photo Library sorts the photos? The iPhone doesn't appear to sort by name, so a method of renaming photos beginning with the date (YearMonthDay - 19920127) probably would not affect how the iPhone Photo Library sort them. Is there a way to do this?

OK yes Loading apps are faster...But for some reason 4 got latency and lag once in a while compared to the 3GS...its not a zippy...its wierd to explain...but theres a lot of post about it here.
Im guessing the A4 chip is not 1GHz since performance is not that big of a difference compared to the 3GS, Where as the 3GS was big improvement from the 3g and thats only less than 200MHz difference.

  • Zen xtra - what sound does the alarm ma

I've tried setting the alarm with headphones on, sound turned up 3/4, and watching the clock tick down to alarm time, but I don't get any sound through the phones. :robotindifferent:
Is there a setting I forgot to modify? :robottongue:
Is the alarm a visual alarm instead of an auditory one? :robottongue:
I certainly did not see anything on the screen that could be interpreted as an alarm event at T-minus zero seconds. :robotsurprised:

    The "alarm" is really just a feature that will turn on the device at the time you set it. The only way you could consider it an alarm is if you do the following (I just tried it on mine);
Set the alarm to on (Will have little lines extending from the bell icon when set on)
Set the time you want the alarm to go off
Enqeue the music you want to wake up to. (Will appear in the "selected music" section)
Press the play/pause button to start it playing
With the music playing, hold the power button to turn off the player.
The Xtra will turn on at the time you specified, and the volume and track playing will be where you left it at.

  • What frequency does the iPhone 4 actualy run?

    OK by comparison...
    iPhone and iPhone 3G (ARM 11 - 412MHz, 128MB Ram)
    iPhone 3GS (ARM CortexA8 - 600MHz, 256MB Ram)
Performance on 3GS is significantly faster than original or 3G...
    iPhone 3GS (ARM CortexA8 - 600MHz, 256MB Ram)
    iPhone 4 (A4 - modified ARM CortexA8 - 1GHz?, 512MB Ram)
Performance of the 4 compared to 3GS not that noticable, In a lot of ways 3GS is smooth an more fluid.
could the performance hit be the retina display?

  • What time does the IPhone 4S preorder start?

I live in California (pst) and wanted to know if anyone knows when the preorder will be available online, as well as if the start time is east or west coast time.

This has been asked several times.  Look to your right under "More Like This" ---->

Does anyone know if my G3S Iphone will sync Itunes on my MAC Power PC G4, OSI0.4.11?  If it will, what operting system does the Iphone need?

My apologies, I read your post the wrong way. I see now that the original poster was confused about the specs and you were simply responding with the appropriate info.
I've gotten defensive after reading the forums. The forums are full of posters just looking to prove someone wrong or stupid, rather than being helpful. I shouldn't have assumed you were one of those people. Sorry.
I did my homework and discovered that my PowerPC will run Leopard. It can be purchased for $129 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. This is much cheaper than replacing my laptop.
I hope to upgrade my Mac soon, though! Can't believe this thing is still ticking. I love Apple.

  • What sort of Wireless Data Security does the iPhone have/use?

During transmission of data, is it encrypted? I'm aware that the BlackBerry Enterprise version uses AES to secure data during transmission. Does the iPhone use this as well, or another standard? If so, is this feature included on all iPhone models/classes? I'm not sure if the iPhone for business is tangibly different than the iPhone sold to non-business individuals/families - or if the AT&T phone plan is the only thing which differs.
Thanks to anyone who addresses my questions regarding security.
    Jimixsix

Keep in mind that any phone can be set up to get email without any kind of data security. The Blackberry can bet set up to do POP, SMTP, etc. over an un-encrypted link. In these cases there is no AES used.
The BBs encryption is only between the handset and BES or BIS server. Although the BB does encrypt data on the phone, this is only as effective as the PIN - if the phone is unlocked all data is available.
The iPhone defaults to using SSL for encryption of data on the wire, but this can be turned off. The phone does NOT encrypt the data stored on it, but incorrect PIN attempts can wipe the phone if configured that way.
Keep in mind that many of the Benefits of a Blackberry require the BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) at your organization. Without one, you have no Push email. You have to resort to Blackberry Internet Server (BIS) where you store your credentials on the RIM server and it screen scrapes Outlook Web Access or pulls from POP accounts. You may get AES encryption between handset and server, but you have given up your account credentials to who knows what.
