I have purchased a tv series and cannot get it to play

Where are you trying to access it from? If under the TV Shows icon you will be accessing the cloud. Ensure you are under the Computers icon.
If you are in the right spot and experiencing issues make sure all content is fully loaded on your iMac. If it is then it is a problem with the local network. Try ethernet if on wifi. Make sure router is up to date, reboot ATV and router. Check istumbler.net to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise.

You can remove the Airplay password from the Settings menu on your AppleTV.

Disabled account so now I can't play the music purchased on that account

My dad got a virus on his computer so Apple disabled his account. I bought hundreds of dollars worth of music on his account. I bought a new MacBook Pro and loaded my music onto the new computer, but when I try to play the music I bought on his account it tells me to authorize the computer using his account. I try to do that, but it says his account is disabled and I can't authorize the computer on his account. I authorized it using my account, but I still can't play the music purchased on his account from a different computer.

Why did Apple disable the iTunes Store account? Did you ask them to do it?
You must have asked them to do so as they would have no way of doing this automatically because your PC had a virus.
If the account has been disabled how do you then expect to be able to log in to it?
Purchases are made by a specific account, so it makes sense that your account will not let you play the music it did not purchase.
Ask Apple to enable the account, as I can see no reason for it to be disabled at all. Unless you can provide a more meaningful explanation as to why and how it was disabled.

I can't play my burned purchased CD's

I have purchased over 60 songs from iTunes and I can't burn any of them. It shows them as burning and I can play it on my computer but I can't play it on any other CD playing device. I tried burning CD's with songs that weren't downloaded and it won't work. Please Help!!

When we burned a CD it showed the progress, but then when we looked at it in windows explorer it went straight to iTunes and it showed it was playing but there was no sound.

Can't Play Songs I Purchased

Hi guys,
A long time ago I purchased songs on iTunes with an old Apple ID. Then I bought a new computer, transferred the songs I purchased and I was able to play them (I don't know what I did because I already had my new apple ID at this time). I recently formatted my laptop, put my music back and when I try to listen to my songs I purchased a while ago, a window pops up asking me to identify myself. The problem is it shows my old Apple ID that does not exist anymore. I click "Forgot Password" then it takes me to the Apple website, says that this Apple ID expired and ask me to put the new one. I do, it works. But back into iTunes, I still can't play those songs cause it will ask me to authorize my computer to play them, again.
What can I do?

TS2972 Can't play TV shows with Home Sharing

I have home sharing turned on on both my home computer (a PC) and my Mac. When I try to play music, it works just fine, but when I try to play TV shows, all I get is a black screen. Help!

We are having this exact same problem - started happening after we did the software update tonight. Have tried restarting, resetting, and all the other obvious tricks. It seemed to work for a minute when we used the iPad ATV remote, but that stopped working after a couple of minutes too. We can play previews, and iTunes library stuff, but not movies or TV shows purchased via the ATV. We've got a new episode of game of thrones sitting there that we can't play - very frustrating!

I purchased several tv shows and am unable to locate them. They no longer show in downloads. I have checked the video app and rebooted. I'm pretty sure they have downloaded because my available storage has decreased. Currently traveling and do not have access to my computer.

Double tap the home button and all of your recent apps will be shown across the bottom of the iPad. If you tap and hold down on one of the icons they all begin to wiggle. There will be a minus sign (-) in the upper left corner of each app icon. If you tap that minus sign that closes the App.
I have no idea if this will do any good at all, its just a theory that may lead to nothing. I just can't think of anything that is preventing the shows from showing up on your iPad. My thinking is that if you clear the iPads memory by closing the apps maybe they will turn up.
I checked on my iPad and apparently the only purchases that show up in the Purchased Tab in iTunes are songs. I have a purchased movie and a couple of TV shows on my iPad and they all appear in the videos app, in the search feature as well, but not in the purchased tab in iTunes. since you don't have access to your computer I am just trying to think of other ways that you can at least confirm the purchase and I've come to a dead end.
This is a quick edit ... I remember reading in another thread that you can to try downloading a free podcast to the iPad ... play the podcast and then see if the TV shows appear on your iPad. again - no clue if this will work but if it's a free podcast you have nothing to lose.

I can not find tv show purchased in my library

I can not find tv shows previously purchased in my library how do i get them back?

i have repeatedly done that. I get an error of "The disk can not be read from or written to". This has now happened on all TV downloads in the last two months. When i play on my IMac, they play fine. The same on my Apple TV.

Can't play my non purchased MP3s

I can not play or burn my imported MP3s in iTunes. Purchased titles do work though. Using latest versions of iTunes.
When I try to burn I get the message that the MP3s are not activated for this computer. But my computer is activated for playing purchased songs (and purchased songs do work).
How do I get my non-purchased, old, self generated MP3s activated again???

You cannot purchase shows through the ATV2 as you could with the original ATV. But you can still purchase them on your computer and watch them through the ATV2. All of my old content (except HD movie extras) works on the new ATV and well as the old ATV.

Can't see TV shows purchased from Music Store in Full Screen Mode

Prior to the release of iTunes 7.0, I had been purchasing episodes of LOST from the iTunes Music Store and watching the episodes on my Mac in Full Screen viewing mode.
Since downloading iTunes 7.0, I have been unable to watch any television shows purchased from the Music Store from that date forward in Full Screen mode. When I select iTunes>View>Full Screen I can hear the audio, but I cannot see the image. Instead, my monitor goes totally black. If I select iTunes>View>Fit to Screen, I am able to see the video, however, the video does not fill up my screen...instead, I have about two inches of desktop showing on either side of the image. Does anyone know how to solve this problem so that I can once again watch purchased television shows in Full Screen mode?
By the way, I am now running iTunes 7.0.2.

Alan, I just checked and I don't see a section for TV shows in the Canadian store. As the initial deal was made with ABC, I doubt that there is any content available yet for you. I do see the pixar section and the music video section, however.
Similarly, a visit to the Apple Canada site shows no mention of being able to download TV shows.
As with the music, it is going to take a separate lisence to bring TV content to each store. If and when that is going to happen, no one around here would be able to say.

Can't play iTunes songs purchased on my old computer

I moved all my files from my old laptop (before it crashed) onto an external HD, then moved all the files onto my new computer (iMac) but now I can't play the old songs I purchased when I had my old computer. I can't authorize them because my old email / Apple ID is invalid. These files were purchased 6 years ago, so is there any way I can fix this? I tried answering the security question for "Forgot Password" using my old email from 2004, but it's not working. I even tried using my old password (had it written down) but it's not recognized, so the files are useless at this point.
I tried researching the Support pages, but couldn't find anything.. Help?

1 - Reset Password at My Apple ID [Appleid.apple.com]
Reset Password - Found under Manage
Chose either [Email Authentication OR Secureity Questions]
[Email Authentication will only work IF you had/have a recovery email set up - Other wise hope you remember the answers to your questions]
2 - Contact AppleCare Account Secureity via Expresslane.apple.com

If you have already went and create a New Apple ID with your most recent Valid Email Address - you are not at all completely out of luck [Unless you are unable to reset your password for the Original Apple iD then you are.]
But can create another [Valid/bogus] email from a free domain.
Once get password reset for Old un-available Email Address Apple ID
Then you first want to edit the New Apple ID with the other new email
This frees up the email you want to use for your apple id
Sign into Older Apple ID edit with email you want to use.

Can't play TV shows on my video ipod. . .

Only had this awhile. In iTunes, I have TV Shows under library, but I can't find TV shows anywhere on my iPod. I looked through prefs and I can find music videos. I've tried creating a playlist, but the only place I can play movies that I bought at iTunes store is on my computer.
Any suggestions?

I looked through it, but ONLY TV shows aren't playing, nor will the TV Shows playlist copy to my 5th gen video iPod. Everything else from the iTunes Store (including music videos that came with CDs) is playing.

Can't play Daily Show videos in Safari or firefox

I try to turn the "Allow third-party..." setting to TRUE in the attached image but it doesn't seem to change. I wonder if this might be related to why I can't play these videos.
Any thoughts?

Since the those videos require Flash, try this.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab.
Select: Allow sites to save information on this computer
Then select the Advanced tab.
Select Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Now empty the Safari cache..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try a video.
