This question would appear to have nothing to do with Apple Remote Desktop, Apple's software for managing networked Macs, so this probably isn't the best place to ask this question. I'd suggest asking in the forum for your version of Mac OS X.
Please note that unless you own the complete rights to the music you used in the slide show - that is, you composed and performed it yourself, you didn't just buy the track on CD or from a download store - or you purchased the music from one of the "royalty free" services, then it would be a copyright violation and hence illegal to send that slideshow to others unless you remove the music track.

Yes, I believe you when you say you can only send messages to other Apple products. The iPad is not a telephone, and therefore, it cannot text message. It can only iMessage, which means it can send and receive messages to/from other Apple products if they are on WiFi or an iMessage capable cellular network.
Email, however, is a whole different category. I don't really think you can only exchange email with other Apple products only. Make sure you have correctly identified the symptoms.

you could also just cache your lookup table with something like Oracle Coherence and than try to ensure that all changes to the lookup go through Coherence, so that you won't need to do notification from the db up to the application. the application and the lookup data management tool would be using the data grid for management of the lookup table data, and the data grid (coherence) would persist the lookup data changes back to the db.

Found a good article explaning why the iPad doesn't send texts over iMessage the way you would think. Turns out that the iPad isn't a phone and doesn't use 3G or Wifi the same way a phone would so you can't really send texts from iMessage on your iPad the same way you can on your iPhone.

How can I import iphone contacts from a 32G iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.2 to another 32G iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1 (without updating its iOS)?
This is a weird question, I know.
Basically I have 2 iphones (iphone 4). One is running the newest iOS (7.1.2) and the other still has 5.1.1 (because it wasn't used or updated for a few years).
Now I need to start using the phone running the old iOS because the other one is worn down (very slow, tons of crashes, and unresponsive touchscreen) and I can't afford the 5c or 5s quite yet.
I have been backing up the current iOS phone to my MacBook Air and to iCloud but can't restore the old iOS phone without getting the new iOS which I am trying to avoid to prevent all the problems I've had with it.
So far I've been able to switch over successfully, EXCEPT for my contacts. I can't bring them down from the cloud without the same old forcing of the new iOS, and as far as I can see I can't bring them in via iTunes either. Please tell me there is a way to do this without manually retyping them all!

I have tried to send pictures to my boyfriends phone (he doesnt have an Iphone) and they wont complete the sending process. I have unlimited messaging with picture messaging as well so I know its not my provider. The cellular data option is on. My MMS and SMS options are on. I also can not receive the pictures he tries to send me. Can someone please help me figure out why this is happening and how I can fix it?

That's definitely strange, bigbadscharfy. We're here to help get all texts coming and going. Let's start w/ the basics! Have you checked under Settings>Messages> Is Send as SMS checked on? This can help send out messages as regular texts and not iMessages. Do you receive any error messages when the texts dont go out or receive?

How can I use iTunes purchased music on non PC devices?

I have an audio component that is a music server that is connected to my home audio system. The hard drive based music server has a front disc tray that you can use to rip CDs to its hard drive, but you can also copy music to it from a PC, as the server is connected to my home network.
How can I get music that I purchase in iTunes onto this server? The server only accepts MP3s, and is not compatable with ACC. And its a music server, not a true PC, so dont see anyway how I could "authorize" it.
Is there any way to get the ACC into MP3 format? Or if I burn the purchased music to CD, and then rip the CD back to a PC or the server itself, does it come back out as ACC again or MP3?
If anybody can be of any help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Burn the tracks out to an audio CD (make sure it's set to burn an audio CD, not a data CD, in the iTunes preferences). That CD can then be reimported as MP3.

and transfer ALL images thereto, from time to time (?)
- it would be helpful if syncing is also possible on the Album level ( via iTunes ??)
- OR: are the Albums strictly collections on the respective iOs - device, (and the Mac ?), eventually
containing different Photos (!), ie : Albums are on the device - level (?)

It is easier to answer specific question, when I know whch options you are having on your computers. I.e. I wondered if you would be able to use Shared PhotoStreams instead of My Photo Stream, but that would require MacOS X 10.9. at least, see: iCloud: Using and troubleshooting Shared Photo Streams

The Photostream "My Photo Stream" uses a buffer in iCloud: Each device will upload the most recent (last month) photos saved to the Camera Roll, if Photo Stream is enabled and any photo you share to the stream. The buffer in iCloud will only keep the photos for a month - it is meant as a streaming buffer and not as a storage. And the stream you are seeing on your devices is fed from this buffer. Depending on when you activate Photo Stream on the devices they will show different selections of photos - it depends on what is currently in iCloud. With IOS 7.0.4 you could also stream to Shared Streams, and they will keep all photos in iCloud, only you would need to upgrade.

Your Photostream is generated automatically from all photos saved to your camera roll, so if you keep all photos in your camera roll and save any new photos from the Photo Stream to your camera roll, they will all be backed up, inclding any videos in your camera roll. That is exactly, why I asked for your system versions: if you could create Shared Streams, you could use 100 separate streams just like albums, and all would be stored in iCloud.
But there is no way to structure "My Photo Stream".
But the iCloud backup of your devices will include all application data, so albums you define in the Photos app will also be included, only not the photos synced to your device using iTunes, unless you save them to the camera roll.

You can make your iCloud backup using Wi-Fi ( iCloud: Backup and restore overview), but you will have more control over it, when you create the backup using iTunes. And syncing using USB is faster than Wi-Fi.

It is recommended: the iCloud backup of your IOS devices will enable you to restore your devices directly from iCloud, but a separate backup in iTunes will make it possible to restore a new replacement device from the backup, if your iPad, iPhone will be stolen, lost, or defective. And you can access the iTunes backup even when the network is down, or there is a problem with your iCloud account.
iPhoto library: When you automatically import the photoStream into your iPhoto library on your Mac, any backup of your iPhoto library will be a backup of your Photo Stream photos as well. I'd create the albums in iPhoto on your Mac.

This is explaine d by the fact that "my Photo Stream" is not meant to be a storage, just a transient buffer. You have one month time to grab your photos from the stream, and then they will be removed, consider it to be a stream of photos that you are viewing from a narrow window. You are supposed to download the photos to your camera roll or to an event on your mac, as soon as you are seein it in the stream. After a month it will be gone.

You will need an app to do this, there are several on the App Store that can help (although most require you to use their own app to send the email.)

You can turn an address book group into a MailShot group quite quickly.
Try it on the App Store to see if it meets your needs

How can i send my SWF for others (without Flash) to open?

I have just finished making my interactive portfolio in Flash and after opening it in the SWF file it works perfectly. I now want to be able to E-Mail it to potential employers to see, but if they don't have Flash then they won't be able to open it with an SWF file. I tried setting the default program to open it with as Internet Explorer but have had all sorts of problems. Is there any easy way to be able to send them the file, and have them open it without having to sift through loads of unblock buttons or have the videos not play (two recent problem).

Your best bet is to place the swf on a web page on a server and simply send links to the web page. Having an online portfolio is often a must have for certain professions, such as web design and similar trades.
Emailing an swf file may hit a security wall on some servers. A potential employer may not appreciate the extra work they might have to follow thru with to deal with a file you send them if they do not have the software for viewing it on hand.
If you do email the swf file to anyone, then they need the Flash Player to be able to play the file. So you should probably include a link for them to the Adobe site where they can download a player that supports your file.

How can I configure radius to allow a non-windows device to authenticate with a certificate?

I currently have a 2008r2 server with NPS acting as a radius server for our wireless network. The existing rules are setup to allow access based on windows group membership. I need to get a wireless jetdirect connected to the wifi network.
If I create a certificate for this device with key usage settings for client auth / server auth, can it authenticate to radius with that cert?
How would I set up a NPS policy to allow this device, since it's not a domain member and not a member of the windows groups?

Yes, it’s possible but it’s a very manual process. I will give you the easy steps then the hard ones.
Easy(relative):
Using a domain joined machine, request a certificate from a template that allows the private key to be exported.
Export the cert with the private key
Import on all workstations/devices that require it.
Pros:
Relatively easy to create the cert and manage the account
Cons:
Single certificate used on multiple machines
Certificate does not accurately reflect the name of the device
Hard:
Create an account in AD
Issue a certificate from a template that allows the private key to be exported
Using name mappings, attach the certificate to the account
Create an SPN that matches the SAN on the certificate..i.e. if the SAN is computer.domain.com, you need to create a SPN on the account host/computer.domain.com
Install certificate on to target workstation/device
Pros:
Relatively, more secure than previous steps as you create a single account/certificate pair per device
Cons:
Not very manageable

Just click the button in the top right corner that looks like a pencil on a piece of paper make sure you are at the main I message screen were all the threads are listed.
If that's not the issue you can try:
1.hold the home and power button for 10-11 seconds
2. When the slide to power off comes up ignore that and keep holding home and power
3. The screen will go black and you will see an apple logo that's when you can let go of the home and power button
4. The. iPhone will come back on and you can try sending a message
If it still does not work
1. Go to settings> General> Reset> select "Reset All Settings" this will not erase any data on the device it will only reset the settings
2. After that try to send a message again
If that does not work you can try this
1. Plug your iPhone into iTunes and click your iPhone in iTunes
2. Then press backup iPhone
3. Then restore your iPhone this will erase everything and reinstall the operating system
4. Try to send a message and see if it sends
5. Then go back into iTunes and select restore from backup and select the backup you made earlier this will put all the data back on the device all apps will need to be re downloaded but app data will still be on the device. Pictures and messages. Will also be their.
If that did not solve your issue I would then go into the apple retail store

Ah, I should have made that clear. My domain didn't come from google. It was purchased at and is hosted at dreamhost, but I haven't used their email servers in years - I just route everything through gmail. I actually have a bunch of domains (with websites).
Gmail has an option that lets someone with custom domains send (and receive) email through gmail using the custom domain once Google confirms proper ownership of the domain (to prevent spammers and such). Gmail has a setting for "send email as" which allows gmail to be sent using a custom domain as the sender. I'm pretty sure Apple's old mobileme had this feature too, but I didn't use it.
