When I try to install apps to my iPad it keeps telling me it needs iOS 6 but when connect to iTunes it says it's up to date even when connected to a wifi......how do I upgrade when it says it's up to date????
If you have the iPad 1 it cannot be updated beyond iOS 5.1.1 so you as as up-to-date as you can be.
Check with the app developer to see if there are older versions of these apps which run on iOS 5.

Apps are registered to the Apple ID used to acquire them, whether free or paid apps, and this cannot be changed. To update an app acquired by a particular Apple ID requires the ID that acquired it. Apple will not combine Apple IDs either.
The only way to get an app into a new Apple ID is to abandon the app from the old ID and remove it from your computer and iOS devices. Then acquire the app with the new Apple ID. -

You don't. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them & cannot be transferred to another Apple ID. You need to purchase the app using your ID.

There is no featured tab in my iTunes store. . . and everywhere it shows me signed in. I had downloaded an app for my mother on HER ipad, and that is the only app I have done for her. It shows up on my phone, and now I cannot update any of my apps. I uninstalled that app on my phone, but when I want to update ones I have installed on my phone with my appleid, she keeps showing up.

Try contacting iTunes via email to check if there is an issue with the account. go to apple.com/support/itunes
Click on iTunes Store account and billing and select inquiries. On the right side click on "email us".
Before doing that trying viewing your account information first. Open the iTunes on you mac, look at the menu and select store and select view my account. Try removing the card (this is only applicable if you don't have a pending charges with iTunes) and hit done. Sign out, quit iTunes and sign back in and try updating the apps again. -
My Iphone has family emails that appear randomly when I try to update apps or generally have to log into my account. It comes up as my sister in laws address. She was once connected to our account when she got her phone at first. How can I remove? There are only two other email address's associated with my account and hers was never one of them! If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

Why can't I download apps I have to pay for on to my new iPad Mini. I have had an Apple id for my iPhone for years and have downloaded app to it, no problems. When I try to download apps to my new iPad Mini, it tells me my billing info has to be confirmed. After confirming with same info that is already there it tells me to contact support, no help up to this point.
Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.

It is the same app, based on name, pictures on app store and price ranges in Appshoper. I don't think I ever used my me @me.com account I setup with my iPad to purchase, I just checked and have no purchases from it. Laptop is old, so old I don't use it that often, but I will check.

I have reset my iPad, changed the date to a year ahead and put it back and have checked the restrictions.
None of this has helped, what can I do?
I can go to the iTunes app and it shows everything, it's only when I want to install or update an app.Some other things that you can try.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. But .... You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
Even though your Internet connection is working .... Sometimes rebooting your router can work for this. YMMV but it might be worth a try. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds, pliug it back in, let it start up completely and try again.
Or try this since you are running iOS 6 .....
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off. -

I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine. -

I checked. Niel is right. It is frustrating. I got an iPad when they first came out and within 3 years it couldn't be upgraded. I've still been using it happily, although this summer I got an iPad mini. I plan on passing it down to my daughter.
