I backed up my ipad to the cloud as it had a broken screen so I swaped it out for a new one and now I cant restore because the new Ipad has IOS 6 and my back up is 6.1! This is what I get for buying an Ipad twice in a week because of a broken screen? $500 the first buy and then another $299 plus tax for the swaped out one that I can't restore with my backup data.

I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

There's no way to "restore" your phone, but, you can login to iCloud.com, using your computer, locate your phone, then erase it.

Yes, we are talking about FCP X...this is the thing:
I worked on a project a few days ago and went to share - export movie.
Today, i opened the FCP again, to make some changes, and when i enter to the project, it shows me as one big clip.....i dont see it says compound clip....and i tried anyways pressing break appart clips...but nothing....could it be that i made it compound before exporting it..? if so how can i recover the un-compound version >?
I tried to import the saved .mov file, but it opens the same....as one long clip...

By third party I mean apps like Facely or other apps for facebook that weren't made by facebook.
Just search the App Store for facebook apps, then read the specs and see which ones may have a larger backwards compatibility that will work for your device.
If you can't find one you can still access facebook at www.facebook.com and use safari.

I synced my ipad to my itunes store on my computer and a bar showed up on the bottom of the screen showing how many gigabytes i was using. Now i cant click on the screen to move the app from itunes to my ipad for some reason, or my movies/ music for that matter either. The real reason i am doing this is because i accidently erased the app store and dont want to erase all the apps i already have on their. So if someone can help me get the app store or fix the syncing problem that would be great because i use it for school which requires certain app be installed. Please respond quickly!

So, my PowerMac came today, and I backed up my iTunes library, then (stupidly), deleted almost all my music off my iMac. So i go to do the back up, and it copies 70 or so songs then says "Attempting to copy to the disk "Mac Hard Drive" failed. This disk could not be read from or written to".
As you can imagine im quite flustered because thats basically all my music.......
It gets to song 69 out of 170 on the first cd. And like 90something out of 190 on the second, i havent tried the third.

So since i got my new Mac,
What should i do in order to use my iPod shuffle with my PowerMac?
Also, once i do get to use my shuffle with my PowerMac, i put all my songs on it in my own specific order and it takes me like an hour, but then when i disconnect it, then go to connect it again a few days later, iTunes changes the order of the songs. quite annoying.
Sorry to get off the topic here.
okay ONE more thing, my brother wanted my to install jaguar on his mac, and i copied all his music to an external firewire hard drive and after i installed jaguar it wont let me move the music because i dont have the privilages or something. but idc about that much as long as i get my solution to my backup problem

Yesterday it was working fine, this morning I tried to open cs6 and I get the message above. Tried to put the file back in from my laptop ( copied on a thumb drive ) and when I close all the windows the files does not show up again, and ps6 shows me that same message above. I use an iMac 27" computer. I installed a plugin ( WhiteWindowworkaround.plugin1_0_6.zip ) for correcting my cursor problem. PLEASE HELP ME.......

The first thing I would try would be to manually reset the preferences. If that fails, try uninstalling the plugin and see if the problem goes away.
In case you don't know how to reset:
Reset Preferences
1) Close the program and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Win)/Cmd+Option+Shift (Mac) during startup (not reversible)
or
2) Move the Folder. See:

It sounds as if it may have been hacked to unlock it and updating the iOS locks it back
to the original Carrier
Do you have any error messages ?
and have you tried a reset followed by a restore if reset made no difference
Is your iPhone actually a 3G if so it does not support above 4.2.1

As you've found out, Lion dropped support for PowerPC applications. What type of files are you trying to open? What PowerPC application are you using to try to work with them? Many have had Office 2004 fail to load after migrating to Lion.

Yes sometimes the backup will be corrupted and if you do not have another backup you will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

Sounds like your iPhone was hacked/jailbroken to be able to use a different carrier sim, now the IOS update locks the iPhone back to the previous carrier. BTW, Steve Jobs will never help someone with a hacked iPhone.

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes (similar to those above) and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if iTunes or one of the components won't install normally.
