Error 1015 means either you're trying to restore to an earlier iOS version, which is not supported, or you previously hacked the phone - jailbroken or iOS downgrade. In the later case, you can no longer restore or update.

Check for hardware issues

Error -1 indicates a serious hardware failure.
Try restoring the device again, try on a different computer. If the issue continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

after you have received the error message about the no authorization, run transaction SU53.
This transaction shows which authorization has failed last time.

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

The error is just a simple error message just like (1013) instead it says (1). The iPhone I am trying to activate has been activated before I just currently have no service and I think that activating it will solve the problem. Anything that was on the phone is already gone. You have no choice but to restore. If you were backing up and syncing the phone on a regular basis, you should be able to restore your backup with minimal data loss.

iTunes places the iPhone backup in the following location. Navigate there & delete everything in the backup folder, but not the folder itself. You will have to turn on "Show All Hidden Files & Folders" to see it:
