TS3694 hi i have iphone 4s, cannot update at all ever due to error 1638, computer says cannot contact update server, please help why is this and what do i do???

Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

If older photos are missing it may be because photo stream photos are only held in iCloud for 30 days. After that they are removed from iCloud but will remain (up to 1000 photos) on your device until deleted. Also, only photos taken after enabling photo stream are added to your photo stream, and only when the camera is closed, your device is connected to wifi and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.
To transfer the missing photos you can either create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself to it (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99), import the photos to your computer and sync them to your iPad, or use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your iPad over wifi. -
when i updated my iPhoto on my macbook my whole computer lost photos, music, documents ect, how do i fix this and get them all back?
Which os do you have? Which version of iPhoto did you update to? Did you check iPhoto's trash? Finder's trash? Did you repair permissions and restart your computer after updating?

I have been trying to access my icloud account in laptop with windows 7 operating, but I couldn't able to log in to icloud which show following error " icloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server".

But I can access my same icloud account in another laptop with windows xp operating.My recommendation is to download Apple’s Safari version 5.1.7 for Windows to access iCloud.com. It consistently works for me!!!! To make things easier with Safari, I made iCloud.com its Homepage. I’m using it to access iCloud.com from all of my PCs.
On my Windows 7 systems it appears that some add-ons are causing problems when you try to access iCloud.com with the 32-bit version of IE9, but the 64-bit version seems to work fine, more than likely because there are few add-ons that are 64-bit and the 64-bit version of IE9 can't be the default browser in Windows 7. -

Gmail email does not load into iCloud. Only your @me.com iCloud email will load into iCloud.

The add sign may be at the top or the bottom (plus sign).
