TS3694 i have a iphone 3g which is recovery mode with a error code 1015

Hi, I have my old iphone 3g whch was originally on the O2 network. I have a new iphone now, but I want to restore my old iphone 3G for my ypung son to use, however, when I try to restore to the original factory setting it comes up with an error code of 1015. Please can you help or advice me on how to rectify this?

Are you trying to downgrade iOS on your iPhone or did you previously jailbreak it?
Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state.

  • Iphone 5 stuck in recovery mode with an error 2001

My iPhone 5 is stuck in the recovery mode.  I have tried linking it up to iTunes by pressing the home key etc and managed to link it up but after resetting it to factory settings as asked and it removing software etc, it  just comes up with the error 2001. Please help!
It has not been dropped, near liquids or anything like that.
It just started doing it one day after putting it on charge.  It felt really hot when it was fully charged. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks for the help Lawrence.  I have tried that already but still not working.  Tried different USB port and cables and different computers.  No luck so far

I have an IPhone 4 which I just updated with the latest software, which put in it in Recovery Mode. It has the picture of the plug with ITunes, I downloaded it now its saying its in Recovery Mode, how do I save all of my previous data without Restoring?
I updated the phone before backing it up on iTunes, now the update wanted me to connect the phone with iTunes and it says the phones in recovery mode and it must be restored before its used with iTunes. I go to click restore and it says it will reset it to factory default and I'll lose all my current data. I have all my sons pictures and videos along with this notes. I can't lose all of this data! Please help!

You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod....

And now when i tried to resore it is showing me this error. Please suggest me some solution . it is a factory unlocked phone from unites states but now out of warrenty.

  • I have an iphone 5 permenantly in recovery mode,

i have replaced the battery for a genuine Apple item and now it is in recovery mode.
I have tried restoring via itunes about 8 times but still it in recovery mode.
Does any one have any ideas as how to get this problem fixed?

Apple does not sell parts, as such there is no source for "genuine Apple parts".
Purchase a replacement device as something has obviously been damaged in the "repair" process.

  • IPhone 4 stuck in recovery mode, wont restore - Error (9)

    Hey all,
At my wits end here, my phone froze on the train home tonight, rebooted it, and it came up with the connect to iTunes icon.
Looks like its in recovery mode and I cant get it out. Ive tried getting into DFU mode, different USB ports, different machines, different cables, re-installing iTunes AND RecBoot on Windows and OS X.
Is there ANYTHING else I can do?

Well, as a start, Recboot hosed the network database on your computer, which could be the problem. Especially if you had used it at some time in the past. Look in /etc/hosts, and if you see any lines containing "gs.apple.com" delete those lines.
From your profile you are also using a version of OS X that is not compatible with iTunes 10, which is required to update iPhones. You need OS X Leopard 10.5.8 as a minimum.
See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error9 for other tips. You could have a bad or dirty connector on the iPhone also. Try cleaning it with a soft, dry toothbrush.

    Thats okay
Are you using a Mac or PC? The step about ports, it not really relative to your issue (error 2001)
    Apple wrote (in TS1275)
(2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on) If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. Learn how to reset the SMC. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue continues, it may be related to conflicting security software.
So I would try an SMC reset if you are on a Mac. But mainly, try a different USB cable if you have one.

  • My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. Getting Error 37 from iTunes

My iPhone4 is stuck in recovery mode. When I try to restore it through iTunes I get the message that it couldn't be restored. It's either Error 37 or Error -1

    Hi again,
I tried that, changing the firewall settings, and I got the -1 Error message.
This problem began a few months ago.
My hard drive died on my laptop, and I got it replaced and reinstalled iTunes on it. At that time I had an iPhone3.
From then on, all of my music had glitches, quiet patches, and some tracks which would not work.
I took my phone back to my service provider, who replaced it with an iPhone 4.
When I set that up, I had the same problems with the music. I could download an album on the iPhone, and it would be fine, but when I sync the phone with the laptop the album becomes glitchy again.
Now it's stuck in recovery mode again.
