I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

No, you cannot downgrade your iOS device. That's not supported by Apple.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported, and likely has caused the problems you are experiencing.
You'll need to go elsewhere for support.

  • I need to Downgrade my iPhone 3G from iOS 4.0 back to 3.1.3

I've had the same problem as many iPhone customers, updating iTunes to newest version (9.2.0.61) and Upgrading my iPhone 3G to v. 4.0 from v 3.1.3.
iTunes successfully upgraded to iOS 4.0, but the Restore of my backup FAILED!!! OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER Again! I know for a fact that I tried to Restore my Backups from: AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup folder. At one time I had 14 backups and each 1 was 3.55GB. This is kind of interesting, because after my last backup just before the iOS 4.0 Upgrade, the backup was 3.55GB. After each failed Restore and then another backup, etc. *+each and every backup was 3.55GB+*.
Each time (over 25) I have to do a hard restart(see the USB Logo), install iOS 4.0 > Restore, which the progress bar goes about a quarter of an inch and then loops over and over, trying to Restore my phone. Just an attempted Restore takes at least 45 minutes! The time of any of the Restores I've tried, which are many and all take the same amount of time and are all 3.55GB.
I can't tell you how many migraines I've had over this B.S. or how many hours over the last 3+ weeks I've been trying to get my data back. I don't care about the pictures or the applications, cuz I can always get them. It's all the IMPORTANT Data I can't get back that I desperately NEED. OK, I'll quit complaining. Sorry! I had to get it off my chest. ;^\
I spent weeks on the phone with 2 different *+Apple Senior Advisor's+*, who in turn submitted a number of Tickets to the *+Apple Engineers+*.
After a few weeks of phone calls back and forth, I've spent untold hours off the phone trying to get my NOTES, CALENDER, CONTACTS, and AUDIO RECORDINGS, I've saved for the last 2 years, without any good results.
The last reply from an Apple Engineer, was to try something I had already tried and the other answer was to *+TRY 3rd. Party Apps & Suggestions+*.
OK, one of the things I did was to download some files, such as:
    1) iPhone1,23.1.3_7E18Restore.ipsw (Apple Device Software Update File)
    2) iRecovery Application (.exe)
    3) libusb0.dll
    4) libusb-win32-filter-bin-0/1/12/2
when I installed either 3 or 4, my PC started acting weird, so I restarted my PC and got the BSOD. I restarted my PC in Safe Mode and uninstalled libusb..., restarted my PC and I was back in business. I haven't tried anything since and need step by step HELP. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!
I have a comprehension disability, which makes it difficult at best to get much accomplished on my own.
    5) redline5.dll Windows Batch File
    6) EnterRecov Windows Batch File
    7) exitrecovery.commandlist COMMANDLIST File
    8) IPHUCWIN32 Application
    9) RecBoot Application
Now I have these 9 things to work with and will download anything else I need.
    Thanks in advance ;^)

  • How can i downgrade my iphone 4s from iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1?

i've ugraded my iphone 4s to iOS 6.0.1 and i'm not satisfied. it slows down my phone and takes a lot of RAM and CPU. i want to downgrade to 5.1.1 and i've been searching a lot on the web apparently i have to be jailbreaked so i can downgrade. this is not logicly acceptable. i don't like jailbreaking my phone. i should have the right to downgrade to any iOS versions that i want but apple is just being unfair. apple is limiting and puts boundaries for the usage of my own personal gadget which leads people to jailbreak or change their mind on using apple products. i as a client and a fan of apple products am not satisfied and i'm gonna change my mind about it if i don't find any solution for this problem.
anyways people out there i would really appreciate if u have anything to share...
    peace

Apple does not support downgrading iOS firmware

  • ITunes hangs up EVERYTIME I try to Upgrade my iPhone 4 from iOS 4.3.5 to 5.1.1

So I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.5. I want to undo the jailbreaking so I downloaded iOS 5.1.1 but EVEYRTIME I try upgrading, iTunes always hang up. iTunes hangs up even when I just connect my iPhone. It hangs up when I click the name of my iPhone. It hangs up when I click sync. It ate all of my available space so I have 0 GB left. I'm really frustrated. Please help me resolve this. Thanks!

  • How to downgrade my iPhone 4 from iOS 7.0.4 to iOS 7.0.3?

Hi. I have upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 7.0.4. After two days, the iPhone has had problems with the sound, so I want to downgrade it to the previous iOS 7.0.3. Could someone help me with that?

    Hi, Peter
I found an old post of yours regarding an ipod connectivity issue to your VW . Ufortunately I lost that discussion thread and I can no longer refer to it, hence this totally unrelated message.
Did you eventually manage to get your ipod to charge and play in your 2005 VW GOLF? I have a 2009 golf and the ipod connection inside the armrest appears to be a 30 pin ipod dock..I am planning to purchase an ipod touch nano (7th gen.) and I am a bit lost as to what cables I'll need to make sure it will both charge and play.
Can you advise, please?  I believe that in theory I'll need a dock extender cable (cablejive) and  then a 30 pin to lightening cable, then a 12 v to 5 v charger adaptor but I am not too sure about it...
    Thank you.
