TS3694 iPhone 4 crashed, won't restore.
So here are the messages I'm getting. I hope someone can help me!
iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore with iTunes.
clicked the "restore" button
clicked "restore and update"
"Preparing iPhone for restore" (status bar in iTunes)
the status bar came up on the phone and started loading got to about 30%
"Restoring iPhone software" (staus bar in iTunes)
phone status bar goes to about 70%
"Verifying iPhone restore"
"Restoring iPhone firmware"
phone status bar stays at about 70%
Error window pops up "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)
I'm running the latest versions of iTunes and iOS, have no firewalls, and have forced shutdown.
Error 1 seems to be a bad error. Try to Restore firmware again. Try to Restore on different computer. If you still have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

Next time, remember to first turn iMessage & FaceTime off, delete the iCloud account, then restore/reset the phone. To fix, if you setup a support profile with Apple, you can login to your support profile & remove the phone. If not, change your Apple ID password.

After upgrading iTunes to the newest version, I received a request to upgrade to the most recent iPhone software. Attempted to do so, and then received an error message telling me I needed to restore phone (which was not a good sign in and of itself). Attempted to restore phone, and then received an error message (1604) that the phone can't be restored. This then caused my itunes not to recongize the phone when it is plugged into any of my USB ports.
My phone display shows the "connect to iTunes" display, but as I said, once I do it does not recognize it. This essentially has left me with a completely unusable phone.
HELP.
USB port is fine, I've tested it by plugging in my old iPod which it recognizes fine. Running current version of iTunes. Tried shutting down and restarting. Nothing is working.

ERROR 27 :: iPhone 5 16GB Won't Restore, Stuck in DFU mode

Iphone 3g crashed won't start.
I've had a cracked screen for almost a month now and today the phone crashed and it won't start I have plugged it into the wall outlet nothing happens i plugged it into my computer and it doesn't recognize it, it's like the phone is just off and won't turn on. I'm now assuming because I have a physical problem they are they just going to use this as an excuse not to fix the software problem aren't they?

I have an iPhone 3G that no longer has phone service, but otherwise worked perfectly fine. Took it to AT&T store and they wiped it clean and told me to Restore and then sync.
I have restored 3 times, but the iPhone continues to show only an arrow indicating "connect to iTunes."
My older son has an iPod & am able to sync or do whatever to that device. Attempting to turn older iPhone into an iPod for younger son.

My iPhone 6 Plus won't restore from iCloud Backup
I had backed up my iPhone 5S nightly, including an hour before I got into the apple store to get my 6 Plus. It will not restore from iCloud to the new phone, no matter which of the old backups I choose. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you solve it?
Yes, yes & yes, I am on my home wi-fi & have tried on a personal wi-fi hotspot while out, I had enough iCloud space before, but after deleting my last backup I've got loads & my phone stopped automatically backing up, so have been trying using the backup now button.

I've just got a new iphone 5 which im trying to restore from my old iphone 4, but when i try to do this it says i cant because the software on my iphone 5 is too old.
Do i start the iphone 5 as a new phone and then restore it (if i can do that). or is there another way?
Can anyone help me please?

Error 1 seems to be a bad error. Try to Restore firmware again. Try to Restore on different computer. If you still have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

My phone locked up, so I held down the home key and sleep key simultaneously. The phone then asked me to connect to iTunes and offered the restore option. It downloaded the software and extracted but upon trying to prepare the iPhone for the restore a message "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1603). What gives? I clicked "Okay and now the phone sits there with the apple icon showing and will not power off. Attempting to do show will bring back the "Please connect to iTunes" message and then it will show the apple icon on the screen. I am stuck in a loop that doesn't fix anything.
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.10)I allowed my iphone battery to fully discharge and upon recharging got the error message with a large exclamation mark “please connect to itunes”. When I connected to itunes I was told that the phone was in recovery mode and needed to be reloaded. Itunes went out and downloaded the new firmware and began the install process after I approved the input screen that said it would wipe out all my data. 1/3 of the way through the process I received a message box that told me the process had failed to restore the iphone for an unknown error (number 1603).
After looking online and calling ATT as well as Apple the best solution I received was to send the iphone in for replacement (i am 5 hours from an apple store). After fiddling around I have managed to solve the problem on my own.
After trying everything else with no results, I pulled the SIM card out of the iphone and plugged the iphone into my computer. Itunes then reloaded the software and firmware successfully. I then put the SIM card back in and synced it up with itunes and it asked me to confirm the resync. Afterwards it just worked fine.
My iphone works again! -
Iphone 4 (gsm) won't restore do a system restore running ios 6.1.3
So last week I was trying to text someone and was receiving their texts but it wouldn't let me send any. Then a window popped up saying storage was almost full. I have a 32 gig and am only using around 5.5. I've tried using icloud to backup but it just gets stuck. I have synced and backup my phone but now I can't even to an ios update to 7. The message is something about the device not allowed being allowed to run the ios?? It was my understanding that it should work.
Please help!Good question. Don't know as I have never tried doing that with an older iOS when a new one is available. I have tried finding documentation here, but have not been able; maybe you can search.

In anycase,I would think erasing is not the same as restoring so perhaps the phone would not be upgraded. There is only one way to find out; take the plunge . Whatever you do or find, post back here, with results. -

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. I tried to update my iphone 3gs from ios 5 to 6 but because of software crash and while restoring with ios 6 it is not activated. Now I degrade it in ios 4 and can not use any app. How can I update this iphone?
Downgrading the iOS is not supported, and likely has caused the problems you are experiencing.
You'll need to go elsewhere for support. -
My iPhone has crashed and i went to iTunes to restore it and after waiting for it to be restored it said "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2006). Can anybody please help suggest what i should do now?
