TS3694 iTunes update fail?

iTunes has never loaded since the last update.  2007 MacBook Pro here, OS version 10.8.3.  iTunes dock icon bounces, pinwheel spins, but that's it.  "Force Quit" function shows iTunes "not responding."  No error code, but reported to Apple as normal.  What's up?

I tried it twice.  Each time I do and then try to launch iTunes it gives me the same message, but the part inside the < > is different.
When I hit the "okay" button iTunes does launch, but then I have to force quit.  It will not quit otherwise.

  • TS3694 ITunes update failed today... uninstalled software, but cannot re-install it... help?

I needed to updagte iTunes so I let it run this morning, but I got an "update failed" message. My iPad was plugged into my laptop during the update, and the iPad won't shut down or restart. I removed the software in the order instructed and downloaded the iTunes software to re-install it... I'm missing something, I know, but I'm at a loss to get it to work... any suggestions?

I actually thought that this would be a fairly common thing.
Can anyone sned me to a link that tells me how to re-install Itunes?
    Thanks

  • Itunes update failed on 2 computers, couldn't find msvcr80.dll files. Now have no itunes at all

iTunes update failed on both computers. Couldn't find msvcr80.dll, now I have no iTunes at all. Is it iTunes or the computers?

I did NOT move the other folders (Album Artwork, Mobile Applications, Playlists, Previous iTunes Libraries) or files (iTunes Library, iTunes Library Extras, iTunes Library Genius, iTunes Music Library) that are located inside the Music/iTunes folders.
should be no problem. i'm doing this also.
Everything was working fine on both computers - Consolidated the library on the external drive and did the Change the location of the iTunes Media folder in Preferences on both computers, no problem.
However I added two movies and a few songs to my desktop Mac yesterday - all showed up and played fine after adding them - but when I plug the external drive into my laptop, the new additions don't appear in the library.
if you're purchasing content from the iTMS, you could use _*Home Sharing*_ to automatically add new content to all machines on your local network.
Am I right in guessing that it is because the iTunes Library file on the laptop isn't the same as the one on the desktop computer?
    yes.
Is there a way to add them to the library listing on the laptop? If yes, is that something I need to do every time I connect the external drive to the laptop if I've added things from the desktop computer (I never add stuff on the laptop).
basically, yes. however, there's _*Home Sharing*_ and ... see below.
Should I have put the entire iTunes folder - files, folder and media - onto the external drive?
that's one possibility, however, only one Mac @ a time could access that library. there are other options:

  • ITunes update failed.

Yesterday an iTunes update failed on my Windows PC.
Now I can't start iTunes, a box comes up saying MSVC80dll is missing.
    Re-installing fails as well.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    try with this one
uninstall all the apple application S/w like Quicktime, Bonjour,
apple Device Support, Apple Auto update, Itunes etc from your pc,
    Reboot it
Now download a fresh itunes from apple and try installing
    Reboot it
If you are having Problem in uninstalling any of the apple application
try 'revo uninstaller' and uninstall all the apple applications
    mentioned above

Itunes update failed to install and now Itunes  won't run

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • Latest iTunes update fails, Uninstall / Re-Install solution fails

    Hello All,
    Katrina, b noir ....
Several days ago after the last iTunes update failed, crippling iTunes connection to the iTunes Store, I came to the support pages for answers.
I started following the step by step instructions to uninstall and re-install iTunes 10.4.1.10, first hitch...Bonjour refused to go completely leaving stubborn files behind, I had to download LSPFIX.exe to finally clean its folder
As instructed by the apple support article, orderly deleted all the other files and folders, used msicuu2.exe, restarted the PC, and using rar extracted the individual .MSIs to continue with standalone installations.
Got two new errors, Apple Application Support will not install due to "A later version of Apple Application Support is already installed on this computer" and,
Apple Mobile Device Support failed to install when the AMDS stalled and displayed a 1053 error,
Tried to start the AMDS service many times without luck, I read somewhere that NETframework service pack 1.1 had resolved that 1053 error in the past...I am logged as admin on a Windows XP machine
Most of what I did successfully was learned from reading the posts and answers to/from other members.
I would really appreciate your assistance.
    Thanks and best regards.

For some reason when I try to download iTunes from the Apple site the file is flagged as dangerous.
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error after iTunes update failed?

I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error after iTunes update failed?

Seems the base of the problem is the update installation does not change the libraries but the software wants to see them changed.  So the user has to go clear out all software that shares the libraries and then install the full version so they are rebuilt properly.

  • I had a itune update fail, now I get an error message (windows error 2). what do I need to do?

I had an itune update fail. now I get an error message. "windows error 2". I can not open itunes!

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Automatic iTunes update fails because of Vista x64?

iTunes update fails via "Apple Software Update" on Vista x64, because the files that were downloaded are x86 and not x64! Is there a fix for this, or do we have to wait till an x64 version of "Apple Software Update" arrives?

As a workaround, you could try downloading the update direct from the Apple website:
    Latest iTunes Installer
(The website should automatically detect if you've got an x64, and download the 64-bit Vista installer. It will be called "itunes64setup.exe".)

  • Since a few weeks all my iTunes Updates fail to install. After the installation trial, the previous installation is damaged – a service is missing.

Since a few weeks all my iTunes Updates fail to install. After the installation trial, the previous installation is damaged – a service is missing :
To fix this I have to deinstall all components of Apple Software in exact order as you reveal on your web site. Than reinstall iTunes from Scratch.
I am using Windos 7 64 bit Professional German edition.

    Hi,
to see the cause of Windows 8 update failures, we must look for error messages in the following log files:
Please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi.dev.log from the folder C:\Windows\Inf, the "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log"
to your document folder (otherwise you can't upload it), zip all files into 1 ZIP and upload the zip to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here.

  • ITunes update failed to reinstall on 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium

Never had problems before with iTunes update. I never had to do anything besides accepting the agreement, followed the prompts, and clicked "Finish" at the end of the installation. But the update that came 3 days ago failed to install, with a message to get the 64-bit version of iTunes even though iTunes have always installed to the same 64-bit OS computer. After countless hours of uninstalling and reinstalling, and registry clean up, I'm now coming up at 2 consecutive reinstallations with this error message:
    Could not open key:
UNKNOWN\Components\32A7D634EB632D11CABB00087CCFBB48\C09E34DBD62CDBC6EB11CA. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I have read other postings with identical error message but no answers either here or on the Apple's forum site. I will appreciate any help, workaround or whatever.
    Thanks.

I also face the same problem installing it on my Window 7 Professional. Have you found an answer to this? Thanks.

  • ITunes Update fails.  I have to uninstall and reinstall every time.  Why?

    Hi guys,
Ever since ITunes 11 started, the auto updates fail on install for iTunes.  I finally uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled using the updated version, and that worked.  Since then I've had the same failure and had to do the same uninstall process to update to versions .2 and now .3.
What is going on?  My library restores thankfully after the reinstall but it is very annoying that the updater doesn't work.  And I can't download the file and install it either, that also fails.  Only the uninstall/reinstall works.
    Thanks for the help!

Running Windows 8 on a brand new computer

I did it and it worked!
But directions were off a little on the SubinACL install.
SubinACL installed in C:\Program Files (86)\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\. "But then you must run the .exe file to install it." Just click on it. It runs in less than a second.
But Reset_fp11.bat automatically installed as a zip into user Cheryl\AppData\Local\Temp not the Subin_ACL Folder. So I copied the zip file (dragged it) (it asked for Administrator approval to copy file) into C:\Program Files (86)\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\ in the Tools folder. I right clicked it and clicked Run as Admistrator. Then the code flew by ending with 8 Uninstalled. Not to worry. It worked just fine! Problem solved. Thanks again!

When I was downloading the latest version of itunes on my pc the update failed.
I can no longer acces itunes.

Do you get an error message when you try to install iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • ITunes update fails with error 2324, uninstall fails with 2324 as well, no way to run itunes

I have not used itunes for a year or so.  Every time I turn on my Windows 7 x64 desktop, the update fails.
This time I tried to update and got the failure code 2324.  I then decided to just uninstall and start over.  The uninstaller gives me the same error code.  When I try to run the old version of itunes that worked for quite some time I get an error stating the program is not compatible with my operating system.
I am stuck and I cannot call support during normal business hours because I work for a living and won't be in front of my home desktop.

Try to unistall it clean using that microfoft utility
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/
make sure to get rid of all apple stuff using that program, one by one.
Then download installer again, but before disable all firewalls and antivirus.
    and install.
