i update my ios to 6.1.2 and they ask me to connect itunes amd my iphone give me on itunes update server couldnt be contacted\

Try:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
Or it could be an Apple problem and you will have to wait.

There is no such thing as a "Factory Unlocked iPhone "
They are either locked to a carrier who may at some stage offer unlocking
or sold direct to a user by Apple (from their own Stores or online .)
Those iPhones are NOT locked
Where did you get your iPhone

whoops!
here we go again:
I am trying to update my iphone software to 5.0.1, and everytime i do I get a message saying "Iphone software update server cannot be contacted -make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active and try again later"
This has been going on for weeks, and I've tried everything
I have turned off firewalls to the best of my knowledge
I did that thing where you go to the LAN tab and choose detect settings
I've downloaded the newest version of itunes
I'm not very technologically savvy, so if anyone can help me - i would need a pretty clear walk through of what to do
I really want to get this zombie jogging app, but my iphone needs to update before it can get on the phone

iOS 4.3.3 doesnt have the "Update your Software" tab so you will need to go to itunes and back up your iphone then restore your iphone and it will download the latest iphone software (6.1.4) if you dont want 6.1.4 download your current version and hit shift on your keyboard (alt if your on Mac I think) and click restore iphone and find your downloaded software 4.3.3 then download iOS 5 or 6 and do the samething after your phone boots up from restoring it to 4.3.3.

When restoring or updating any iPod touch: "...the software update server cannot be contacted."

When I try to update or restore any iPod touch on my MacBook (year 2007, 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.4), it puts the iPod into recovery mode and gives an error: "The iPod "iPod" cannot be restored at this time because the iPod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable." This happens after it extracts the software and says "Verifying update with Apple." Also, the first time I try an update, it gives error code 3004, but it still puts me in recovery mode and when I try restoring it from that it gives the error I posted above.

iOS: Resolving update.
I got an Error 1602 message
When trying to resolve a got a nother message that stated:
Update server not available.
I have tried repeated times to reconnect but not go.
My 3GS phone will not restore when connecting to my itunes.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, the 'Sign in or activation errors' link did not yield any help. I tried all of the suggestions with no luck. I found on another site that this COULD happen as a result of certain wireless issues. I WAS able to install AND activate the product with no problem. Registration went without problem. Just when I went to Help and Check for Updates that it puts up the 'Update Server Not Available'. Any other suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks again.
