TS3697 Most of my photos are not available in iTunes
When I sync my iPod or iPhone to iTunes, only approximately 600 photos are available for syncing....I have almost 7,000 photos. All the photos appear in iPhoto. All my software is up to date. I tried clearing out the iPod Photo Cache as suggested by others.
I have recently cleared out the following Cache to free up disk space:
~/Library/Caches/
/Library/Caches
Any Help would be appreciated.
Here is an update...
I called Apple, they said the problem most likely is a corrupted iPhoto Library. (I remember getting an error message regarding my photos after I installed the latest version of iPhoto.)
He began to walk me through the process. He said to first export my library. He recommended that I put it on my desktop. Not enough room so I plugged in my external hard drive. It was taken forever so I made arrangements to call back. Well I left for awhile and when I came back I got an error message that it could not be completed.
BUT, when I plugged in my iPod/iPhone I now had 1700 photos available for download.
I called Apple again. This person agreed it was a corrupted iPhoto file. She believed that it probably got corrupted when I updated iPhoto most likely because my harddrive does not have enough room. I have maybe 5GB left. She recommended copying my files and trying to rebuild them.
I am debating whether to migrate my iMovie files to another disk to free up space and try again. Or waiting for the new iMacs to be released which might be as soon as this week and then try.

Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -

If you have non-purchased content then you need to use third-party software to transfer it to your iTunes Library - Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac. -
There are a few tv shows that played this week that are not available on itunes from tnt. Why are they not available for download. We watch these each week, and I have checked to be sure that there was actually an episode this week, and there was.
Under other "sync-able" players, there's usually the "Sync only checked items" radio button. Not for the 2.0 Apple TV. There's no option, but acts as though that option ("sync only, etc...") has been selected. Figured it out after an hour of walking back and forth from my Mac to the TV. Argh.
Try it. De-select the shows, sync the AppleTV and look under the "TV Shows" and the one's you've unchecked will not be there.

Most of my contacts are gone. My favorites and call log show numbers but no names. It did not remove all contacts but most of them. I can type in the name and it comes up but is it not listed in my contacts.
Within Contacts, tap Groups at top left. Make sure all contact groups are checked to show, then tap "Done" at top right.

I am unable to click most links and photos are not appearing
Tried to download some apps from itunes but none of the icons are appearing and most links are unclickable.. I am able to view text but not pictures and the instal button will not react when I click it.
Although you're not getting an error number, perhaps try the iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

I'm a year into using a computer, and my Mac was set up by another family member who is no longer around.
Tonight I noticed the Firefox "getting started: tab and thought I might learn something. For starters, the screen on the Browsing Basics picture was so small as to be almost unreadable; I played parts of the video many times to catch what tab was being explained. It did not help that many of the tabs on the video were not on my Mac's Firefox screen.
Specifically, my screen has no Firefox tab (except at the top next to the Mac Apple logo), no bookmark tab to the right of the Home tab, no plus sign/new tab tab, no all tabs tab.
My screen also does not match the details on the sample screen that comes up when I first clicked on the Firefox "getting started" tab.
It would seem I need a new Firefox top section of my screen, but I just downloaded Firefox updates.......Thanks for any help!I too just downloaded Firefox on my Mac and noticed that my screen did not match the video. The video's sample screen has been customized to show all the features you can add and use to make browsing easier, like adding all those tabs you and I don't have yet.
But first let me comment on how small the video is, with no way of expanding the video. Your mac can easily zoom in to make the video as big as you need it. Just hold down your ctrl key, place two fingers on your track pad and zoom in or out to the desired size. I use this feature so much, to read small text and watch video windows that are too small. Try it.
After you finish watching the "getting started video" just roll over the markers to make Firefox do what you need it to do. I however have the most of the tab features already from importing some of my settings from another browser so I can't tell you step by step on how to get the tabs you want. Just play around with it and I'm sure you'll begin to appreciate the speed and ease like I do. -
My purchased items are not available in iTunes
None of my purchased items are showing up in the iTunes Store. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? Thanks! This problem shows up on my iPhone 4S (with latest software update), Apple TV 3 (latest software update) and my MacBook Pro (latest software). I am getting the message, "You do not have any purchased movies available to download." The same is for my TV Shows and Music. I know for a fact that I have a lot of music, movies, and TV Shows purchased, and I have been able to view/listen to them before on my Apple TV.

Some photos are not synchronized by itunes
i have more than 800 photos, at the start i have all my photos synchronised by itunes but now i have only 50 photos on the ipad. they are all in the same resolution 1280 by 1024 in jpg and come from the same camera, i got this probleme from some time after an update of itunes or os ipad.

Rentals (How come some movies are not available on itunes but on apple tv?
Was going to rent a movie on itunes however it said it was only available on apple tv? Does that mean I can only watch it on apple tv and not on my mac? What is the purpose?
It's just the way it is - previously HD rentals were only available via AppleTv though this seems to be changing and there may even be some HD films to purchase now. There may also be a difference with SD content.
How Apple can sell/rent movies/TV Shows will be strictly governed by the movie companies/studios who own the rights, and they or Apple for one reason or another may have limited what can be rented where either for commercial or logistical reasons.
I suspect there was partly a case of Apple assuming no point allowing HD rentals from iTunes because they assumed there's be no benefit for iPod/iphone users whose devices would not be HD capable - of course they may have discounted people who want to watch a movie on their laptop or computer.
It could also be a case of limiting demand while server backbone architecture is improved - AppleTV users will be a minority compared to other iTunes users so treading the water with say HD rentals on this device will have less of an overnight impact on demand/capacity of servers to deliver the goods.
Truth is, it's just the way it is, but is likely to change to a more logical model over time, but there'll stil be widespread differences in content availability/pricing from country to country. -
Album View and Cover Flow View are not available in iTunes 7
Hi,
When I connect my iPod, in the iTunes 7, the options for Album view and Cover Flow View are disabled for the song list on my iPod. I only have a list view for them. However, at the same time, the songs on the library can be viewed in any of the three (3) views.
What might be the possible reason and is there any options to view your iPod songs in Cover Flow View in iTunes (while it is connected)?

First I have Mac OSX 10.6.8
I photo 8.1.2
All of a sudden when I attempt to download a photo from Iphoto to an email attachment or to facebook, I get a message that says I need to :
"open Iphoto 5 or later to see photos from your Iphoto library in this list" it shows in light grey.
AS I mentioned above, I have 8.1.2 and my photos are all available when I go to the photo app.
I read to delete iphoto from the library which i did but that didn't help and maybe was a mistake? And if it was how do I fix that?
I have searched the web to no resolve. I also see that I do not have the latest version of iphoto but when I check for updates it says there are none available.
What happened and how can I fix it! HELP!

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
If that fails, then you're reinstalling the OS. -

consistently when trying to access TFS2012 Web Access. I'm on the same domain as the server and able to login however as soon as I try and access a query it asks me to log in again and then presents me with the above message.
Any thoughts am trying to get as many ports open as possible however security's pretty tight here.

I installed elements 12 on a Win 8.1 computer and moved all my photos from my old XP machine. I updated to elements 12.1. Now, many/most of my photos will not open because I do not have "permission" to open the files. How do I fix this so I can work with MY photos?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -

Connect your devices to the computer with the USB cable (one device at a time) and import the photos via iPhoto or Image Capture.
If you have not changed any default settings on your computer, iPhoto will automatically launch when you plug in the device. Then follow the import prompts.
