TS3742 MacBook Pro 13" with Mountain Lion Freezing at login and getting Kernel errors

Ive been working on a friends MacBook Pro 13" with mountain lion for about a week now. It is having intermittent kernal panic errors on boot up only. It is also freezing up frequently at apple logo. Disk check passed, reformatted and reinstalled os. Switched out Ram. Still happening. Can anyone help.

Linc Davis,
I hope this is what you were requesting. I deleted out the UUID but as far as hang reports, wasn't sure what that would look like so I am sorry if that is included in this. Please let me know what you think.
Thank you for your help in this.

  • Why do applications keep crashing on MacBook Pro i7 with mountain lion

I am using a late-2011 MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion OS 10.8 and 8GB of RAM.
The system keeps having iTunes, and most recently Skype, crash while in use.
This never happened previously, and I am puzzled.
    Any thoughts?

Did you upgraded from Lion or Snow Leopard?
Sometimes it's better to do a clean install: http://tinyurl.com/bmbkgrm

  • I have a MacBook Pro 2012 running Mountain Lion 10.7.5 and the mirroring icon isn't showing up to stream to Apple TV

I have a MacBook Pro 2012 running Mountain Lion 10.7.5.  I've been trying to get the mirroring icon to show up in the bar but no dice.  Any tips?  I've gone into System Preferences -> Display and there is no option to turn on mirroring.

Welcome to the Apple Community maricespieces.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). You can see which Mac you have and which operating system you are using by selecting 'About this Mac' from the Apple menu in the top left corner of your Mac and selecting the 'More Info' button.

  • Will MacBook Pro shipped with Mountain Lion if I purchase it today?

I called their support line and according to the guy that I spoke to that it will not ship with Mountain Lion since there will be still some "Old" MacBook Pro lying around in Apple so they would wanna clear those off first. According to the support guy that it will take at least 1-2 months before Apple start shipping all MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion and it might take longer if you purchase it through Online Apple Store. I can still upgrade to Mountain Lion myself through Mac Store definately but I purposely waited till the launching date hoping that it will automatically ship with Mountain Lion ready and now I'm hearing this news. Can anyone verify and confirm this is true? I thought Apple made some of their employee stay overnight to upgrade all their Macs before launching? And Apple just gonna leave their "Old" Macs running the old OS lying there until it's sold out before shipping with Mountain Lion?

If you buy a Mac today, it may have come from the factory a month ago so it will not have Mountain Lion installed. Still, ML is a free upgrade to anyone who purchases a new Mac after June 11th. Unless you don't have an Internet connection, I don't see any reason not to go ahead a get a Mac today.
Note that if you go into an Apple Store today, they might just do the update for you in the store - I've heard of it happening...

  • Does the macbook pro come with mountain lion?

I have a MacBook7,1 and am thinking about upgrading to a Pro, however I woud like to know if a new Pro will come with Mountain Lion X installed or wether I'll have to purchase it??

Any new machine you buy will come with the OS Apple is currently shipping.
In the past if you bought a new machine close to the time a new OS was released Apple also would let you upgrade to the new OS for free.

  • Why is it not possible to use airplay on earlier macbook pro models with Mountain Lion?

I've been looking forward to this release of the OSX, especially the built in AirPlay function for the Mac Pro, which I've been missing ever since I bought the Apple TV.
Now finally when I went to download Mountain Lion, I search google, and find out that AirPlay is only supported on early 2011 Mac Pro and later?
What are the earlier users going to do? I have an early 2009 model of the Mac Pro, and I just wan't to know if I'll be able to utilize the new AirPlay function or not, which determines whether or not I'm going to upgrade my OSX version
    Best regards, Thomas

    I found some stuff here: http://www.cultofmac.com/178460/the-real-reason-why-macs-before-2011-cant-use-ai rplay-mirroring-in-mountain-lion-feature/

Looks like I'll have to upgrade my mac book pro to get this feature to work

  • Trouble setting up wireless printing between my Macbook Pro w. Mountain Lion 10.8.1 and my HP C4780 Printer

    Hi all,
I'm having a frustrating problem trying to set up the wireless printing between my Macbook Pro 13" to my HP C4780 printer. I had no problem installing and configuring this before on my previous computer, a Macbook. However, when I got my new computer (the Macbook Pro), my wireless network wont show up when I try and install the wireless capability during the printer setup. I had to buy a new router and set up a new network around the time I got my new computer, so I wonder if this has something to do with it. My wireless network is a WPA/WPA2 personal, but so was my old wireless network with the old router and I didn't have a problem installing the wireless. I thought I might not have had the most up-to-date driver for the printer software, but I do. So, i'm stuck! Any thoughts??

Go here and download all the manuals and read them on how to set up your printer.

You have a choice as to whether or not applications in Lion like Word or Preview (or even Safari) save and re-open previous documents or windows... just hold down the option key while quitting a program and when you re-open it you won't get the previous documents or windows when you re-open the application. You can see this by selecting the open program in the menu bar and when holding down the option key the quit function will change to quit and discard open windows. This feature in Lion is referred to as "Resume" and is great if you want to restart an app and return to what you're doing (for example in Safari re-opening existing windows and tabs from your previous session). You still have the option to close individual windows within an app before quitting and they will not re-open when the app is launched again.
This Resume function is not related to saving your work (a word or text document for example). This is handled by Lion's "Auto-Save" and "Versions" functions. See http://www.apple.com/ca/macosx/whats-new/auto-save.html

    Your question asked.....
Can either of these three connect to the existing router (which is not an Apple router and cannot be changed) wireless?
So we understood that you wanted to connect to the existing router using wireless.
If you can run an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on your existing router to the other house, then you could connect one of the Apple routers that way.
Compare the Apple routers here to find one that might meet your requirements:

  • Is my mac pro compatible with mountain lion?

Is my mac pro compatible with mountain lion/ 2 x 2.66 Ghz Dual core processors?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

And FBDIMMs which use to cost $300+ for 8GB can now be had for... 2 x $34.
    I paid $300 2 x 512MB August 2006,, then 2 x 1GB $400 March '07
So as long as you only need 16GB you are safe, it is when you need 4GB, or the rare 8GB FBDIMM and 32GB or more, that yes, time to part ways and get a system that supports cheaper DDR3.
Except, right now, 10.8.2 'broke' support for more than 64GB and there were people depending on and using 96GB.  Or that more than 48GB also 'broke' the Apple Pro RAID card; a card that still does not support 3TB drives. 10.8.2 does though provide support for more current Nvidia cards (10.7.4 also showed support just not for GTX 6xx series). 3rd party graphic support has always been a weakness, until now.
Apple Mac Pro is a workstation. Except when it is not. It is still not clear how they missed these things.
What 32-bit EFI won't get you is 64-bit kernel mode and abilty to fully use more powerful graphic cards or memory addresses for a single process beyond 4GB or graphic card support with more than 2GB (and 2GB use to always fail in OS X in the past).
