I can't rent movies on itv??

I purchased 2 apple itvs.. One for myself and one for my folks. I purchased these because there are no video rental outlets close to our areas. I installed the unit and everything works netflix, utube, radio. All updates have been done and unit was set up.. I tried wireless which worked fine and later I hardwired it to the router. I have tried to rent movies (this is what I got this for..) All I get is "An error occurred loading this content" I rented The Rite and another movie... I trieds for four nights to play the movie (20 times a night) and I get the same message.. I contacted itunes and they reversed the charges on the movies and recommended that I try again... I tried to rent another movie with the same issues. I have tried to contact support.. They ask me for a serial number and when I enter it, it tells me it is not a good serial number (I assure you this is a genuine apple product) I have checked the number in "general" and on the unit.. I have entered the numbers in lower case and upper case with the same results. It seems the only thing I can use this for is netflix and utube... But my xbox plays netflixs and my Mac pro can do everything else.. Help!

I wanted to drop this note and let you know I have upgraded my internet to a faster service. I had a few issues with Telus.. But I was able to fix those issues on my own. I have been able to successfully rent movies and I wanted to thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
I must say I am unhappy with the technical support that Telus and Apple have. And as an trainer and advisor (in another field) this disappoints and fustraits me more, but I am pleased that people can help each other out.

I rented iron man 2 two days ago for 3 euro. The purchase was billed to me and my store credit was deducted. I went to download my movie but it keeps saying 'Download error tap to retry' The movie shows up in my videos but says could not load. I know i have enough space to download the movie. I am an unhappy customer and I want a refund. Ps: doing this all on my ipod

Rented Episode on Itunes is stuck and won't play

So I recently rented an episode of Glee on iTunes and decided to watch it around half an hour ago until it was stuck mid-episode. I tried closing iTunes but its still stuck on the same scene. I rewinded it then forwarded it and still, the same case. I'm very unhappy with this as the service Apple provides is supposed to be "reliable".

Restart your computer and everything ought to be returned to a watchable state.

It DOES show up in iTunes on my iPhone. It DOES NOT show up on my desktop.

How can i watch a rented movie in my apple tv?

I rented a movie in iTunes and want to watch it in my apple TV. I try to "drag" the movie to the apple TV under Devices, and can't seem to do it. When I go to my shared movies in apple TV the rental is not there. Does anyone know what I need to do?

I assume you are using the Apple TV 1 (silver/grey).
The rental needs to be transferred to the Apple TV. It sounds as though you have paired a secondary (streaming only) library only and you need a primary library to transfer content.

It's probably still on your computer. Rental movies can't be synced like other videos since they can only exist on one device at a time, your computer or your iPad. Connect your iPad to your computer and select the movies tab. At the top of the page you'll see rented movies separate from purchased movies. Select the movie you want and click the "Move" button.

Did you try Parental Controls?

See if that does the trick: I think there's a way for you to request a password for purchases, but still be logged in.

Unable to view rented video

so I rented a movie on my ATV last night and when I tried to play it the screen just showed white. No picture, no sound, nothing. I'm sure I'm being charged for the rental but I wanted to know how to get someone to take action on a rental that fails to show properly. You're only give 24 hours to view it so if that never happens how can you go about not being charged? I sent a message via the service an support mechanism on ATV help but haven't received a reply. Help! I really enjoy this feature when it is working but if I don't have an avenue to resolve these little problems promptly I can't see myself continuing to partake.

Slow load times on rented movies

Recently we have been experiencing intermittent performance during streaming rented videos on our second generation Apple TV. For the second night in a row we would be watching a rented video when it would suddenly freeze and then say "Ready to play in XX minutes". The amount of minutes then jumps from anywhere between 59 minutes up to as long as 1 hour and 50 minutes. My thought is that it has something to do with Apple's introduction of the 3rd gen AppeTV (1080p) and rentable 1080p movies. I suspect all the bandwidth is going toward these new devices and all of us with older hardware are getting the shaft.
Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing the same issue(s).

PS - Wife put on a Netflix show and it worked right away with no problems. Internet is cable into a Time Capsule (802.11n). I'm not a computer novice and never have experienced these long loading issues on streaming rentals before.

I did some research about the problem online and discovered that it was OpenDNS causing the problem. If you're using OpenDNS I recommend changing your settings back to your ISP's settings.
If that's not the issue for you check your download speed by getting the free app called Speed Test. According to Apple the minimum speed should be at 6 MBit/sec for 720p.

After changing my DNS addressess back to the default Comcast ones I tried playing our rented movie again and it started right up. Kind of bummed that this is the solution because OpenDNS is pretty cool. If you don't know what it is check it out online at OpenDNS.com. Basically it allows you to block unwanted content on a network-wide basis so that you can filter content coming in to any device connected to your network... rather than setting up individual parental controls on a client by client (meaning any device on your network - iPhones, computers, game consoles, etc) basis.
The downside as it turns out is that it messes up AppeTV. :-(

Downloaded rented movie on PC and can't find it.

I D/L'ed through iTunes on my PC last night. It completed the download, and I logged off.
It's a holiday movie so I was planning on watching it this morning through my PC, which is connected to my TV.
I've seen a lot of advice stating that the video stores in the video app on an iPad. I don't have an iPad.
I've checked my movies, recent downloads, available downloads. It's nowhere.
But it does show where I was charged for it in My Account in iTunes.

Disregard. I found it.
Simple answer to the point that I am embarrassed.
In the Library, under Movies, there is another tab that says "Rented".
It was, obviously, there.
