after syncing old phone data to new phone now receiving endless old e-mails from previous phone and cant see a way of 'deleting all' only a tiresome individual method......worried that when I did this a new lot of old emails appeared!! had an iphone for about 5years and 1000's of emails not wanted...any ideas??

By the way, some non-delivery receipts (NDRs) are themselves spam messages with malicious attachments designed to infect your computer, so be cautious about opening any of those.

I just want to get it out of the way on my iphone so it doesn't confuse the transfer of ID names and then I want it back again.. I tried deleting the cloud account, being told the current e-mails would be spared. But all it did was pop up a prompt asking me for the password to my still current email ID. So I assume now that I have to go to mail and get rid of the e-mail account. But I'm scared I'll lose everything in my other devices too.

You can change the email address you use as your apple ID. this doesn't mean you have to delete the old email address as email.
When you delete an email from your device, it is only removed from the device, it does not delete your emails or the email account.

TS3899 Why can I receive but not send mail on my ipad

For some reason I can receive emails on IPad mail but it will not send.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like iOS device's are not appearing in iTunes. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

This problem only applies when attempting to receive photos that were sent in special format from iPhoto. No problem receiving photos sent as attachment to normal e-mail.

Sender receiving endless mail delivery system notifications

For the past 25 hours (or so) a friend has been receiving REPEATED messages from Mail Delivery System saying:
"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipeints is still under way after 25.6 hour(s.): [email protected] Will keep trying and contact you if the message can't be delivered permanently."
How can I/she stop these? She eventually resent the message and all is well, but that original notification regarding the original message is still out there and driving her crazy. DOZENS of these things are being sent by Mail.

You can't. Eventually they'll time out and stop. Meanwhile you can create a Mail rule to delete the notices automatically.

I think it's trying to open it in a gMail eMail & is losing your gMail password that it needs log into gMail, but not 100% positive.
Have you tried Right clicking or Control+click on the eMail link & choose Copy? Works on some, not others.

I think there's a big ol' discussion in the Mavericks forum about this - some folks have suggested setting up your own CalDAV server so you can continue syncing without having to route things through iCloud.
It may be simpler to go back to Mountain Lion or Lion (assuming you were on either of those). My syncing computer is on Lion and can't go higher so I didn't realize until recently that USB syncing over contacts & calendars was no longer available!

What do you mean you "had to unlock it"? Do you mean you jailbroke it? If it was jailbroken and you updated iOS, then wiping it out is the natural consequence of that.

E-Mail and Podcasts deleted after sync

Recently all of my older e-mails and podcasts (unlistened to) were automatically deleted after syncing my iPhone to iTunes. All podcasts were set to keep all episodes, so there should be no reason for this. Anyone have any ideas?

Go to the Messages application. Hit the menu key and select Options. Select General Options. Scroll down to where it says "Keep Messages" and set as desired.

I would try the Rebuild command. Your mail database may have been messed up.

Outlook Mail + Contact + Calendar folders change after sync

I use Outlook and after sync with my iPhone my Favorite Folder list changes. The Calendar and Contact folder names appear in Favorites (not there before) and cannot be deleted by right click and selecting "Remove from Favorite Folders". I found that by rebooting my computer the two folder names disappear but so do all my folders I added to my Favorites list. The only ones remaining are the default ones; Inbox, Outbox etc. I have to then select and add the additional ones I require. Also, when I now click the Calendar button I see only the three month calendar on the left pane and the day calendar on the right pane...with no other options available and when I click the Contact button I get the Calendar choices and if I click one of those choices the Calendar button light up.
To access my Contacts I have to right click the Contacts button and select "Open in New Window". If I do the same with the Calendar button I get the same Calendar window as just by clicking the Calendar button.
Has anyone experienced this problem? How can I fix it?
This happens each type I sync. All the contact info and appointment info sync OK to the iPhone.

Hi,
I activated Exchange sync for contacts and also Mobile Me sync for Address Book in the first phase when I started to use my iPhone 3G. So I didn't lost any local contacts on my phone. Both Exchange and Mobile Me work on my phone simultaneously.
I can put Mobile Me sync off and those contacts will disappear from my phone. And when I re-connect Mobile Me, contacts sync fine back to my phone.
I have minor problem though, Exchange sync works fine from my phone to server and vice versa. But Mobile Me seems not to work from Address Book to Phone. When I do this disconnect - reconnect workaround I can get the results I'm looking for, but it's not that user-friendly and "it's only working"-type procedure to do.
Any ideas where could be the problem?
