TS3899 can not retrieve gmail on my iPhone using Goole 2 step security?
I set up my gmail account to have 2 step security,using the one time authentication code.
This worked for my mac air and iPad. In setting it seems to recognize the code, but when checking mail
it says" The mail server"imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail setting".
Try it with 2 step verification turned off though to see if that improves it. There have been other users report issues with gmail pushing to the phone as well though

What is going on with POP email? I can NOT retrieve email unless*...I reboot AND reset!* I POP 3 Comcast emails and my own URL email. Never any problems on Entourage. Hourly issues with my new iPhone—and it's only been 4 days.
This is *unbelievably frustrating* and negates why I got the dang thing in the first place.
Does anyone have a work around? Is this a known bug (Apple) or am I missing something?
+*Plus as a side note I think there are too many clicks into the In Box. Just a usability thing I wish I could set myself.+

Its not always the case, but I can't isolate the scenario which causes it to go into this weird mode... -

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Contacts should already be at iCloud.com if you have already set up iCloud sync services. Photos in Photostream can be viewed on a computer using the same iCloud account, but not at iCloud.com.
If you haven't already set up iCloud on your phone you won't be able to do so now you have lost it. -
Since loading 7.0.2 i can not purchase apps on my iPhone 4S. Previously installed apps update, and I can purchase apps on other devices. Any ideas?
Mine's much worst - can't send nor receive emails from Yahoo and Gmail. It simply won't connect. Gmail first gives an error about the SSL and to try again without it. But, it still won't connect. Yahoo on the other hand keeps on saying that the apple.imap server is not responding no matter what settings I change. It really does seem that there's something wrong on their end, however, it seems selective.
This is on top of the fact that all of my contacts were erased and the Personal Hotspot disappears intermittently.
By the way, I came from 4.2. I updated my wife's from 4.1 and her's is just peachy. -
Can not retrieve data source status
I have 3 DPS (6.3) running fine with 3 (6.2) DS downstream, running fine as well, on RHAS 4 U4 .
I don't understand why the DPS console always report it can not retrieve the data sources status. I checked the DS access logs, and I see each DPS
default monitoring request (on the "" DN) every 30 seconds, which returns one entry, and no obvious error in any DPS or DS error log .

it looks like a a known problem to me that may appear in the following situation:
In somes cases, the proxy and the DSCC (console) uses different hostnames: For instance, the proxy may be registered to the admin framework as myhost.sun.com and the proxy itself may use only myhost. Operation status is exposed by the proxy as an LDAP entry with dn cn=myhost,.....,cn=monitor. When there is a naming mismatch, the console search for cn=myhost.sun.com,...., cn=monitor and can't find the entry, so the status is unknown.
Don't know if you are in this situation but it might worth checking this.

when I was talking on phone, suddenly the phone was switched off.
i tried to switch it on but it gave the message....connect to itunes for set up.
when I connected it to itunes...it gave the message, itunes can not read data from this iphone, restore it to factory settings. It also said while restoring ypu will lose all media data but you can restore the contacts.
I restored the factory settings....the phone was on recovery mode...it was verified by itunes and all that..but in the end it again said that iphone has some problem and can not function right now.
after that when ever i connect it with itunes, it gives the message, it can not activate the iphone further, try again later or contact customer service.
What to do now?????? Customer service people say..it is hardware problemIf it's a hardware problem, then the phone will need to be replaced.
There is no magic that can fix a hardware problem. -
I updated my iphone to OS 5.0.1 and i can not add events to my iphone calendar- does anyone know how to fix this issue?
I updated today to the 5.0.1 and now when I try to sync to ITunes, it doesn't recognize my phone and an error message comes up saying that "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started.' Outlook 2013 Free/Busy can not retrieve information
Currently have a problem with Outlook 2013 Free/Busy can not retrieve information.
All windows updates are installed.
Exchange 2007 is being used.
Problem started last week.
Already Tried without any progress:
1) Recreated profile (Fixed the issue for 1 week)
2) Cleanfreebusy ( No longer works for outlook 2013)
3) /Cleanreminders
4) Removed latest updates for outlook 10/02( As requested by Microsoft support, however we found users without this update installed, suffering from the problem)
5) Repaired OST file
6) Repaired Office 2013

As per the information and details provided by you, Outlook 2013 free/busy cannot retrieve information, please follow these steps: -
The user has never logged in
Before any free/busy information is available, the user must have at least a calendar. A calendar will not be created until a user logs into their account.
The option to publish at some location has been enabled in Calendar options
In all Outlook versions, the option to publish free/busy information must be unchecked. By default, this option is already unchecked.
This option is located under
Tools > Options > Preferences > Calendar Options > Free/busy Options.
Outlook is using cached browser information
Outlook Free/busy user HTTP, and therefore borrows information cached by Internet Explorer. It is required to clear the offline cache. This is located under
Tools > Internet Options > General. In the “Temporary Internet Files” section, choose the
“ Delete files” button.
Internet Explorer settings is not correct
AN Internet Explorer setting may prevent the .ics file from downloading via HTTPS. In Internet Exporer on the Outlook computer, go to
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. In the Security section, the checkbox for “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” should be unchecked.

Guess what? After posting, I read another thread on this topic where someone said they went to an Apple store and the tech person there added the optional username and password in the Outgoing Mail Server boxes, and then reset the phone again. Although I had tried resetting and restarting a few times today, I had NOT reset it after entering the username and password into the optional fields.
When I entered my username and password into the optional fields, the iPhone entered checks (ticks) to the right of every entry; it had not done this earlier. (I didn't reset at this time, and the outgoing mail would still not transmit).
So just now, I reset it and the outgoing email was sent!
Thanks to you and this forum, it's a great ending to a few frustrating days.
I hope this message helps others. Not only does everything have to be entered correctly in the respective boxes; but once everything is entered and you press the "Done" button, every box should then have a check mark next to it and then you must reset the phone. -

Mp4 video files can not be played on this iphone
I use iPhone 3GS. I use iTunes 10.5.1.42. I converted mp4 files from ImTOO mp4 converter. this is the exclusive conversion tool for iPhone. I was using this tool for my iPhone 2G & 3G with iTunes 10.2.1. But which I use the latest iTunes it says "sample.mp4"was not copied to the iPhone "my iPhone" because it can not be played on this iPhone.

I upgraded to windows 8.1 and now I can not retrieve my documents
I am using a HP pavilion. Was asked with a pop-up to go to microsoft app store to update windows 8 to 8.1. I did that and now can not retrieve my documents. The printer needed reloaded, too. I tryed reinstalling microsoft office, but didn't work.

View Solution.Hi hainesblum, welcome to the HP Forums. The documents that you cannot retrieve after the upgrade to Windows 8.1, were they in your 'Documents' folder? It is possible that your 'Documents' folder has been moved to 'Documents' under the 'Skydrive' folder.
If that doesn't help, please let me know the model number of your computer.

What can you do when you screwed up the installation of mail/ hotmail/ the IPad can not retrieve the mail and rested blocked on a of reception page?
Can I reload the email configuration, Please guide, IYou can delete the account and start all over again. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account name - tap on the email account name - then tap delete at the bottom of the window that will pop up.
Then start all over again with the correct information.
If you cannot get out of the mail app - force quit it. Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears. Let go of the sleep button. Then hold down on the home button until the mail app quits. You may want to restart the iPad as well.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
