TS3899 "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed"...

I cannot retrieve my mail. I get the message "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed". How do I correct this?

iPhone 4: I get the same message every time I open my mail. BUT, it's retrieving my mail. It's super annoying. I have to click 'OK' and my mail is there anyway. I think it was doing this BEFORE I updated the system software yesterday.

When I try to access Mail I get the following message "Cannot Get Mail. The mail server is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail Settings". I have entered the correct account details and even deleted them and re-entered them but to no avail, Help.

Try deleting the email account and readding it in the "other" tab instead of Yahoo/gmail, etc

I too am getting this message. I have been using my iPad for two years with no problems but a couple of days ago I starting having this problem intermittently. I have restarted the iPad when that did not work I deleted the account and reloaded it. Nothing seems to work. I was having the same problem on my iPhone but that seems to be OK today. Any other ideas?

It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? I just got my Iphone 5s last night. I tried to get my hotmail but it tells cannot get mail the connection to the server failed. I deleted my account and re added it but still the same thing. Also when I tried adding the account it tells me my password or ID is incorrect.
