The problem is, I do NOT have a password for my outgoing server.

  • TS3899 Cannot send email from iPhone. Outgoing settings are correct. Checked against iPad setting which are OK and can send mail OK.

Cannot send email from iPhone. Outgoing settings are correct. Checked them against iPad settings which are OK and can send mail. What can I do?

    For IOS7.02
The user name and password are in two places. Make  sure they are correct in both locations.
    Settings>>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>>your email>>
First spot is here under INCOMING MAIL SERVER
Below this is OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
Select: SMTP smtp.comcast.net>> PRIMARY SERVER :smtp.comcast.net>>second location of user name and password
Here is the second place that the user name and password must be checked.
I had changed my password in the first spot, but not the second spot. I had been receiving the same error message. This fixed my problem.

  • Cannot send email from iPad & iPhone with Virgin Media

I cannot send emails from my iPad and iPhone. I have a virginmedia.com address and I can receive but just cannot send. A message keeps saying the smpt settings are wrong. However, I have followed the tutorial on Virgin Media web site (this is how I managed to start receiving emails on my devices) but still not sending. I have looked at the settings in my MacBook Pro and all seem to be correct. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I had a similar problem when I loaded Microsoft Office 365 for Mac; I had to end up calling Virgin Media (useless) and then Microsoft (useful). Anyhow I have looked at the settings on the Mac and they all seem to correspond with the ipad and iphone but still cannot send emails. V V Frustrated.
    Thanks for reading.

Then make sure that the settings are correct in your email account.
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Cannot send email from an iPhone to a Outlook group.

    Hi,
My question is simple and I'd like an exactly same answer : Can iPhone users send emails from their iPhone's to one or more groups created in Outlook?
This is my situation: our organization is using iPhone to provide email, calendar, contact, task etc. to some of their employees. We are using Airwatch MDM Agent on user's iPhone because we have an Airwatch server in place. I have an user and she has an iPhone 5 and she has created some groups in Outlook but these groups are not reflected in her Contacts in the iPhone. I have update her phone with the latest update, although I was almost sure that this was not the issue, then I've found some interesting posts on internet saying that this was a known problem for the users with the previous iOS but I thought this might has been corrected with the iOS, apparently not.
Also I've tried ''the trick'' that is posted on several forums with the iCloud but neither so it's working. I am looking for a straight answer, if this works or not on iPhone's?
    Thanks,
    Sebastian.

There indeed ARE apps in the app store that will do what you want.  Just search and find the one that best fits your needs.

  • I cannot send email from my iPhone.

When I try to send email from my iPhone I get an error message telling me that the email address was rejected by the server. I can receive email with no problem. I must have something wrong in Settings, but all looks OK to me.

try deleting the account and reinputting it.

  • Cannot send emails from my Iphone or Ipad

    Hi
can anybody offer any suggestions please?  Since the switch to BT mail, I have been unable to send emails from my Iphone or Ipad, I get a message saying that my password is not recognised.  I have followed all the instructions on how to reinstall it on my devices including:
If you're able to receive email but get an error message when trying to send a mail (username and password not recognised) please check the correct settings have been automatically set for the outbound server. To do this:
    Go to Settings
    Tap Mail, Contacts and Calendars
Tap on your Account - ‘[email protected]
Again, tap on your account - ‘[email protected]
Scroll down and tap on SMTP
    Tap on Primary Server
Check mail server address is set to 'mail.btinternet.com'
Check Port number is set to '465'
Check SSL encryption is set to 'ON'
However, I am still getting nowhere.  Any advice would be great please.

I have the same problem. Tried calling BT, they were absolutely no help

  • Cannot send email from my iPhone after upgrade to iOS7?

Since I did the first upgrade I receive my incoming email on my iPhone but for outgoing email it gives me a message that the username or password is wrong for SMTP.live.com

Try removing the account, and add it again..
If it still persist, contact the server provider of the email, and ask for the proper info to set it up.
    Regards.
