TS3899 cannot send email from one of my email accounts on my iPad

I am able to receive email on one of my email accounts on my iPad but I cannot send email from that account.  I've obviously missed a step in the set up process but do not know what that step might be.  Can anyone help?  Thanks

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • I sent some emails from one of my email accounts and now it shows that these emails have been simultaneously sent from two of my email accounts

    I sent a few emails from one of my accounts that are set up in my Thunderbird. Now I see that they have been sent from two of my accounts, simultaneously. It shows them in both Sent folders and with the respective email address as sender.
    Those email accounts have been set up in my Thunderbird for a long time now and have been working correctly until now.
    How can I prevent this from happening again? I don't want to send people messages from two different emails at the same time.
    I'd appreciate any help on this.

    In my case, TB is sending a copy of all my sent mail to the account that is associated with the smtp server. I have four accounts that I check via TB and the sent mail is being kept in the original folder and also in the sent folder of the account to which the smtp server is connected. If I change the smtp server from one gmail account to another, the sent mail follows. I then have two copies of the sent email, one in the original folder and one in the smtp server account's sent folder. I only want the one in the original folder. How do I stop the sent email from also being saved in the smtp account sent folder?

  • When I try and send mail from one of two email addresses, it asks me for a password to a google e-mail account I no longer have, so now I can't send any mail

    I have x6 gmail accounts set up on my Thunderbird pop mail. When ever I try and send ANY email from 2 of these accounts ([email protected] & [email protected]) a window pops up and says the following:
    Enter your password for [email protected] on smtp.googlemail.com
    I haven't had that email address for a couple years, and I've tried every password I've ever used with no luck.
    I eventually have to hit cancel, the a new error box pops up that says the following:
    Sending of message failed.
    An error occurred sending mail: Could not get password for smtp.googlemail.com. The message was not sent.
    PLEASE PLEASE help, I need these two address to work. Every other address (x4) through Thunerbird works.

  • I cannot send mail from 1 of my iCloud accounts using mac mail- smtp problem

    Slightly strange problem today with smtp server.  For some reason timing out on po4 on one of my accounts.  Another account uses po2 and is working fine.  If I log in to icloud I can send messages so problem appears to be in configuration of mac mail.  I have not changed anything, I can receive mail.  When trying to change smtp I cannot edit the smtp box or if i do it reverts to what it was previously.  Any suggestions ?

  • Can't delete email from one of three Mail accounts. Why not?

    Haven't changed any settings. Was working fine but now nothing happens when I highlight a message and hit delete. Can send and receive messages without problem. Can't drag message to Trash either. Only one of three accounts seems to be affected. Tried to rebuild the mailbox but when I highlight the account in question, the rebuild option doesn't highlight. Can anyone help with the problem?

    Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

    Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
    If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • How do I specify the gmail outgoing server if I have multiple gmail accounts in my mail? I have 2 business accounts and when I send mail from one account, it is sent from the other account and the sending email is not from the correct account.

    I love my apple email and do not want to use google mail on safari. However, I have 2 gmail accounts set up on apple mail, but when I send mail from one of my gmail accounts (I choose the specific gmail account in the drop down window), it actually goes out as if it is from the other gmail account. I can't have that happen because one is my job, the other is a personal business account and unfortunately, the mail from both gmail accounts want to send through the personal business account. How do I make it send from a specific gmail account? I even tried deleting the accounts and setting them up again hoping I set it up wrong in the first place, but to no avail, it is still doing the same thing except this time I set the job account up first and then the personal business account and now everything goes from the job account! The only good thing is that the incoming messages work properly and they go into the correct inbox. Somebody please fix my outbox!

    In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account.  The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
    Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

  • VersaMail on TX crashes / resets on email from one sender

    Hi;  My VersaMail crashes and soft reboots my TX when I attempt to open or delete emails from one particular sender.  VersaMail works fine with email from other senders.  The only way I have found to get rid of this person's emails is to delete my email account from the TX and recreate a new account.  An ideal solution will be a way to delete corrupt emails from VersaMail without having to delete the entire account.  Other than requesting this person never send me an email again, I will appreciate any recommendations.  Thanks.

    Since this issue is happening from specifc sources, safe to say its content in the e-mail the PDA cannot read.  Couple basic things to cover:
    1.  Make sure to have at least 4mb free space on PDA.
    2.  Try another mail provider like gmail to fwd these e-mails there and have the PDA retrieve them via that acct to see how that fairs.
    Afterwards Id like to know:
    1.  How big are these e-mails?
    2.  Do they have attachments?  If so what are they and how big are they?
    3.  In the Versamail preferences under Delivery Options, are you:
    a.  Getting the entire message?
    b.  Auto downloading attachments checked?
    c.  Maximun message size still at 5kb or has that been increased?
    d.  Message format in HTML or Text?
    4.  These e-mails adds?
    5.  These e-mails loaded with alot of pictures and/or other flashy content?
    For troubleshooting, Id like to have the Message format changed from HTML to Text to make those e-mail less complex to see how that fairs.  Next thing is make sure your only getting the e-mail header first rather the whole e-mail in preferences.  This could save you from replication and sudden loss of memory on PDA.  Keep me posted.

  • Cannot send an email from my alias Mobile Me account from the iPhone.

    I have a Mobile Me email account which works perfectly on my Mac and iPhone. I created a an Alias Mobile Me Account on the web.
    I am able to create a new email from the alias account on the Mac.
    The iPhone will not recognize the alias account, I cannot add it or sync the account.
    I cannot send an email from my alias Mobile Me account from the iPhone.

    To all frustrated MobileMe alias owners who want to send email from iPhone - please go to the feedback area of the apple.com and leave messages regarding this issue. I had a lengthy conversation with a tech support guy who agreed that this is a needed fix - he said to initiate a grass roots effort - and that by all of us leaving messages it will eventually get attention and fixed. Why would Apple give us the ability to create alias's, use them on mobileme website, on our mac mail programs, but NOT the iPhone, which is the MOBILE device. Silly. Please protest!! Thanks.

  • I am sending an email from one account on iphone 4s but the replies are coming into another account on my phone

    I have had an iphone 4s for about a year and have 4 email accounts that come in on it: verizon, gmail, my work, and icloud.  Periodically, I send an email from one account, it shows the message as sent from that account in my sent mail, but the recipient receives it from the gmail account and therefore replies to the gmail.  Has anyone had this happen?  It is almost as if my messages are bouncing into gmail when I send them, although on my phone it shows as having been sent from another account.  I have not had this happen on my computer where I have all of these emails coming in as well.  I thought perhaps it was me not being careful about which account I was sending from when using my phone, but the mail I sent this morning I was very careful to make sure was from verizon, the sent mail on my phone shows it was sent from verizon, and the reply came in on gmail.  Gmail isn't even the default email address- verizon is! My iphone is using version 6.1.3. Does anyone have any ideas? This is a major problem for me so I appreciate any ideas!  Thank you!!!

    I am not sure whether this is related, but I had a problem with Gmail where each time I sent and email via my iPhone it would bounce back in my Gmail account as unread. You migh want to check this Google article explaining why this happens and how to avoid it:

  • Email from *one sender* shows up twice (but isn't delivered twice)

    Today the emails from one particular sender started showing up twice in the view pane of Mac Mail. They aren't delivered twice - just show up as though two copies have come in. If I delete one copy then both disappear.
    There is nothing special about this particular sender - she is not a "VIP". We have been corresponding for several weeks without anything odd happening.
    I'm running 10.9.5 on my MBP and use POP accounts in Mail. The account to which she is using to contact me is via my personally-owned domain. I receive hundreds of emails on a daily basis to that email address and have no issues with other senders. She is using her personally-owned domain for email as well.
    Any ideas on what is happening?
    For what it's worth, since upgrading to this OS Google Chrome - particularly when using Facebook or performing Google searches - has slowed dramatically. I'll address that in a separate post but thought it was worth mentioning here in case it's related.

    See my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers. Certain combinations of data can cause iPods to display multiple albums even when iTunes doesn't.
    Alternatively there may have been a syncing issue which left orhpaned entries in the iPods database. Try swiping across the album and deleting both copies, then resyncing.

    As Ernie said, you need to create an SMTP server for each gmail account with the correct username and password. Be sure the correct server for each account is listed in the SMTP box and check the box to use only that server for that account.
    Gmail's default behavior when sending from one account through another account's outgoing server is to change the address to the server which is used. Same goes if I send a message from my ATT/Yahoo account and use gmail's server to send through. It will change the ATT address to the gmail address.
    There is an option in gmail's settings under the Account's tab under Send Mail As. You can add different gmail or other accounts such as Yahoo to this and choose how the gmail server handles it. You can set it to send as the sending account and not change the address. I've used this many times for my ATT account for sending through gmail when ATT accounts were having problems.
    You can add the different accounts to each gmail account you have.

    In Mail preferences under composing tab, check to see what you have for sending new messages from.
    You can also check the account settings and make sure you have the correct SMTP server for each account and the correct settings for each. Also check the box to use only that server for the account so it doesn't switch to another accounts server without asking if there is a failure with one.

    3rd party email addresses have to be deleted on every synmced mac product, although I have 1and1.co.uk and my imac updatetes the mails in that account from mac mail.
    Yahoo etc is a 2 step deleting process but good to get your emails pushed when on the go.
