TS3899 Cannot send emails - can receive them ok

Hi everyone I am having trouble sending emails I can receive them ok but when trying to send them they just stay in my out box. I have tried resetting, turning off ect but this doesn't work can anyone help?

    hi everyone,
    I have the problem that I cannot send any emails but I can send any. It says it is not possible to use the standard gates and advices us to use another gate. But no matter what gate we are trying, all of the gates are staying offline. We used different gate types (25, 587, 995,110), we tried all of the POP and SMTP configuration but it won't work.
    Does anybody have any suggestions that could help us?

    I am able to receive emails; however, when I send an email via my iPhone or iPad, the email does not get delivered and does not show up in my sent or draft folders. This is happening with all of my email accounts - gmail and exchange accounts. It seems to have started after a recent software upgrade to iOS 7.0.6

    Delete the account(s) and add them back.
    If the issue persists, basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

    I have contacted three more people that made the upgrade and they have the same problem. My advise is not to upgrade until Apple solves the serious issue, I would hate to have to re-install Outlook...

    I can send e-mails just fine with apple mail on yosemite...
    Might not be a generic problem but rather a personal problem..
    You should try find a fix rather than waiting on apple.
    Hopefully somebody can help you out.
    More than happy to help with your settings/preference pain... And compare mine with yours...
    If you send some screenshots... I can send you my equivalent... So maybe you can figure it out.
    Is it a gmail or icloud email acount? Can be of more help if it is.

    BTW. I have seen posts suggesting age of Mac has an affect. Mine is MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
    The mail I am having problems send is Exchange and google mail. The google client I re-installed and this had no affect.

    The user name and password are in two places. Make  sure they are correct in both locations.
    Settings>>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>>your email>>
    First spot is here under INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Below this is OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
    Select: SMTP smtp.comcast.net>> PRIMARY SERVER :smtp.comcast.net>>second location of user name and password
    Here is the second place that the user name and password must be checked.
    I had changed my password in the first spot, but not the second spot. I had been receiving the same error message. This fixed my problem.

    I am able to receive email on one of my email accounts on my iPad but I cannot send email from that account.  I've obviously missed a step in the set up process but do not know what that step might be.  Can anyone help?  Thanks

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    check your smtp settings they need to match the settings required by internet carrier wifi or 3G carrier depending on which is in use

    I have just upgraded to the 5s from 4s and I cannot send emails anymore although I can receive them. My email account still works on my ipad. I have deleted the account a few times and reset the phone completely but still no joy. Any ideas what to do next?

    Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Your Account > Account Name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and enter your email account and password. Make sure things are filled in properly.

    My curve won't let me write emails...I can receive them, but if I try to answer to an email I can choose the option 'answer' but then I don't have any 'send' button... if I try to send a new message, well I can write it and send it, but then it comes back with a red cross...<I was never able to send a mail..Please note I have the phone since 2010 but never cared too much about the problem.Now I'd like  to solve the problem!!

    I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.
    Occam's Razor nearly always applies when troubleshooting technology issues!

    Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

  • Smtp offline cannot send mails can receive

    Cannot send mails from mac mail continues to show smtp offline however i can only receive mails, at my wits end

    Try the Mailbox menu and select Take all accounts offline, then select Take all accounts online.
    If this does not work, you should call your email provider. They may have changed their settings for SMTP, or you may be on a different network that requires different settings.
