TS3899 mail, contacts and calendars do not open in my Ipad

When I press contacts it close immediately and I canot open the Mail, Contacts and Calendars in the settings. Please help me

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.

Hey all! I posted this question in the iTunes section, but did not get any response, so I shall ask it here and see if I get a response. Whenever I sync my iPhone, stuff like MDCrashReporterTool and AppleMobileSync will "quit unexpectedly". Thus, my calendars, mail and contacts will not sync. I've tried stuff from downloading the Mac OS X 10.5.6 combo updater and installed it to reinstalling iTunes 8.0.2, but to no avail. Does anybody here have an answer or require more information? TIA!

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select your MobileMe account.
Turn Calendars off for over the air syncing.
A warning message will be provided indicating this will delete all calendars and calendar events from your iPhone. You should also be provided a prompt to save the data locally on your iPhone. If so, save this data locally.
Follow this by turning Calendars back on for over the air syncing. You should be provided a merge prompt which you want to select.
Test if this resolves it.

That's not the correct port. It should be 993 for incoming.
If you signed into iCloud from the System Preferences, it should automatically create the iCloud account for you in Mail. Sounds like it is an account you already had set up for MMe in Mail.
Open Mail preferences, open the Accounts tab, disable that account in the advanced pane.
Open Sys Prefs, open the iCloud tab, and sign out of iCloud. Then sign back in and see if a new iCloud account is automatically created.

Mail, Contacts and Calendars in Settings crashes; Contacts app is blank

First issue - since upgrading my iPad2 to iOS5, the Mail, Contacts and Calendars in Settings crashes. All other options in Settings are fine - only issues is with Mail, Contacts and Calenders crashing.
Second issue - I am using iCloud to sync contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks. Everything (except Contacts) sync perfectly between my Mac (home), Win7 PC Outlook (work) and iCloud, but I am unable to see the contact data on the iPad. When I open the Contacts app I get the 2 page layout but it is blank with no data, no buttons, no groups and no formatting. After sitting at this blank view for a few seconds it crashes to the Home screen. I know the contact data is in the iPad as contacts can be found through Message, Mail and through the iPad Search. It has not however synced with any changed data.
I have performed a hard reset numerous times, and restored the iPad. I have manually closed the Contacts and Settings apps through the task bar. I have also attempted to manually sync the contact data via USB with my Mac, but Contacts are still out of sync and crashes on launch.
Any advice or solutions appreciated.

Seems like there is a few dramas with syncing through iCloud at the moement - hopefully Apple get this sorted with an update ASAP. Im using Outlook 2010 and didnt have any worries at that end, all the unsynced data and crashing was on the iPad. Good lesson in all this, make sure backups are in place - thanksfully I didnt lose any data either.
I managed to fix my sync problems and crashing Settings. Not sure what the specific solution was but it involved -
Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings
Reset iPad to factory and then restore from back-up
Turned off iCloud
Reset my Apple id password
Backed up all my contacts from Mac Contacts and then reimported them
Synced my iPad through iTunes, syncing the contacts (with the option 'Replace everything on the iPad')
Re-enbaled iCloud sync on the iPad
The Mail, Contacts and Calendars panel in Settings no longer crashes, and all my data is again syncing perfectly across the Win7 Outlook 2010, the Mac Contacts app and the iPad Contacts app.
It felt like a bit of a black-magic solution, and I'm still not sure what the underlying cause of my issues was. Fingers crossed it all hangs together until the next iOS update.

Best way to move Mail, Contacts, and Calendars

I'm adding an additional server to my network to distribute some of my services and I would like to move the mail, contacts, and calendar services to this new server. It will be a ML machine running 10.8.5 with Server 2.2.1. I have these services already running on another server also running ML 10.8.5 and server 2.2.1.
What's the best way to move the data between these two machines? Any suggestion are greatly appreciated!

Mail: mailboxes from /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail can be moved using command line
- Note the correspondence between mailbox folder name(hexadecimal) and user name, can be extracted using Directory tool)
- Also if u want to have the same username - hexa key maybe you should export the OD. Personally I would just rename old folder to new hexa key)
- Do not forget to also check(mimic) the folder group/owner rights
Calendar&Contacts: Use Export and Import.
I honestly think this are the best ways (fast&clean).
Also I think they are safe, mail 100% is transferred and for Calendar&Contacts I am not aware of any data that can be lost during export-import.
(of course you can also replicate your server using DiskUtility create new image, and then deactivate unwanted services)

Difference between Accounts in Address Book and iCal vs Mail, Contacts and Calendars Accounts?

Trying to wrap my head around iCloud's capabilites right now.
In System Prefs, there is the Mail, Contacts and Calendars setting. In there, I can set up syncing with contacts and calendars via a Google account there. However, when I open up iCal (aka calendars) and Address Book (aka contacts), they ALSO have their own seemingly independent syncing options.
I'd ideally like to keep a copy of my contacts and calendars synced through Google and iCloud.
What is the optimal way to do this?

Why does the iCloud Control Panel say "Install Outlook to use Mail, Contacts, and Calendars?"

I've just successfully installed the iCloud Control Panel on my PC (runs with Vista). Why does the iCloud Control Panel say "Install Outlook to use Mail, Contacts, and Calendars?" The Bookmarks (with Safari) and Photo Stream options are active, but the Mail (with Outlook), Contacts (with Outlook),and Calendars and Tasks (with Outlook) are not. I'm using Office Outlook 2007. I used to be able to synch my iPhone with my PC's Outlook through iTunes without any problems. Any help would be appreciated.

So you have business contacts that were lost... do you not have these on a Database in some shape or form? Sounds like you need to invest in a RAID1 backup setup for your computer so you dont have this issue in the future.
As for repairing your problem, sounds like you are going to need to start from scratch at this point or if the data is still on your phone look into a program that can take the information from the phone onto iTunes.

Duplicate accounts in Mail, Contact and Calendar

I found that I have duplicate accounts in Mail, Contacts and Calendar. When I try to delete them from within those apps, System Preferences - iCloud is launched. Within iCloud there are no duplicates, so there is nothing to delete. How do I delete the duplicates in the individual apps?

Well, it looks like you’ll have to do some kind of Reset Sync Data in System Preferences > .Mac > Advanced, e.g. from the .Mac server to the PowerBook, maybe after quitting Mail and moving com.apple.mail.plist out of ~/Library/Preferences/...

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. How to insure that contacts and calendar are NOT synced with ICloud?

I do not understand, why it is not possible anymore to sync your contacts and calendar data between your mac book and your mobile devices using USB cable.
I also heard that with Maverick and Itunes 11.1.2 you can not sync anything using USB anymore, is that true?
Why is it not possible to let the customer decide how to sync their data? Why not leaving both options?
In case it is true that with Maverick and Itunes 11.1.2 you are not able to sync using USB anymore, does anybody know a good app to sync your photos and address data between your computer and mobile devices?

Yesterday I synced some Photos from my macbook to my IPad and wondered why I had the photos twice. I realized that my IPad had ICloud enabled, after disabling ICloud one picture folder (Photostream) was gone. What do do to avoid that my MacBook is sending Photos to ICloud?
However, when I opened ICloud today, I did not find photos, but I found some address data from my MacBook in the Cloud.
I do not want to have my contacts and calendar data anywhere else on a server.
Any help would be appreciated.

Connect your phone to your computer using the USB power cable that you charge your phone with.
Launch iTunes, it will go thru the normal sync back up progress bar thing at the top, let it finish.
Then
double click on the phone in the left side bar then click INFO at the top of that pane, it will allow you select what you want to sync (contacts,calendar,etc) make your selections and click apply, then click sync. There buttons along the top for different functions (Movies, Apps, etc) just make sure that you do not have anything checked (like your whole music library) that will not fit on the phone.

i have a 4gb iphone that i bought in july. since updating to 1.1.3 i am unable to sync contacts and calendar. i have tried turning phone off and on, ejecting, unplugging, repluggin, and even a full restore, still am unable to sync my contacts and calendar. anyone haveing a similar problem? any help would greatly appreciated, thank you for your time

I, too, have this problem since updating my 8GB iPhone to 1.1.3. I primarily sync my iPhone with my Tiger-running Powerbook G4, where my calendars, contacts, and music files are.However, I followed your direction of resetting iSync, and it did not work. I, then, plugged my iPhone into my Tiger-running MacBook Pro and it worked (and I did not reset iSync). Maybe this problem is due to Intel vs. PowerPC?
We need to alert Apple. I have to go get this figured out for me... I will be visiting the Genius Bar this weekend because I can't be syncing my contacts, and such, on my MacBook Pro 24/7.
