What mail provider do you use and you get that message always?

This happened today out of the blue. I was having problems with my Yahoo account stalling on my iMac so decided to change over to iCloud...
After sending the first email sucessfuly telling everyone of the change I got "The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server p05-smtp.mail.me.com"
After much frustration and time I eventually set up a new outgoing server...
Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Outgoing Mail Server SMTP / (drop down select) Edit SMTP server list/ +new and double click and enter 'smtp.mail.me.com'/ then select Advanced tab/ check, use default ports/ check use SSL/Authentication - Password/ enter username and password/click okay to retuen to Preferences/Select 'smtp.mail.me.com...etc' as outgoing mail server and select TLS com.apple...etc certificate /Save
This has cured the problem for me, but seems like a bit of a farce really.
On iPad and iPhone it's pretty much the same deal but it's slightly different.
    Settings/iCloud/Account/Advanced/Mail (allow sending from [email protected]) / Outgoing Mail Server/Primary Server (set to off)/Add server/Host Name - enter 'smtp.mail.me.com' /username & Password/SSL set to On/Authentication - set to Password/Server port 587
All of this worked for me so I hope I save someone the same headache I had ALL DAY! So freakish that this ahppened to a all deivces in one day unless there is a coms problem with Icloud here, but everything else works...I hope...

  • All of a sudden I can't send or receive messages on iPad. Iphone is working fine. It gives me "message failed to send" and is green instead of blue. The only thing I have done differently is turn iCloud on in my iPhone.

cant receive or send messages on my iPad. Keep getting "message failed to send" and it is green instead of blue. This happened after I turned on iCloud on my iPhone. Would that have anything to do with this problem? It's like its not sincing to my phone but I can send & receive emails ok.

iOS 7.1.2, huh? It MAY be having some trouble with the iOS 8.x devices and latest iCloud features. Although it meets the minimum system requirements, it does not meet the recommended ones - System requirements for iCloud - Apple Support
You should try Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support - this is generally the first step in troubleshooting, all devices - for all time
    Message Colors
    Blue is iMessage (Apple service)
    Green is SMS (Carrier service)
What happens when you use your iPad similarly? (what iPad model & iOS version)
As a last resort*, Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support - *this document tells that all your data will be lost but provides steps to back-up (Before section) then restore your data (Restore section #4)

  • "Message Failed To Send," but it actually sends it 6 times!

This started happening this morning. Whenever I try to send a text, whether it be a regular text or iMessage, I keep getting a message saying "Message Failed To Send," and then it has a red exclamation point by the message and it says "Not Delivered." If that's not annoying enough, the recipients are actually receiving the message 6 times! Is anyone else having this issue? I'm using a [brand new] iPhone 5S on AT&T service, if that matters. I'm about to throw this iPhone at the wall...  HELP!

Throwing it at the wall will certainly stop it from sending the message six times, along with everything else. First thing to do is reset the phone, following the procedure outlined below.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Message failed to send

Message failed to send but has arrived

I am having the same problem. It only seems to occur when I'm including a photo in the message. It says "Message failed to send," but it usually goes through.

  • Text messages fail to send

Periodically, text messages seem to hang for a long period of time in the "sending" status.  Then I get an error message that says the message failed to send. When I check with the recipient, they usually say they did receive the message.  Sometimes they say they received the same message three times.
I cannot see a pattern for when these failures occur.  It has happened when I have one bar and when I have 4 bars.  It has happened when I'm connected to 3G or 4G, and when I'm connected to wifi.

We want to see those picture messages flying again! Does the wireless signal appear strong when attempting the message? What Messaging app are you using myustbedumb? Are you also using a Network Extender?
    Thank you,

  • Messages fail to send constantly..

I always have 3/4 bars of 4G. if I send a text message more and more often it comes up message failed to send, I've tried putting my phone on aeroplane mode and send the message again but it doesn't work.. any ideas?

Are phone calls ok? There seems to be a lot of issues with signal around at the mo?
First of give it the good old fashion turn off and on again, is it all messages that fail?
If it isn't, go to message, tap details in top right corner, then the i next to the contacts name, this will show you the contact card for that person, the number/email address it is trying to send to will be highlighted blue.
Normal text messages (green text bubble in message app) will only go to numbers not email addresses, and iMessage will only go to other iOS devices via number or email (blue text bubble)

Whenever i try and send an imessage to someone that has an iphone it gets stuck at times and won't go through. I then have to send it as a basic text and then it will respond message failed to send what should i do when it does this i need help

The use of iMessage depends on both the sender and the receiver having an active data connection. If either of the two connections are interrupted, the message can fail. The sending of an iMessage differs from the sending of an SMS, and if you are having SMS failures, that would be a carrier concern.

  • HT1430 Error message - exceeded send limit for iCloud account- when I did not exceed limit

I can not send any email mesages from my iPhone 4 using my icloud account.  Every time I send a new message it copys to my outbox and an error message states - "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message failed because you exceeded your sending limit." I researched the limites for an iCloud account and I have not come close to the uper limites - HELP!

    Hello JC,
I would check out this section of the article named iCloud: Mailbox size and message sending limits found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4863
If you continue to exceed message sending limits, try the following methods to resolve the issue:
Check your Mail Outbox to see if it contains a backlog of messages. Resend or delete messages here that may be continuing to try to send.
Check to see if you have any network monitoring software that might be using your iCloud account to automatically send messages, such as firewalls or internet security software configured to send an alert when a potential security issue is detected.
If you send messages to groups, make sure all email addresses in the group are valid. (For example, is the recipient's email address spelled correctly?
    Take care,

  • Exceeded sending limit

When trying to send an email on my iphone, I keep getting the following message:
"A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message failed because you exceeded you sending limit."
When I contacted my carrier, they told me I couldn't send more than 200 emails in a 24 hour period.  I haven't even
sent a dozen emails in 24 hours.
Anyone know how to fix this?

    Ya, I meant note.
A failed message that's been repeatedly trying to send likely caused the issue, if you are certain you are within the limits noted here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4863
It will reset in 24hrs.  If not, give apple a ring:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • TS4002 exceeded sending limit??

when trying to send mail "A copy has been placed in your outbox.Sending the message failed because you exceeded your sending limit" pops up.

These are the limits for iCloud mail - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4863
If not using an iCloud account, you need to check with your email provider as to what the limits for thier services are.

  • My Nokia message fails to send after reinstall of ...

    Hi there,
I'm posting to ask whether anybody has encountered this issue and whether anyone knows of any fixes to fix this issue. After doing a reinstall of the phone's firmware as mentioned in another post on the forum, the My Nokia message keeps failing to send and keeps getting stuck in my Outbox, I'm able to send other messages in which some contacts are able to receive them whereas some of them can't for some strange reason and don't arrive in which I am trying to resolve this problem. The SIM I currently have in the phone is a Lycamobile micro SIM which is converted into a full sized SIM using a micro to full SIM converter, could this be the culprit of the problem? I've tried this method for many months and have only encountered 1 person not receiving a message for me but this was a one off though and hasn't happened for a couple of months, this was when I was test trialing Vodafone as I currently own many free SIMs and want to try them all out on the various phones I currently own over 2 to 3 years in order to test signal coverage across many places I travel on a regular basis such as Manchester, Carlisle etc. Your continuous help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim

    Hi EAaspa,
I checked the signal strength on my phone screen and it has full bars displaying, I have even moved to another area to get better reception and still the same happens as before. I've also checked the message centre settings on my phone with my network operator and they are correct. I have also sent a text message to my own phone number and the text was sent and received fine. I do recall Vodafone sending out a text on Tuesday to one of my Vodafone mobile numbers (presume the same applies to all Vodafone numbers) saying "We're upgrading the network in your area. This means there may be around 2-3 days disruption over the next 6 weeks. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and we'll let you know when the work's complete. For more information on the network in your area, see our coverage checker at http://vdfn.co/pe5ka". I know the person who I have been trying to send texts to is on Vodafone and lives in a rural area where she needs to use a Vodafone Signal box to provide a phone signal for her phone, it could be possibly be this causing problems but the weird thing is though that I am able to send texts from my Lycamobile number to one of my Vodafone mobile numbers and from my Vodafone mobile number to my Lycamobile and both send and receive texts fine whereas if I send her texts from my Lycamobile number to her mobile number she doesn't receive them at all even though the phone says they were sent properly i.e. disappear from Outbox and generate copies in the sent items whereas if she sends texts from her mobile number to my Lycamobile number I receive them fine?
With regards to the My Nokia message problem I think the 84000 number no longer works as Microsoft have been making changes to their servers including the old Nokia servers where they have been turning off SSL 3.0 and enabling TLS 1.0 instead due to a number of security breaches happening on various websites this year in particular as I have noticed this on quite a number of websites and prevented me from logging into Nokia Suite 3.8 on a few of our PCs, I resolved this by using the following link http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Online-services-from-Nokia-Nokia/Can-t-sign-in-to-Nokia-account-via-... I'll confirm whether the 84000 number works for My Nokia messages as soon as I have sometime to test this on my other Nokia 5230 after doing a soft reset, hard reset and reinstall.
Anyway thank you for responding to my forum thread and for suggesting fixes on how to resolve my problem, and I'll keep you informed of how I get on.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim
