TS3899 Outgoing Mail goes into an outbox. I cannot access it

I have tried everything the help communities suggest. Nothing works. Nearly every day something winds up in the outbox for no discernible reason. How can I access mail in the outbox, edit it and send it? Judging from the number of questions about this problem on the websites, it is a common problem. Most of the time there is no answer to the questions posted about this problem. I have had no luck asking Apple Support.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

If it's because you were using Office 2004, the eight year old version of Office that was written when Intel processors were not used in Macs, then there will be no fix. Lion dropped support for PowerPC applications, as has been widely reported since Lion's release last August.
You can upgrade Office 2004 to Office 2008 or Office 2011. You can use iWorks 2009 that can open Microsoft files. You can use a number of free applications that are also capable of working with Microsoft documents. You can go back to Snow Leopard, if you have a backup. Or, if you have an external drive or room to add a partition to your current drive, you can install Snow Leopard on it.
Search these forums for more information. If this is your issue, it's been posted and answered several times a day since August 2011.

Can't send mail, goes into Outbox only

Starting last night Apple Mail stopped sending mail. I have three mail accounts with different smtp servers I can use with smtp.comcast.net being my default. But all at once I can't send using any of them. All the accounts are online. Connection Doctor shows all servers as Okay. When I send an email nothing appears to happen i.e. no sound, no message box etc. But the message does go into the Outbox. If I select it in the Outbox and try to resend it, nothing happens. I can receive mail fine. Also I have four other users on this Mac and there email is working fine. So no network or firewall issues going on.

It might be a pretty white box but it can save you *** one day. Home owners insurance is just a piece of pretty white paper you hope you never have to use. How many people do you know who's house burned down? I've had Mac's since the original 128K. I've had four drive go bad on me in all these years. My sister has had two and my brother has had one. Hard drive are really cheap now a days not to be using Time Machine. I can't imagine why you can't get yours to work. Apple made it brain dead simple. I've set them up for a number of people.
To get Time Machine to work make sure the drive is partitioned as a GUID and formatted as journaled Mac OS Extended.

Incoming mail going into Drafts folder

I don't have any mail rules set. I get hundreds of emails a day all going to my Inbox (or Junk). Mail from one particular sender goes into my Drafts folder so I usually miss it. How can I stop this?

I have tons of emails suddenly going into my junk folder, but they are not even being marked as junk email. These are emails that used to always come in fine. You should ask your email service provider for support. Firefox rarely has any kind of influence over this matters.

All mail going into junk folder, 'Rules' not working

All my new email is going into the Junk mail folder, even some old emails from one folder. Plus, my Rules aren't working when I apply them.

Found out the problem lies with SpamSieve - once I unchecked it in Rules, everything's back to normal. I guess there's not a Leopard-compatible version yet, but what a great service it is.

My mail goes directly to outbox instead of sending.

When I try to send mail, it goes to my outbox and never gets sent. I try to send from outbox and can not so that either. I am not tech savvy so if anyone can help me in simple terms, I would REALLY appreciate it.

All mail going into spam folder

After upgrading to Lion all mail going straight to spam folder, even the addresses saved in address book. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Is the folder actually called "Spam" or do you mean the "Junk" folder?
A "Spam" folder is not part of Mail, while a "Junk" folder is.
If it is going to "Junk" then check for any Rules in Mail preferences that might be causing it. If there aren't any, try Resetting the Junk email filters in the Junk Mail tab of preferences.
If it is "Spam," then check with Gmail or whatever email service you are using that is routing it there at the server level.

Received mail going into Adobe Media Player

Some multiple document emails are going into Adobe Media Player as if they were video. These files and/or documents are forms that need to be filed out and returned. Cannot open them in Adobe. It says: Playback Failed. There was an error while playing this video. ?s These are sent from a Mac to a Mac. These are not videos.

TS3899 outgoing mail will not send after I changed my password

I changed my password for my mail account and now I can only receive email but cannot send.

My outgoing mail server settings for my domain email (Imap compliant) have spontaneously changed a couple of times now, and it seems to be related to when I update my iPhone software. Has anyone else experienced this?

Who is your e-mail provider?
It depends on your e-mail provider, check their website for outgoing port.
Try 587.

When I tap the mail button on my iPad I cannot access any of my email accounts. I know I have mail it also hits my cell phone.

I cannot access my email accounts when I tap the mail icon on my iPad. I know I have mail, it also goes to my cell. I can get into my mail through the browser but I shouldn't have to go through the hassle when all I need to do is tap on the mail icon to retrieve my Mail. Please help.

Ok let's try the simple things first, take it through a power cycle, power off after a minute or two, power on. Hold the power/sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to power off. Then hold the power/sleep button until it powers back up.
If that doesn't help, try a reset, holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts (ignore the red slider in this case).
If that doesn't work we can work through deleting and reentering the email account information.
