TS3899 trouble deleting emails from yahoo

I can't seem to search for a series of emails in yahoo, then delete them? I check off all emails and hit delete and the check marks go away and nothing gets deleted.

It seems that a restart has fixed this issue.  No more problems with the swipe delete.

  • IPhone 4 deleting email from Yahoo server

Just upgraded to iPhone 4 from the original one. Noticed that when I delete email from my Yahoo account, the messages are also deleted from the server and can not be retrieved from my iMac/iBook. This did NOT happen with my old iPhone. Tried re-entering my Yahoo account but it is still happening. Any suggestions? Thanks

Found the solution. Delete the Yahoo account. Create a new "Yahoo" account using the "Other" e-mail account setting. Called it "Yahoo1". After providing the normal Yahoo set-up information, my iPhone went into the "verifying" mode and after some time (checking the settings with Yahoo) it created the account on my iPhone. Went to the "advanced" setting and got a different screen then with the original Yahoo account. This screen had an option "delete from server", which I set for never and now everything is working fine.
Again, I did NOT get this screen when using the normal default Yahoo account set-up. Only using "other" did I get this option.

  • Deleting Email from Yahoo Account

I have tried searching the previous discussions before asking this question. Please excuse the redundancy if you have seen it before.
I have a Yahoo POP email account linked to Mail. It seems to be sending and receiving properly. When I delete an email in Mail I would like it to also delete the email in Yahoo. I have tried deleting the email in Mail and deleting the trash. I still cannot get the original email in Yahoo to delete. Are my expectations too high?
    Thanks, Brandon.

    Have you checked the following:
    First, check your settings in Mail preferences - Click on Advanced Tab and choose "immediately" under the "remove copy from server after retrieving a message";
If the problem persists, check settings within your online Yahoo account settings.

  • TS3899 Trouble deleting emails with swipe

Latest version,7.0.4 has quirks in email.  When I try to swipe left and delete, the delete button disappears faster than I can click it.
It also seems to reset power on the phone on its own.  What's up?

It seems that a restart has fixed this issue.  No more problems with the swipe delete.

  • I am unable to delete my emails from yahoo after I have read them.  I can check an email and press delete but the email remains and I am collecting a lot.  what should I do?

I am unable to delete my emails from yahoo after I have read them.  What should I be doing to correct this problem?

    marjoriefrommm,
First go to mail preferences>accounts>mailbox behavior and under trash click "move deleted messages to the trash mailbox, the delete them from there.
Also got to your Yahoo mail and check your settings there.

  • Deleting emails from my yahoo account

I have an issue when deleting emails from my yahoo account on my Mac.  For some reason, I'll highlight the email(s) I want to delete, and hit the delete key.  The email won't delete until it's highlighted again and I hit delete again.  It has been doing this for a while and only does it when I access Yahoo on my Mac, and only my yahoo account.  Does anybody have an idea of what might be the issue?

Are you using Mac Mail or going straight to Yahoo Mail using your browser...?
I never use Mac Mail so can't offer much help with it. If you are, try going straight to Sign in to Yahoo from your browser and see if you can correctly delete any unwanted messages that way.

How do I delete email from my iphone (using ios7&)?

    Hello, Casey01.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps on how to delete mail in iOS 7.
Delete, move, or mark multiple messages. While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select some messages, then choose an action. If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.
In the mail list, swipe left across a message, then tap Delete.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Anyone know how to delete emails from trash folder?

I have hada Droid phone for about 6 months.  When I delete emails from my inbox it goes to a "trash" file (similiar to trash file in Outlook).  It is getting full.  Any idea how to delete from trash folder.  My wife also bought the same phone but she does not have a trash file.  No one at our verizon store can answer my question as to how to delete from trash folder and don't seem to know how I have a trash folder on my email account.

I'd go on the P.C. side of your Mail and start clearing it will clean what's on the phone and the Computer i have done this Many time on my Gmail and Yahoo.. b33

  • How to delete email from iPhone ONLY and not from server?

Hi. I have a Yahoo! POP mail account.. Can anyone advise me how to setup my iPhone so it ONLY deletes email from the iPhone and NOT the server. So, after I read an email on the iPhone and delete it, the email remains in the INBOX on the server? If not, I will send a feedback to Apple. BTW - I can dl and send email just fine. Thank you.

    ampullae,
When you setup Yahoo on the iPhone it defaults to IMAP because Yahoo offers free IMAP Push for iPhone users, as discussed in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305882
If you add your Yahoo account as "other" it will be setup as POP.
With IMAP messages are stored on the server, and messages created in one email client, such as the iPhone, show up in the sent mailbox on both. In addition messages moved to a different folder on the iPhone, will be in a different folder when you access your Yahoo mail via a web browser or another IMAP client. Likewise message you delete, will also be synchronized and deleted.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • My iPhone 5 suddenly started re-downloading all previously deleted emails from my POP accounts

Yesterday, my iPhone 5 started re-downloading all previously deleted emails from my POP email accounts. I use the native Mail app and have three POP emails set up on my phone. The number of messages downloaded across all of them is over 1,000 so far and date back over several months. One of these is a Yahoo account, the others are work email accounts provided by two different hosting companies. I have not changed anything on any of these three accounts at the server/hosting level. I also run an IMAP account on my phone, which has not been affected, so this is obviously a POP-only issue. I started to delete the messages only to discover that older messages were downloaded in their place. There appears to be a cap of 250 messages downloaded at a time, but there's no way to change this in the phone's settings (this used to be a feature, but disappeared some time ago).
I'm on iOS8.3 (upgraded a month ago with no affect on email). I have not changed any of my phone's email settings, so I don't understand why this has happened out of the blue. I have checked the phone's email settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to limit the number of messages downloaded.
    Does anyone know:
    a. why this has happened, and
    b. how I get it to stop?
    Thanks!

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

  • Can't delete email from iphone

has anyone noticed problems in the last 30 days an inability to delete email from the phone? I have rebuilt mailboxes to make sure I didn't have some weird sync feature clicked and it's not working. Very annoying.

Because you're having problems with both Yahoo IMAP and MS Exchange, also with the Calendar sync too, I would imagine it to be a problem with your iPhone and not a server side problem.
Have you tried defaulting the iPhone to factory defaults? (Backup data beforehand!)

  • My popups won't work. Ex....I can't print an email from Yahoo. Popup blocker is turned off

I just got a pc with windows 8 and I can't use firefox as I can't print emails from yahoo for example....i am assuming that's a popup window that isn't working, but i have pop ups enabled.

Usually Firefox's built-in popup blocker won't block a window if you clicked a link or button to open it. It is designed to block windows that open without you taking a specific action.
One possibility is that the link/button is in a part of the page that is "blocked" by an invisible element. Another possibility is that the script that opens the window is not running correctly.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
