i start the installation as oracle and my group and user id is

unable to receive mail after transfer to iCloud? is there a bug preventing @ME.COM, MAC.COM FROM BEING RECOGNIZED?

10.6.8 - which is what your signature says you have - cannot access iCloud's facilities - you would have been warned during the migration process that 10.7.2 was required - but it is possible to set Mail up manually to access your iCloud email. The process is described here:

TS3899 unable to change mail account password on phone

Hi, I had to change my password on my bt email account due to someone breaking into my account and now my iphone won't receive my emails anymore. When I go into settings/mail, contacts, calendars - the account mail settings section is grayed out so I can't get in to change my password on myi phone. Help anyone??

I just upgraded my iMac to Mavericks. However, now my email isn't coming into my iMail inbox from my server....

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
Envelope Index
ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Warning: The process may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. For reasonable-sized mailboxes, it should only take a few minutes.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

How are you testing this? It works for me, or at least generates the dates I think you want.

Could I ask you to amend your signature - you can see why it's a good idea.
The first step for you would be to sign out in System Preferences>iCloud then sign back in again, enabling Mail and any other data types in the checklist there. This should set up Mail automatically for you - you shouldn't need to enter any settings yourself.
Your data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out, but will reappear when you sign back in.

Unable to get mail to download all of the messages in my inbox

I have around 1300 messages in my gmail apps inbox that i want downloaded. I have set up this account to use pop and told gmail to enable pop for all messages, even those already downloaded. The iPad now will download chunks at a time and then suddenly stop and i can't download anything more recent than june. So far it has about 400 of the 1300 available.
Tips?

I believe that the iPad only shows the 200 most recent emails. Moreover, POP3 email doesn't work that way. Once it's read, it's removed from the server, so it can't sync with other devices.
Switch to IMAP, that way you can store emails in folders which sync with your iPad.

Make sure you have 2 outgoing SMTP servers for your email. one should be your mobile providers outgoing server for ex. (smtp.telus.net) when on wifi use either your ISP's outgoing or better yet use google's SMTP server.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Note that nowhere in the Boot Camp instructions does it tell you to use Disk Utility to format the Windows partition. The Boot Camp Assistant program creates the partition & sets the +partition scheme info+ of the disk as appropriate for the Windows installer but the Windows installer itself is responsible for formatting the new partition with the appropriate +file system scheme+ (NTFS for Windows 7).
If you follow the instructions in the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide to the letter you should have no problems installing Windows.

HT4623 During my update to the new operating system I am unable to get past Rescue EMail. I tried not putting in another e-mail as it says it is optional - that did nto work. I entered a Rescue E-Mail and it will not allow me to go to the next step. Help

I then entered an alternate e-mail with the same results. I am unable to get past this section after I push the Next symbol. HELP!
