TS3899 Why does safari close when I try to send messages on facebook!!????

My iPod will not let me do anything on facebook without closing I am told it sounds like it is crashing .I have a 3rd gen iPod no cam if tha helps.

See:
- Go to Settings>Sarfari and clear/delete history, cookies and data
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Why does Safari close each night, overnight?

Why does Safari close each night, overnight? I leave my iMac computer on overnight and Safari always stayed open until I closed it. This closing nightly is new within the past two months. I have Safari version 7.1 and OSX 10.9.5. Is this a setting I can adjust? I am not interested in updating to Yosemite at this time for a solution.

You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked

This may or may not work, but it's worth a try.
Using Disk Utility, try an re-partition the drive into two partitions, making the second partition very small (a megabyte or two), then see if you can format the first partition normally. Leave the second partition alone.
If this works, then the first partiton is what you will use.

Safari closes when I try to open a bookmark

Hi,
I've had a recurring problem with Safari closing when I try to open the bookmark icon.
I've closed all running apps and restarted my ipad2, I have also shut off iCloud sync for bookmarks, closed everything and then restarted my iPad ( this worked for a short time) but the problem keeps returning when i try to sync my bookmarks. They will sync using iCloud or via hard wire but the fix won't last.
Ay ideas? Thanks

Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off. After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.

Check your boot disk for errors.
Restart your Mac while holding down the C key, pressing the power button and inserting your restore disk all at the same time. An Installer window will open, but do not proceed with any installations. Instead, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities > Disk Utility. In the Disk Utility window click First Aid, and then click Verify. If Disk Utility reports errors, click Repair. When Disk Utility is finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. Why does Safari close suddenly?

Safari closes suddenly during use on myiPad, and when I reopen it, it usually forgets where it was. It is happening more and more lately. Sometimes my Bejeweled ap does it too.

Too uncheck else going on in another app maybe, something corrupt in the Safari cache, a corrupt bookmark .... Could be a number of different things causing Safari to crash. Try some basic troubleshooting,
1. Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad.
4. Sometimes deleting and reinstalling a troublesome app can fix app crashes. Any app - especially games - may contain data that you want to backup before you try deleting and reinstalling, so if you decide to delete the app, backup first.

Why does iPad freeze when I try to publish a video to YouTube?

When I try to upload a video to youtube from my iPad, the screen freezes when I tap "publish." After several minutes, the YouTube dialog box finally disappears and the preview screen of the video appears with a "Publishing to YouTube" progress bar at the bottom. But the bar never advances and the video never gets published. Does anyone know how to fix? Never had a problem before upgrading to IOS 7.

Safari closes when I try to load an ebook

when I try to load an online e-book safari closes before it finishes loading. I have just started to have this issue, I have used this on line e-book with success many times. I have tried numerous things. First I contacted the site they couldn't find any issues, next I cleared safari history and cache, then restarted my i pad by turning in off and then back on. Everything is up to date also. Please Help.

Is your Aperture application installed in your "Applications" folder, or did you move it to a subfolder? If you moved it, put it back into the "Applications" folder. Also check the name. If you renamed it, change the name back again to simply "Aperture" without any additions. Otherwise will the updater not recognize your current installation.

Why does quiktime freeze when i try to play video?

I just reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows xp pro...before i had no problem with itunes or quicktime...but now whenever i try to play video through itunes it will freeze and i have to ctrlaltdelete and then cancel...then itunes will close down...when i try to open a video through quicktime the program freezes so i do the ctrlaltdelete then cancel and this time quicktime will play audio but no video...PLEASE HELP!!! i am going crazy, all drivers are installed and updated, i tried to repair and reinstall itunes and quicktime with no success

I would take a look at the video card driver. The lastest driver for a video card doesn't always mean it is going to be the best one for it or even work without causing problems.
Example, recently when going to microsoft's OS updates, there were a few updates needed, most security related, one was for the secondary monitor's video card. Well after they were installed, the computer would keep re-starting on its own.
Well the last change made was updating the video card driver. So I rolled it back in Device Manager, and that solved the problem. This is why I think it is foolish to have a windows computer setup to automatically update.
The problem your having is difficult to diagnose, more than likely a driver issue. It is not QT because that is only a program.
Hardware not configured properly will definately cause a freeze when playing mulimedia. Mostly if the jumpers are not setup correctly with master/slave for drives and in the BIOS.

Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Why does Firefox hang when I try to open yahoo? It also hangs after I use it for a little bit.

When I try to open yahoo Firefox will hang and when I try to restart it will close but stay running. It seems to have started when yahoo went to the new version.I reset my screen resolution to 1152 by 864 pixels like yahoo said no difference. Firefox will also hang if I go to several web sites with out going to yahoo. I changed my home page to Hotmail instead of yahoo and it will open just fine. Any help will be appreciated. Rodney. Safari closes when I try to open PDF

Every time I click a link that goes to a pdf file Safari closes and tells me it unexpectedly quit. Any thoughts?

Yeah, your not alone. Mine has been doing the same thing. Rechecked all my settings and such just to make sure, but no change. I too have sent probably about a dozen reports to mac. Nothing yet but it would sure be nice to quit going to Netscape to get my .pdfs. I did notice thought that some pdfs will drop on the desktop even after Safari crashes. Some do and some don't.
