TS3920 Can not activate face time or iMessage need to check network connection

Can not activate Face Time or iMessage just get can not sign in please
check network connection. Have tried everything I have read in past post.
Please help.

I have won the battle.
right let me tell you what  i did and in what order.
First i restored my Ipad 2 to original factory settings, backing up content so i lost nothig.
then i reset my router, this caused me a few probs as i am not that computer savvy and i needed netgear to help me re configure my router.
after a long conversation with apple we came to the conclusion that the passwords were causing the problem.
i spent time explaining to them that when i originally set up my itunes account and then my mobile me account there were no stipulations regarding numbers and capitals in passwords, hence when i got my IPAD my passwords were not "appropriate" even though they were working fine.
I decided to reset ALL my passwords associated with I tunes, mobile me and addle ID to the correct requirements which are; at least 8 figures with at least 1 number and a capital.
I then reset my DNS code on my IPAD to 8.8.8.8
(go to WIFI settings, touch arrow to right of your network and change DNS code)
and voila, it worked.
I would try and sort all passwords out to correct requirements ( one number, one capital the rest can be lower case). then change your DNS code, then try face time.
if that doesnt work then it may be a case of restoring factory settings on your IPad and resetting the router.
I appreciate how frustrating this is as they are not cheap.

    Confused! Even Apple are as i had a consultation with them today and they couldnt help.....

  • Ever since updating to iOs7, I can not use face time or iMessage on my ipad2.

    I am connected to wifi, I can get on itunes, the app store, google, use all apps, recieve and send email.  But when I try to log in to iMessage or Facetime with my apple ID I get this message in a pop up box " iMessage Activation Could not sign in.  Please check your network connection and try again."  I  have tried numerous times over the last week.  I have tried every suggestion I can find.  (Switching to airplane mode, shutting down the ipad, restoring it, etc, etc) Please help!!

    to activate imessage and facetime a hidden sms is sent to an apple server in the UK at a number starting with +44.  IF you do not have the ability to send SMS over cellular network where you now are then you will not be able to activate imessage or facetime

    I've bought a new iPad mini . And when I try to activate face time & iMessages , with my apple id  I get this message
    " the Username or password was incorrect Try again " 
    knowing I'm sure that e-mail and password are correct , I use them every day to download programs ,I also use the same apple id for face time & iMessage on my iPhone & my mac  !!!

    These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
    First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
    b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
    c. Perform the following actions
    i. Right Click on Components Folder
    ii. Select Permissions
    iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
    iv. Select Advanced Button
    v. Select Owner Tab
    vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
    vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
    viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
    ix. Select Apply
    x. Select Apply again
    xi. Exit the Registry Editor
    Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?

    I can't sign in to iMessage on my phone. It says "please check network connection" however i can sign into iCloud on my phone & can sign into iMessages from my mac.
    Obvvioulsy I've tried a hard reset & I restored my phone to stock yesterday.

    So, considering there have been 20 odd pages on queries since I posted this I'm guessing I aint gonna get any help here, so does anyone know if it's possible to get help from Apple without having to pay? I cant get to a genius bar. I'm looking for an email address maybe? I've spent hours searching through forums & have scoured Apples support pages & as far as I can tell the only way to get anything from Apple is by paying them - I've had my phone over a year you see.

    I have a different problem, ouchased iphone 4 , ios4.1 from TIM Brazil.
    It activated, but the bottom facetime on my contacts list doesn't shows a blue camera.
    When i tried to facetime the person, iphone message says user not available to face time.
    I tried with 2 friends, one using Vivo operator and othe using Tim, on my home using my wifi and it doesn't work.
    The friemd who uses ViVo could facetime me.
    After following the instrctuins from apple web site, the adjusts were redefined. SAme problems happened, and my friend who uses Vivo can't facetime me anymore.
    I called Tim, who says the problem belongs to apple and called Apple Brazil, who says the problem belongs to Tim.
    After that I reset the iphone and reinstalled the ios 4.1 and still get the same problems.
    This is embarassing and shows total lack of respect for customers, What apple is doing to fix it?
    The only reason for buying this iphone 4 is to use facetime, the rest is well known and was availBle on my previous iphones.
    Please provide instructions.
