Why won't iTunes launch after being updated?

I have now updated iTunes to the latest version. (I am writing this on April 12, 2013.) When I did that, it continued to work on my Windows computer. However, since I closed iTunes several days ago, I cannot get it to launch anymore. I click on the icons on my desktop, and nothing happens. What can I do to make iTunes work? I updated iTunes today because I wanted to import songs from a CD onto it. After updating iTunes, I received the following messages after trying to open iTunes. (http://imgur.com/Rv2jOWa) The second message would appear after clicking "Okay" on the first message. I tried reinstalling iTunes through Apple. I also uninstalled myself after Apple's way didn't work 3 times in a row. I tried twice myself and after all that it still displays those messages after trying to open iTunes. I've never had a problem with iTunes before.

Why won't itunes open after being downloaded?

Please help I am about to cry with frustration! I have tried for a week to install itunes on my laptop for my new nano. The download seems to work but when I click on the icon itunes does not open. Quicktime works. I have tried uninstalling fully and then re-installing after re-starting but had no joy.
Can anyone help ?

No error message at all. Hourglass appears for a few seconds and then nothing.
I don't have Norton and have tried disabling my virus software and then running it but still nothing.
Ahhh, thank you kindly. that's already ruled out a couple of possible culprits.
One last preliminary question aimed at diagnosing the issue prior to trying a treatment.
reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

FIREFOX COMES ON MY SCREEN WITH A NEW UPDATE AND IT HIGHLY RECCOMENDS I DO SO . I AGREE BUT IT REFUSES TO ACCEPT MY UPDATE. WHY WON'T IT ACCEPT THE NEW UPDATE??

I tried creating the new user account but that didn't change anything. Neither did updating to OS X 10.4.3. It just doesn't make sense because I've had the same thing happen with tv dvd players not being able to play stuff but all the computers can and stuff like that, but my dad's computer, which is the same model as mine, can play it and mine can't. It just keeps spitting it right back out. :\ Any more suggestions? I bought the extended warranty, I might try giving Apple a call.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Why won't Thunderbird open after Mac reboot?

Using Thunderbird on Macbook Pro for a couple of years, no problem. Recently moved house; same router and ISP but been getting invalid certificate messages on high-security sites ("Your connection is not private"). Changed two certificates to "always trust" and rebooted. Now Thunderbird won't respond, even after 2nd reboot as mentioned in another question - I've done my homework ;-)

Thunderbird still won't open and I would very much appreciate someone's experience to understand why and what I need to do to get it to start again. I installed the latest update for lion and now my computer won't boot. I got into disk utily it's saying I need to reinstall my os. Please help

Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. You'd be better off checking with Steinberg to see if there is an update. Cubase is now at version 6 so its not very likely but you never know.
If you have original 10.6 disks I'd recommend setting up a separate partition with the latest version of SL that's compatible with Cubase. Once you partitioned and installed the OS turn off software update, install cubase and get the combo for 10.6.6 from here.

My phone(4) won't turn on after latest update

I ran the latest update last night & now can't turn on my phone. All I get is the iTunes emblem & a picture of the plug in on a charger. any suggestions besides a reboot. Don't think I've ever backed up my phone.

If you get that screen then your iPad is in recovery mode.

Battery won't stayed charged after latest update on iphone 4

I cannot get the battery on my iphone 4 to stayed charged. I charged it to 100% before going to bed by morning it was down to 35%. I had turned off automatic push services, made sure there were no open icons. I had spoken with an Apple rep that morning so he instructed me on what I should do. I've had the iphone 4 since January with no problems at all until I downloaded the latest update ....that's when all my problems with the battery began & my facetime freezes so bad I'm unable to use it & it worked great before the battery problems started.... the battery has lost all charge and I have recharged to 100 % several times and still will not hold charge......any information would be greatly appreciated...I'm so frustrated!!!

IMac won't boot up after latest update

I'm a newbie to this forum but any help would be greatly appreciated please
We've had our iMac for 2yrs now no issues but when I went to do the latest update today it's gone a bit weird!
I did the install and relaunch like I always do but when rebooting it got stuck on the white start up page with the apple logo and a circular timer
Ive rebooted it several times and performed a PRAM and SMC reset but still same issue. The fan started to run fast but the resets seem to have solved that?
Any ideas what's wrong and how to fix it please?

The reason Allan was asking what update is this will affect how it's handled. However without knowing I believe the most wise thing to do it take the machine into an Apple Store or AASP where they can help you. One of the most recent updates was a EFI update for 2011 iMacs. If your iMac is a 2011 machine (released after May 2011) and that is the update in question then the only recourse is taking it in as mentioned.
There are a couple of things you can try though, first is restart using the Install Disk or if you are on Lion restart and when you hear the startup tone hold down the Option Key. Then choose Disk Utilities and run Repair Disk Permissions, do this 2x. Then exit DU and try to restart normally. If that doesn't work then try rebooting in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more has become corrupt. If neither of these work then definetely take it in.
Finally please please please complete your profile, use Your Stuff in the upper right of this page then click Profile and complete. This is vital to helping you. At this point we know nothing about your system, what version of OS X, which iMac, etc...
