TS3988 can a computer have multiple icloud accounts?

My husband just got an iphone and I created an apple id, but I can't get his icloud created..it just defaults to mine?

Create his own user account on your computer and add/create his iCloud account there.

  • Can one mac have multiple iCloud accounts?

Hi, we have a family Mac, and everyone uses one Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes except for me. I want to get my Pages documents to sync with my phone iPad and the family mac, but the others in my family still need to use their iCloud account too.

You can create separate user accounts and sign into your respective iCloud accounts within your user account.

  • Can I have multiple iCloud accounts?

If I can have multiple iCloud accounts, where and how do I set the up?  I cannot find the option under the iCloud settings in system preferences.  I have a personal and two different work emails with calendars I would like to sync.

I believe if you go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars you can set up another iCloud account, but I believe you can only sync data between one account at a time.
You can set up two iCloud accounts separately for iCloud mail and syncing and another for iTunes Purchases, and Apple has an article out for this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895

Can i have multiple iCloud accounts with the same Apple id

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, your ID is essentially your account. You can have email aliases and you can have multiple accounts, but I don't think that's what you are asking.

  • HT204150 I now have multiple icloud accounts. How do you determine which one is holding the data?

I recently set up a new Windows 7 PC. I backed my phone to the icloud. When I plugged my phone into itunes on the PC it wiped my contacts and music out. Now I'm finding I have multiple iCloud accounts. I don't know which one to use or how to get my data restored to the phone. Very frustrating! Can anyone help me? --ptowngal

Go to icloud.com, sign into each of your iCloud accounts and see which one(s) contain your data.

  • HT204053 can I have multiple icloud accounts for one apple id?

I have multiple people in my family using our original apple id .  As they have gotten iphones, macbooks, etc they register there devices under our originale apple id.  over the holidays when my youngest child got her ipod touch and registered it for icloud, two of the children now are seeing each others texts?  Is there a way to use the same apple id for the family and have seperate icloud accounts for each person or should we have a seperate apple id for each person?

Yes but the issue with receiving each other's text messages is not being caused by sharing the same iCloud account.  To fix this, each person needs to be using a separate Apple ID for iMessage on their devices.  (Note: you can continue to use the same iTunes account on all your devices but each person should use a different ID for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime).  There are a couple of things you need to do to sort all this out.
First decide who will be keeping the current ID for all services.  On the device(s) belonging to the other people in your family, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the Apple ID, sign out, then sign back in with a saparate ID for each person.  After doing so you will no longer be getting each other's messages on your devices.
Next, to avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
For iCloud, to avoid having merged data by syncing with the same iCloud account you will need to migrate each person to their own iCloud account.  To do this, first decide who will be keeping the current account.  On the other devices go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from the device, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will be keeping the current account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My [iDevice].  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID on the device(s) belonging to each person.  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to un-merge the data in your iCloud accounts you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting the other person's contacts from your account, and vice versa).

  • HT4436 can I have multiple icloud accounts on one device

can I have multiple icoud accounts on one device (ipad)?

Are you sure only primary account can use Find my iPhone?
I added a secondary account to my daughters iphone and was able to use it for Find my iPhone.
It warns you that the Find my iphone service will be disabled on the other icloud account.
I think this is a good change so I can use a single account to track all the devices.
Looks like only photostream and documents/data are tied to the primary account.

  • Can you now have multiple Itunes accounts sharing content on one computer?

Hi - I was trying to find this information on line but cannot.
The last "big" Itunes update (11.2?) prevented multiple Itunes accounts from sharing content on one computer.  Well, you can, but with consequences. For example, my husband purchased a movie rental with his Itunes account on our computer when he logged on to Itunes, but then I could not download any Itunes content for 30 days when I logged on to my account. I no longer purchase any content from Apple because of this. I was hoping this feature has been discontinued – it prevents households from purchasing Itunes.  We never pirate or steal any content at all. In fact, this feature forces us out of the Itunes universe to purchase movie rentals and music elsewhere.
Not just trying to complain, really. Legitimately want to find out if this rights policy still exists before we both try to rent or purchase anything from Itunes.
    Thanks.

"Won't it present problems if the daughter needs to reauthorize the computer for her own use before 90 days,"
No. The 90 day limit ONLY applies to redownloading purchases from iTunes..
So if she were to redownload purchases from the father's account then she'd have to wait 90 days to redownload form her own account. and the computer can be authorized for multiple iTunes account (pretty sure it's 5) . You don't need to later reauthorize for first account if you authorize for a different account.
More discussion on 90 day wait period - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6094005 - disable automatic downloads so message doesn't appear when using multiple accounts.

  • Can a family have multiple iClouds, with 1 iTunes acct?

We are a family of 4 apple users. I want us to share the same iTunes acct with one way to purchase items, but I want us each to have our own iCloud login for backing up our devices. How can this be done?
Also, would we be able to access or see each others i

Yes, in fact it's recommended that you have separate iCloud accounts.  You can have separate iCloud accounts and still share the same iTunes ID; it does not need to be the same as the ID used for iCloud.
To create separate iCloud accounts, each person should go to Settings>iCloud on their iOS device and sign in with a separate ID to create their account.  If they have multiple devices, then can create the account on one device, then go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with the same ID on their other devices.

  • Can I have multiple ICloud accounts sync to one computer?  Strictly looking to have 2 photostreams save to one computer.

My wife and I both have Iphones and Ipads but seperate Icloud accounts.  I would like to utilize the photostream capabilites of the icloud desktop client to view pictures on our home pc and back them up.  Is there anyway to do this? will this be added in the future?
    thanks,

    update to this question...
I can't turn on automatic downloads on my iTunes as it is already associated with my account and if I chang it to hers, then I can't change it again for 90 days  :-(  so bascially, I guess while I can have two accounts authorised on my computer, so that it can play music videos etc... there is no easy way to get this content between my computers.
So bascially back to where I was when I used to try and use Syncopation and various other products to get music purchases synced between all computers - it never worked very well, tried various products etc but not really much luck and no help with books, apps etc...
I really do not think that Apple has though thru multi person/family support in the iTunes store and frankly getting pretty fed up with it.
They have limited it to 5 computers, I don't see why there have to be these additional restrictions all the time, or why they won't fold two accounts into one.
It's starting to look like £10 per month for Spotify premium may be a better deal now that you can download music from there...  I spend a lot on the iTunes store but I am going to have to rethink that if there isn't an answer to easily allow my wife and I to share what we purchase.

  • If we share one iTunes account can we have multiple iCloud accounts?

My children and I share one iTunes account.  Can each one of us have our own iCloud account.  We upgreaded the IOS and my daughter ended up with my contacts and hers.  She deleted mine and now they are all gone.  I want to avoid this issue in the future.

First decide which device(s) will keep the existing account.  On the others all you have to do is go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then set up a new account with a new ID and turn iCloud syncing for your data back to On.  When prompted, choose merge.  Deleting the accout will only remove it from the device, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will continue to use the existing account will not be effected by this.
However, if any of the devices is still syncing data with the account, before deleting the account you must go to Settings>iCloud and turn syncing to Off, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the device (otherwise it will be deleted from the device when you delete the account), the set up the new account, turn syncing back to On, and when prompted, choose merge to upload the data to the new account.
After each device has it's own account, if you have any merged data in any of the accounts you will need to go to icloud.com, sign into them separately and manually delete the unwanted data.

  • How can three iphones have seperate icloud accounts, but share itunes?

    Hello guys,
I hope someone can help me with this question; ok here goes... I have an iphone 4s, one of my daughters have an ipad (we both share itunes ID), recently my two daughters were given iphone 5s'.  Ok the problem is that one of them connected to itunes without me setting up their phone to my account, she mistakenly hit the reset button without backing up her phone.  I understand that there is no way she can get her contacts back... the question is this.....I understand if she has her own icloud Id she keep her contacts and etc. separate from ours.  my question is when we try to remove my e-mail and id from the icloud it won't work..... is there away to create different icloud ids?  I don't want to have to create a new apple (itunes) id we want to continue to share music and apps.
sorry if its long and drawn out but I didn't want to miss anything.
    thanks in advance

Yes.  You can share the same ID for iTunes and create separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs.  If fact, that't the recommended approach for families.
You should also use separate IDs for iMessage and FaceTime to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.  Just use the same IDs you use for your iCloud accounts.  If you're sharing the same ID now for these services, one of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a separate ID.  Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

  • With iOS 7 can I still have 2 iCloud accounts on one device?

I used to have my one iCloud account on every iDevice in my family (i.e. iPhones, iPods...) just for the purpose of using Find My iPhone with 1 account.  Now with iOS 7 it seems like that option is gone.  Example, I upgraded my wife's phone from 6 to 7 and the option to check Find My iPhone was missing under my iCloud account information.  Only her actual iCloud account had the Find My iPhone option under it.
What am I missing or what is the work around to get it back to the way it was?
    Thanks so much in advance!

It seems that that option has been removed with iOS 7.  I suspect it is related to the new security feature of iOS 7 requiring the iCloud ID password to delete the account or turn off Find My iPhone.  Forcing Find My iPhone to only be associated with the primary account ID removes any ambuiguity over which password would be required.
If you would like Apple to reconsider this decision, you can give them your feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

  • TS3988 Can I set up additional icloud accounts just for Find My iPhone?

i have 5 iphones, 4 of which are under my icloud account id.  I'd like to know if can have access to my son's iphone location with the Find My iPhone app using his icloud account information on my iphone.

Yes.  You don't need to set up or use additional iCloud accounts on your phone to do this.  You can track any device using Find My iPhone from your phone by downloading the free Find My iPhone app, then in the app signing into the iCloud ID that the device(s) you are trying to track are using.
