TS3988 Can I remove a device I no longer have in my possession (but belongs to me) from iCloud
When I bought my iPhone 4S, I let my husband have my old 3GS to listen to my itunes music on (it's connected on iCloud). Trouble is, we're separated now, and I want to turn off the iCloud on that 3GS because I don't want him to be able to turn on any of the other things (i.e. mail, notes, documents) and get into my private things. Can I do that from 9,000 miles away?
Yes, just change your iCloud account password.

<Serial Number Edited By Host>If you enabled Find my iPhone then you should use that. If not, I'm afraid you're out of luck for finding it.

How can I remove a device from my iCloud/Apple ID?
Hi,
I merged my dad's iphone to my Apple ID a while back because he wants to buy an app and I have some credit left over so I let him used my ID on his device. Apparently, all my contacts, pictures from photo stream, and ical are now also in his device. And all his contacts, pictures, and ical are on mines. How can I remove his device from my icloud and Apple ID WITHOUT deleting anything? Like I just don't want him to get anymore of my reminders and contacts, and pictures? Because I'm afraid taht if I remove his iphone on my icloud, all the pictures/contacts/ical that he took and went to my device too will be deleted because those are some important pictures/contacts/ical?
I tried to manually delete some of my dad's contacts that was shared on my phone, it turns out that it got deleted on his phone as well and vice versa. How can I just completely cut him off of my icloud and ID without losing any of my and his contacts/pics/etc?Dr mizooo_1985 wrote:

My grandson syned his Iphone to my itunes with my cell phone name "janies Iphone" I think I disconnected the abilitity to sync my itunes but I am not sure.
Can I remove the device that says janies iphone and reauthorize it again? Will that work to sync my phone and eliminate my grandsons phone? Should I rename my phone?See this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

MAP 9.1 - Can i remove a device from inventory?
Hi to all, i use MAP 9.1 - Can i remove a device from inventory? Othewise can i re-inventory some computer?
I have some computer that changed host name and i'd like to
detect updates with new properties.
ThanksHi Paolo,
Unfortunately this is not possible as MAPs database is additive and it does not re-inventory already collected devices. Your only option is to span another DB instance and rescan your environment with it to enable MAP to do a full scan once again.

How can I remove old devices from my iTunes-Mediathek?
How can I remove old devices from my iTunes-Mediathek?
That's a very general question, so here are two documents from Apple for using automatic syncing and manually managing content.
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support
Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support
If your question is actually about removing content (you know how to add content), you are probably using the manual method to add content, and don't know how to manually remove content. For iTunes 12, on the horizontal bar that goes across the iTunes window (near the top), click the Music button near the left end. Near the middle of same bar, click Playlists. The sidebar appears along left side of window and Devices, your iPod is listed. Click the small triangle to the left of the iPod's name, to drop down its content list (indented below iPod). Click Music there. To the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown. Select the song you want to remove and press Delete on the keyboard. You can do this with one or more songs selected.
You can also use the iPod's "management" screen. Select the iPod in iTunes, so that you see its Summary settings screen. In the sidebar, under On My Device, click Music. This is the same as on the "content list" described above. -
TS1702 How can I remove an app I no longer want?
How can I remove an app I no longer want?
Press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded (you can't delete built-in apps) then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

How do I delete an old device I no longer have that still shows in Safari iCloud settings?
In the iCloud website..in settings it shows the devices that you are signed in to. I handed a broken 17" MBP into Apple for exchange for a new 15" but the 17" still shows active in my devices. I cannot find a way to delete the device...any solutions please?
Howdy Shearwater2002,
It sounds like you want to remove your old MacBook Pro from Find My Mac, but you no longer have access to the device. The article linked below will walk you through the process of removing the device from iCloud.
iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone
Remove an iOS device you no longer have
If you no longer have the iOS device because you gave it away or sold it, you need to remotely erase it before you can remove it.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud).
If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device.
Click Erase [device], then enter your Apple ID password. Because the device isn’t lost, don’t enter a phone number or message.
If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online. You’ll receive an email when the device is erased.
When the device is erased, click Remove from Account.
All your content is erased and someone else can now activate the device.
I hope this helps,

I need help! I no longer have access to the email that I opened my icloud account with many years ago and I can't remember my password anyway! However it continues to backup all my stuff. But I have no access to go in and delete items or manage my account. The pop-ups now tell me that my account is full and it will no longer be able to backup items. I would like to go in and delete items that I do not need to make room, but I can't! I have personally gone into the Apple genius store and presented the problem as well as called Apple support and talked with a live person. And no one has been able to help me. I cannot believe that I have basically lost my iCloud accessibility? I have a lot of money vested in music and priceless pictures! Please can someone help me?
I don't know what you mean by "closed" - icloud accounts stay in existence even if you disconnect all devices from the account. You can't delete them.
If you don't recall the ID or the password, and if the link above doesn't provide another way to get to the account, then you are out of luck. -
The hotmail address i use for my apple ID was hacked and i no longer have access to it, this is stopping me from accessing any of my icloud or itunes. how can i fix this?
Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

I cannot load more photos onto my iPad even though I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud. As I am on holidays and taking loads of photos I thought a good plan was to load them onto my iPad and then regularly back them up to iCloud. If I do this, do I then delete those photos from the iPad that I have backed up to iCloud and if I delete them from the iPad are they gone forever or can I somehow get them back from iCloud? I'm only new at all of this so I hope someone can assist me. I'd hate to lose all of my photos(I know they are still on my memory stick) but I would like to have them safe and secure and able to retrieved whenever I wish.
Chris CA wrote:
You cannot backup photos to iCloud.
You can enable Photo Stream (in Settings > iCloud) but only for 30 days and only a max of 1000 photos.
Then what does this mean? It was copied from the kb article that I posted above.
Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
Tap iCloud.
Tap Storage & Backup.
Tap Manage Storage.
In the Backups section, tap your device.
In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.
To reduce the size of your Camera Roll backup, save your photos and videos locally to your computer with iTunes, and then manually back up your iOS device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your iOS device, you can turn off Camera Roll in Backup (see the "Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your Device" section above) orpurchase additional storage. -
How can I view my pictures that were backed up to iTunes? I no longer have an apple product but need to view the pictures for very important reasons.
If you mean backed up as part of an iPhone backup in iTunes? If so, you would have to use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup, such as iPhone Backup Extractor.
