TS3988 Change ID email address & password, verified... now i cloud & photo stream don't work.

I have change ID & password & has been varified, however I cannot find where to delete old ID.
My Mac & Iphone keep using my old email account.... ICloud is not working at all.

    ok, so the email account associated with my appleID had to be deleted, so i set up my new email address and verified through email.  now everytime i attempt to turn my icloud on, it asks for the password to my OLD appleID (attempts to enter the old password did not work).  the app store is recognizing my new information, but i cannot find a single option on my phone to CHANGE THE APPLEID ASSOCIATED WITH MY ICLOUD!!!     Did you just rename the Apple ID you were using for iCloud or create a new Apple ID?  Also, when you say "everytime I attempt to turn my iCloud on" do you mean you are trying to set up iCloud for the first time?

    I am sure there is an easy answer to this. I had to change my email address and filled in all the details on line with apple. Now, however, when I try to download anything from the apps store on my ipod it still has my previous ID and when I try to update anything in my library on my laptop it won't update using my new ID as it says it was purchased by someone else

    After changing it did you go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign back in?

    The email address for my Apple ID became unreliable (bad hosting).  I went into iTunes and then into the Apple site to change it.  The site required me to change my (very old) password.  I did so.  I removed the new address as my recovery email address, because I could not change the main email to the same address as the recovery address.  I re-verified the (new) address.
    So that worked great!  Except that it's completely broken iCloud and the App Store my iPhone.
    The App Store on my iPhone 4S (Model MD276LL/A running iOS 7.1.2) does not recognize my Apple ID as having purchased anything, including the 100+ apps I've gotten and downloaded over time.  It does recognize that apps need updates.
    I'm also now getting notifications for iCloud on that same phone, which asks me to log into the old account.  If I go to the Settings to delete the iCloud account on that device (as the support site tells me), it asks for the password for the old email address (as the support site tells me), but it will not recognize either the old *or* the new password.
    I have updated iCloud on my Mac just fine.  My iPad Mini, which was attached to my employer's iCloud account by mistake, has made the transition smoothly and recognizes my old account's purchases.  My iPhone is stuck, though, and now I can't text (iMessage is confused) or use other iCloud features.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
    Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
    Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you.

    What id shows in Settings > iTunes & App Store ? If it's the old one then tap on it and log out of it and then log in with the updated version

  • I recently had to change my email address to a gmail address and my itunes login on my iphone still uses my old email address.

    After going tthrough a recent change with my internet provider, I was forced to change my email address. I now use gmail for my mail. With my new gmail address, I went to itunes and updated my account to reflect my new email addess. At the same time, I also just bought a brand new iphone4s and got it all squared away.
    Here's my problem;  Now that I've changed my itunes account to the new gmail address, whenever I try to buy an app for my phone or access itunes on my phone, the popup window for me to log into itunes shows my I.D. as my old email address. Now I can't log into itunes or buy an app for my phone.
    Can somebody please tell me how to fix this??

    I had the same problem. I tried everything I could think of, and I was just about to reset my iPad. The last thing I tried was giving in and telling the App store app that I'd forgotten my password. It took me through the password change process (for the old email address), and now it's downloading and updating apps normally.
    It's still using my old email address in the iPad store app, but it works, and it syncs with iTunes on my Macbook with no problem.

    If you change the email address associated with your Apple ID there are a number of places that have settings that need to be changed. One is in the Messages application. This article explains how to make those changes -
    What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support
    Look for the section titled Messages and under it Mac with OS X Mountain Lion or later. 
    Open the Messages app, select Messages > Preferences, then click the Accounts icon.
    If you're signed out, click Accounts and sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.
    If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, click Accounts, then select your Apple ID from the list of accounts. Click Sign Out, then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm. Sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.

    cchanged email address on iTunes & icloud & Apple id. All updated & showing on iCloud etc as my new email address, yet I can't update or download anything as when I try it keeps asking for my old email address / password !?

    & The old passwit'd no longer works, and the email address is now invalid ! Apple want £25 from me to even talk about it !? ***.

  • I changed my apple ID password and now facetime cannot verify my e-mail address.  I have tried changing my password back but still recieve the same pop up window telling me that the email could not be verified and to check my network but have wifi working

    Please help.  I changed my apple id password and now cannot use facetime and my icloud continues to prompt me for my password and I continue to give it but, I repeatedly am prompted for the password unless I cancel the icloud.  I have tried changing my password back to the password I had before and this did not work.  I have tried to use another e-mail address for facetime and had verified that e-mail address and this did not work.  I do not know how to fix this problem.  I have thought about changing my apple id but am not sure how I would be able to carry over the same credit card number to the new apple ID.  I loved my Mac book Pro because I could facetime my boyfriend while I am working away and now I cannot.  I am starting to hate Mac.

    The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

    To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    I recently changed my email address for the Apple Id and it was accepted but now when the App store comes up it still shows my old email address and no password will work.  iCloud and Facetime are fine.  Don't know why it stays there or how to alter it.
