TS3988 error 2343 - can't uninstall or repair icloud

My itunes would not recognize my iphone or my ipod after latest itunes update.
I tried everything and itunes kept saying that it could see the devices but not recognize them, and if the prob persisted, to uninstall
itunes.
I did and I noticed there were 2 versions of icloud installed.  I installed one with no problem.  The second won't uninstall and won't repair.
Also, it wont allow me to reinstall itunes.
Help!

Hi, Frank
I got the same problem too and this is how I fixed it.
1.Go to C:\Program Files, then delete the entire QuickTime folder.
2.Go to C:\Windows\System32, then delete QuickTime. and QuickTime directory.
3.Click Start - Find/Search - All Files And Folders, select the hard drive ( C: ) to look in, type in QuickTime, then click Find/Search. when the list of files appear, right-click on and delete all the ones that you confirm are associated with QuickTime.
4.Click Start - Run, type in REGEDIT, then click OK. Click the + in:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE
Software
In the Software sub-menu, right-click directly on the Apple Computer entry, then click Delete - Yes.
(Note: If you click the + in the "Apple Computer" entry, you'll see "QuickTime" listed there)
5.Go back into the registry and click the + in:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Uninstall
Start at the top of the Uninstall list and click on each sub-folder and look at the entries in the right pane. When you find the sub-folder for QuickTime, right-click it and delete it. The QuickTime entry will possibly be listed more than once in the Uninstall list, so keep going until you get to the bottom of the list.
Close the registry editor. The QuickTime entry should now be gone from Add/Remove Programs
6.Run CCleaner to help delete registry keys related to QuickTime.
7.Run Windows Install Clean Up to remove QuickTime installer.

  • Quicktime Error Message/Can`t uninstall Quicktime

After the last update all **** has broken loose nothing is working have looked all over at the forms for soultions have seen were i should uninstall both iTunes and Quicktime I`ve uninstalled my iTunes and now trying to uninstall the Quicktime so I can start all over and keep getting this error message when ask if I want to repair some files
Error writing to file:C\Program Files\QTSystem\QuickTime.qts. Verify that you have access to that directory
How do I verify that I have access...??? So I can finish uninstalling this mess and get thing running again...

Did you mistype the the path? It should be c:\Program Files\Quicktime\QTsytem\Quicktime.qts.
If you typed it correctly, that's odd.
Assuming you mistyped it, try running a disk check to make sure there isn't a filing system error.
Open My computer and right click on your c: drive, select Properties>>tools>>error checking. Check both the boxes.
The check starts on the next reboot and can take a while.
Download the version of QUicktime that does NOT include iTunes from here:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    Close all other programs.
Then try manually uninstalling Quicktime using the method here:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
If that goes though OK, Restart your PC and install the stand alone Quicktime.

  • HT1923 Win 7(64) Home Premium, sp1: Receiving Error 2203; can't uninstall or update iTunes.

    iTunes 10.5.0.142 on Win 7(64):
When I try to uninstall, change, or repair it from Control Panel or even update it, I get Error 2203 every time. I am following Apple support instructions, "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, Quick Time, and other software~Windows 7" http://http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923  .  How can I get rid of these programs?

Uninstall worked fine for administrator as directed.  All fixed--disregard.

  • Sync error AND can't uninstall AND can't download new iTunes

So last week I tried to add some stuff to my iPod because I hadn't in a while. When I connected it to the computer and opened iTunes, I got an error message about the sync-up.
I got on the 'net to download an iTunes update (10.7 at the time, I believe) to see if that would help.  After trying five times, I gave up.  Nothing happens when I hit "Download Now." I'm confident it has nothing to do with pop-up blockers or security settings.  I double-checked them just to be sure.  And it's not like I haven't downloaded other stuff recently.
OK, so I try uninstalling iTunes to see if that helps.  Nope; can't do that either.  I get a message basically saying I'm not allowed.
I've been about four hours on this problem by now, including scouring online message boards for an explanation.  Unfortunately, it seems I'm the only one having all of these problems at once.  I'm not sure if this is just iTunes being dumb or if this is part of a larger computer problem I'm having.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks. If that's a 64-bit system, try the following user tip:

  • CS6 configuration error 16 can't uninstall and can't reset permissions

I'm running CS6 on a macbook pro Mac OS 10.10.1 (Yosemite). My hard disk recently crashed, replaced with new hard disk and had to recover files. I can't use any of my CS6 or CS4 products. I get the "Configuration error, error 16" dialogue, asking me to uninstall and re-install software. But my 'uninstall' application can't be found. How do I uninstall and reinstall without the application? Also, following a previous thread on error 16, it noted to reset permissions, but I do not have the SLstore file or folder in my Adobe folder in the application support folder in my library. Any suggestions??

  • Error 2738-can't uninstall Quicktime

I am getting this error when I try to uninstall Quicktime. I tried to update to latest version and received this error as well.
Until Quicktime is properly installed, I cannot install Itunes.
I tried installing Itunes with Quicktime and get the same error with the Quicktime install.
Message was edited by: Richard Lara

I had the 2738 error for both Quicktime and Itunes. The solution of running the command; regsvr32 vbscript.dll in the system32 folder did not work for me.
I'm running Vista 64 Bit Home Edition. After much trail and error this is what worked.
open Command Prompt using a right click "Run as Administrator".
    cd to C:\windows\syswow64
type- regsvr32 vbscript.dll, then hit enter.
This is not an official solution but it worked for my 64 bit system.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 has error: 16, can't uninstall it.

When I try to open dreamweaver, it shows a message telling me to uninstall and reinstall it, and tells me I have error: 16. When I try to uninstall it, it fails. I have tried the cleaner tool, cleaning "CS6 only" and also "Creative Cloud and CS6 products". It still fails when I try to uninstall. I tried the procedures here http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/configuration-error-cs5.html but it said access was denied when I tried to "replace owner on subcontainers and objects" for adobe pcd. I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how to fix this.

  • Please Help! Error Message, Can't Uninstall or Open

I have itunes on a newer computer. It recently stopped opening and I get "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." I get this SAME message when trying to uninstall itunes. I try and install a new version over it, same message. PLEASE HELP. I don't want to have to reformat my computer, but I'm feeling almost like it is the only way to do it.

Use this microsoft installer cleanup tool to get reid of itunes, then quicktime.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Then try a fresh iTunes install.

  • Buffer Override and Can't uninstall Quick time

I just upgraded to Quick Time Pro for $32.00 and can't get quick time or itunes to open. I tryed to uninstall Quick Time but it says error and can't uninstall. I get a Buffer Override when trying to open. I believe that I just got ripped off for $32.00. Apple must be short of money and ripping us off.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. See notes 1 & 3 below the box in particular, and include the ..\Program Files\QuickTime folder in the removal process.
Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Icloud photo library won't work unless connected to wifi.  If I am trying to attach a pic to a message or email, I get the error "photo can't be downloaded from iphoto library, please try later." If I connect to wifi it works just fine.

If I am trying to attach a pic to a message or email, I get the error "photo can't be downloaded from icloud photo library, please try later." If I connect to wifi it works just fine.  If it's truly "storing" a low res version on my phone it shouldn't have to download anything.  I can understand the uploading of pics to library only being done over wifi, but there are plenty of times I'm going to want to send a pic when I'm not going to be near a network.  It does work occasionally, but the norm is that I get the error.

    Hi Ed,
There is issue with Windows 7 when you send the email. It gives the message you specified.
But you can always use Adobe Email client to send your images. In this workflow also you would get the error message but you can ignore it and continue to send the mail.
    Thanks,

  • I can't uninstall, repair or install itunes?????

    I get an error:
Error with install file at C:\Windows\Installer\itunes.msi.
The file is none existent. I can't get past this when I try installing, uninstalling or repairing.
    What do I do?
    Thanks in advance!

Do the following, go here and install the MS cleanup utility.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
Then run it and select itunes.
Then delete the itunes folder in c:\program files\
    Then reinstall itunes.
Of course the question might be how did that file disappear. I hope you didn't delete it. As you found it its needed to do uninstalls and repairs.
