TS3988 Hi both myself and my wife are on the same account so we receive each others contacts and I messages. How can I get my wife a separate I'D but keep her on the account so she can still purchase items on the account thanks Gary Eveling

Hi. Both myself and my wife are on the same account meaning same credit card. The problem with this is we both receive each others contacts and see each others I messages.
How can my wife have a different name so we are separate on such things as contacts and I message but she can still purchase items on the account.
Many thanks
Gary Eveling

You entered your wife's seperate AppleID? Check you can login with the same AppleID here: http://appleid.apple.com/ on a computer.
Some of the photos in that link apply to setting up iCloud on a device from new, not when setting it up later. It won't look the same (the dark gray background) for you as you're setting it up now.

  • HT201269 My latest back up was on March 14th, 2013. My boyfriend has been using my Apple ID so we are linked on iCloud. Just recently we got each others contacts and now we get each others messages. Will that setting be changed if I switch phones without

    Okay, so I cracked my iPhone 5 and just got a new 5s in the mail. I'm using the same number, sim and everything. My latest backup was on March 14th, 2013. My boyfriend uses my Apple ID for a year now but we just recently got each others contacts and now we receive each other's messages. Will we lose that setting if I don't back my phone up before switching new phones? Cause I didn't have that setting before when it was last backed up. If I could back it up I would but I don't have nearly enough storage so that's why I'm asking lol. We want to keep the setting like that so we still get each others contacts and everything

    You can always resync the Contacts, Notes, and Messages by signing into those services with the same AppleID once you have the new phone set up.

  • I went on a trip and when I came back almost all my ipad apps were gone(I suspect my dad). When I went to go look at my account it was as the same as the ipad, it had none of my other games on there. How do I get my account back to how it was

    I kind of ran into the same issue when I checked my purchased apps on my iPad in the iTunes store.  A bunch were not there.  I then looked at iTunes on my computer and again, a bunch were missing.  I realized I had not synched in quite a while.  Once I synched everything was ok.  As the poster above said, iTunes knows you have already purchased them so you can redownload for free.  However, be aware that when you do red own load you will be asked to pay again, just say ok and the next popup will say that you have already purchased the app.
    Lesson I learned - synch more often.  Boy, I can't wait for IOS5......

  • Can 2 different iphones be registered to the same pc without interfereing with each others apple accounts?

    can 2 iphones be used on the same pc

    IMO, if the two phones are used in the same family, I would use 1 iTunes account for both iPhones.  You can select which stuff you want to sync to which phone and iTunes will keep track of it.  I do this with a 4S, 3G, iPad2 and Touch, all with the same iTunes account.

  • How do i syn multiple iphone to the same mac itune without loosing my phone contact and getting my husband's contact in my iphone?

    We have a mac book and my husband used the Iphone 3g. he has bought a new iphone 3gs and also syns with the same mac book. I have taken over the old iphone 3g and tried to syn to the same itune however my own contacts have been over written by my husbands contact.
    How to ensure that my contacts are protected whenever I syn my phone?

  • Can two players use the same game app without erasing each other's scores?

    Can two players use the same game app on the same device without erasing each other's scores?  My two sons build up their characters and progress in their games, then the other one wants to play, erasing the first son's progress.
    Is it possible to create two player identities in the Game Center?
    Is it possible to have two different Apple User ID accounts on the same device?  Is that even desirable?
    Many thanks!

    You can create as many individual user accounts on a Mac as you like. Then, any one or more of those users can remotely log in from another Mac and use that Mac as their own, simultaneously. Each account will remain separate from all others.
    However, since each user needs to have a Mac to do that, I'm not sure how you could effectively double the number of users as you describe.

  • Is it possible to install firefox 10, aurora and nightly on the same computer without them conflicting each other?

    I would love to be able to use the stable release and at the same time I would like to see what's coming up in future releases and test them. I'm wondering if I can install all three of them and maybe even run them at the same time.

    Do a custom install and install each version in its own program folder to use multiple Firefox versions.<br />

  • I backed up my IPhone 4s to my computer then I got the iPhone 6 and backed that up on the same computer now my iPhone 6 is like an iPhone 4s how do I get it back to an iPhone 6?

    I Have recently gotten an iPhone 6. I had an iPhone 4s before. I used iTunes to back up my iPhone 4s and worked fine. Now that I have an iPhone 6 I backed it up to the same computer, same iTunes, it then restored my old phone into my new phone. How do I get the original iPhone 6 back without taking all the original data I have on it now off?

    You did import these important photos over to an alternative storage medium, just like you would with any digital camera, right?

  • Views using the same offscreen buffer, interfering with each other

    Hi all,
    I am creating an application where I display simulations. In order to keep the view of the simulation ticking along nicely, I paint the view to an offscreen buffer, and then paint the offscreen buffer to the screen.
    This has worked fine for me, so long as I was only viewing one single simulation on the screen at a time. I have now started displaying multiple simulations, and the views have started to interact with eachother -- one will paint over the other, particularly when I click or drag the simulation.
    I'm not using any static variables, so my guess is that the fault is the offscreen buffer that I'm using. I think my various views are using the same buffer. Is it possible that this is the problem?
    Here's how I paint my view:
    private BufferedImage offImg;
    private Graphics2D offG;
    public Graphics2D createGraphics2D(){
              if (offImg != null) {
                   offImg.flush();
                   offImg = null;
              RepaintManager repaintManager = RepaintManager.currentManager(this);
              try {
              offImg = (BufferedImage) repaintManager.getOffscreenBuffer(
                        this, this.getWidth(), this.getHeight());
              } catch (java.lang.NullPointerException e){
                   return null;
              offG = offImg.createGraphics();
              // .. clear canvas ..
              offG.clearRect(0, 0, getSize().width, getSize().height);
              return offG;
    private void draw() {
          if (offG == null)
                   createGraphics2D();
         offG.drawImage(...) //etc
    public void paintComponent(Graphics g){
               g.drawImage(offImg, 0, 0, this);
          }My first thought was to create a list of all the offImg's created and compare them. The different views are indeed getting the same image from repaintManager.getOffscreenBuffer, even though the component passed in as 'this' is different. The offG's created by each view are different, but since they belong to the same image, I assume it's the image that's important.
    Is this likely to be the source of my woes, and, assuming that I want to keep using the offscreen buffer (I do) is there a way around this problem?
    Thanks so much for any advice.

    Hello,
    I am creating an application where I display simulations. In order to keep the view of the simulation ticking along nicely, I paint the view to an offscreen buffer, and then paint the offscreen buffer to the screen.You may know that Swing uses double-buffering by default. So you usually don't really need to tweak Swing's own offscreen buffers.
    Painting conservatively on an applicative offscreen buffer is sounds (if painting is slow), but then your application has to create a dedicated offscreen buffer, not use Swing's ones.
Is it possible that this is the problem?I can't tell for sure, but I'm not surprised if that's the case: all Swing ("lightweight") widgets within a same JFrame (or any other "heavyweight" top-level container) share the same native graphical resources, so presumably share the same offscreen buffer. It is Swing's machinery that arranges so that each widget paints onto a part of this buffer that corresponds to the widget's bounds.
              offImg = (BufferedImage) repaintManager.getOffscreenBuffer(
                        this, this.getWidth(), this.getHeight());You don't have to, and probably should not, ask Swing's RepaintManager for a buffer. You vould create a BufferedImage yourself, then draw onto it.
    offImg = new BufferedImage(...);Then your paintComponent method itself is fine:
    public void paintComponent(Graphics g){
               g.drawImage(offImg, 0, 0, this);
    Is this likely to be the source of my woes, and, assuming that I want to keep using the offscreen buffer (I do) is there a way around this problem?See above. And look for "offscreen graphics" on this forums, you'll probably find a lot of examples that do this way (and give example code, my sample above is sketchy and untested).
    Regards,
    J.

    Read this article if you need to kick the best out of your fast painting code (in particular, it mentions more informed ways than mine to create Image instances suitable for offscreen drawing):

    not in Flash Player 10.0.

    Both my iPod and computer (mac) say that iOS 6.1.5  is the latest software available. I have a 4th generation iPod touch, how do I get it to update to iOS 7?

    . As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
    All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • HT3529 My wife and I both have an iphone.   We initially created it under her apple id.   We will receive each others text messages from certain people not all.   Any ideas why and what we can do to stop it

    My wife and I both have an iphone.  We initially set them up under one apple id account.  When we text sometimes we will receive each others text messages from others.   Example I will text a friend...she will not see my text but the reply comes to both of us.  It seems to be random which ones.  Any ideas how to correct this

    Yup, get your own AppleID.
    The messages that are being sent to both phones are technically not text, they are Apple's iMessage. They use the data part, not the texting part. So if you have an iPad or a Mac computer, you can send/receive the iMessages there too.

  • HT204053 If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad

    If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad by getting it off my iCloud?

    She can't from iCloud without setting up your iCloud account on her phone. But just sync the same apps from your iTunes Library on your computer to her phone.
    Your wife should setup her own iCloud account - which is separate to the iTunes Store accounts.
