Cloud storage is full.  How do I delete or remove old purchases from the Cloud to free up storage space?

iTunes Store purchases don't count towards the iCloud storage limit. Click here for information on reducing the amount of content which does.

how do i delete photos off icloud?

iCloud is only used to sync photos between devices. It's not a "home" for them where you can view them on the web.

You can just tap Delete Back Up, you don't need to turn off iCloud.
Deleting the backup only permanently deletes the backup from iCloud.  It doesn't do anything the the data currently on your phone.  You will want to create a new backup as soon as possible after doing this, however, as you won't have one until your do.  You can either intiate this manually to create one immediately by connecting your phone to your charger and to wifi, then going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tapping Back Up Now at the bottom (this will take some time to complete the first time), or you can just connect it to your charger and wifi before you go to bed and it should back up automatically (and continue to do so once daily).
You don't need to manually connect your phone to your computer to back up to wifi, but it's a good idea to create a second backup using iTunes occasionally in case your iCloud backup ever fails (I do this weekly).  To do this, connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now.  (Your phone will continue to automatically back up to iCloud daily; this is just a second, manual backup, on your computer.)

    Select it and press Delete.
Note that you will need to redownload it (iTunes > Purchased)  to play it.
If you subscribe to iTunes Match, you can stream it or downlaod it.

  • How do I delete photos in iCloud

I need help deleting photos in iCloud. My family is connected and there are a lot of pics that we don't want

Welcome to the Apple Community kenneth
This has occurred because you are sharing an iCloud account. Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, that way you can each manage your own mail, contacts, calendars, documents etc and avoid unintentional deletions and unwanted editing. If there is information you wish to share between you, this can be done with a secondary account.
Having separate iCloud accounts, doesn't mean you have to have separate iTunes accounts, so whilst you keep your personal data separate, you can continue to share music, apps, books, TV shows, movies etc.

  • How do i permanently delete photos from icloud to free up storage?

My storage says that my phone is using 3.9 GB of the 5 GB available for the photos on my phone. I have deleted 230 of the 450 pictures from my camera roll and about 100 of the 200 on Photostream, however, iCloud still says I'm still using 3.9 GB. How do I remove photos from the cloud to free up space? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I would really recommend to use another/second storage option (local on your Mac or PC) or service like Dropbox (a few GB) or Flickr (1 terra byte for photos) for storing your photos.
You could also just delet your old backup and then create a new one, which should also free up some space.

  • How do I delete photos from icloud photo stream on my iphone and ipad

    question
how to delete individual photos from icloud stream

As far as I know, you don't. iCloud photo stream automatically stores all of your photos for 30 days, then self-deletes them. It's meant to give you plenty of time to download the photos to a computer before they get deleted.

  • How to retrieve deleted photos from iCloud?

    Hey there!
I really need some help. Yesterday, I was trying to move photos from my camera role into another album. However, i accidently selected 'delete everywhere'. Before doing this though, my phone was plugged in,locked, on charge which should mean that the photos were backed up on iCloud right? But i don't know how i can get them from iCloud.
I did have photostream turned on my phone, but not my Ipad with which the whole storage thing was connected to. Is there any way of retreiving those photos?Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Anyone..?

  • TS3989 How do I delete photos from iCloud

CAn someone please help I want to delete some pics from my iCloud account and don't know how

You're not clear as to where in icloud you want to delete photos....
If you mean you want to delete photos from photo stream, just look at the photos in the photo stream album of Photos app and edit/delete or swipe left and choose delete.
If you don't want photos included in a backup, go to
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the name of the device and on the next screen, turn off Camera Roll in the Backup Options section.

  • How can I delete photos from camera roll to give me more storage

I Upgraded to an iPhone 4 from a 3GS (mainly because it was a 99¢ promotion).  I have only a little over 1GB—maybe less—left and it doesn't have music on it yet.  I figured my photos are the answer but can't figure out how to delete them from the camera roll.  Any body out there know how?.  Also other ways of getting more room on my 4?  I know a 4s comes with more unless someone gives one away, or another 99¢ promotion comes along I can't afford it on a fixed income.
    THanks!

Once you delete these photos, if you haven't saved them on a computer they will truly gone.

  • How do I delete items in iCloud to free up cloud memory?

I just "opened" an iCloud account and find that the amount of memory used is almost at the limit of free memory.  I'm only interested in synching my Contacts and Calender data.  How do I see exactly what is my iCloud and delete items not needed in the cloud?

  • Is there a way to store photos on iCloud to free up space on my iPhone?

I have iCloud storage available. I'd like to free up some memory on my phone.

Your PhotoStream photos are stored on iCloud and do not take up additional room on your iPhone. However, your camera roll and any other Albums or Events that you have on your phone do take up room. You cannot use iCloud to store those - you need to sync to a computer.
When you do the sync, it should import your photos and give you the option to delete them from your phone. You can delete them, and then re-download selected ones through a normal iTunes sync.
    Cheers,
