TS3988 mail password not valid

I can get mail on my iPhone and iPad, but prefer to get it on my computer because it "manages" for me.  When I try to get mail, it says my password is not valid. Have changed it on all my devices and on iTunes.  any ideas about what's going on?  thanks.

Your signature says you have 10.5.6 - is this correct? Leopard is not compliant with iCloud's requirements and cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

  • Networked user accounts, mail passwords not saving or notes?

    Hi there,
    I have a mac mini set up as a server with latest software. On it i have 20 networked users which use between them for different mac mini's.
    Problem which i have come across and i haven't found a solution yet. When i created them emails on there user accounts the incoming mail password won't save? On occasion i has saved, but once log out of the user and log back in the password has gone. which then it prompts me to keep typing the password in and won't save the password. This is very frustrating!!
    I have also just noticed when i put message in notes and then log out and log in the the message has gone. This got me thinking it could be something with the user account not saving any data that put in? I don't really want to reformat the server if i don't have to.
    If anyone has solution to this problem, it would really handy to know?

    I click the Note button, nothing happens. The feature is completely out of service. I don't understand. Am I missing something obvious? I have tried the keystrokes too, no reaction at all, no errors, just can't use Notes, at all! rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Please help.
    Update: I opened Console to see if I could find any errors immediate after trying to create a note and this is what I found:

  • Can not sign in it says e mail or password not valid yet when i type in my e mail and click forgot

    i try to sign on in eprintcenter
    I use my e mail address and password which i know is correct    but screen says one  is incorrect
    so I go to screen for forgot password and type in e mail and screen says type in e mail associate with your account
    just go in circles  how do i correct

    Try logging in using the Snapfish logon.
    From the normal eprint logon screen, click the Snapfish icon ()
    Try logging in using your email and selected password.
    If the logon fails, try retrieving the password using the Snapfish retrieve pasword option.

    You can have multiple addresses associated with your apple id. You will have to verify any changes before they can be added and this is done by sending you an email. This is to protect you from someone else makeing changes to your account.

    I have an imac since christmas and all of a sudden My mail icon in the dock starts bouncing . When i go to mail it says my pop server cannot identify my password and i need to type it in again . When i got my mac i had it remember the password .Everything seem to be ok for a while and then it pops up again . I called my internet provider and everything is set up correctly on my computer and on their end . i have had the same password for years . I don't know too much about this . Should i call Apple

    I had this problem several months ago, and it just recurred tow days ago. After trying all the keychain tricks mentioned, and several re-boots, I finally resorted to what worked for me last time - I deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist. That's not as scary as it seems, since the old file is still in the recycle bin if you decide you need it.
    Having deleted the plist file, Mail will go through a setup procedure, asking for your incoming and outbound server names and credentials, and then after checking, will ask to "Take the account on-line". All of my previous Inbox messages, the smart mailboxes, and the folders under "ON MY MAC" were intact; the only ting is that everything in the Inbox is marked as "unread", but that's a simple thing to fix.

    I log in with my hotmail.com account as well as @hotmail.com password. I do not have any other password.

  • + character on e-mail address, not valid in Admin.

    Hi,
    Some clients customers have + characters in their e-mail addresses, but BC admin does not allow this and marks it invalid.
    Please fix asap, customer cases and e-mail marketing won't work for the addresses that have + signs until this is fixed.

    My iPad mail isn't recognizing my password so I can't send or receive mail i am on iOS 8.1...my server. Shaw said the error was with apple and to open my mail in Safari, which I can still do so I know I have the correct password.

    Try to restart your iPad. You want to get to remove that! Deleting the mail account from your iPad and re adding it should work. Just tap cancel cancel cancel while working your way to removing it. I had that happen with a password change on one of my accounts. Removing it then adding it again solved my issue.

    Mail is driving me nuts - it keeps asking for my password to access my ISP mail server - even when I give it and ask it to remember it in keychain it still will continue to request it. It lets me get the mail OK until asking again - what tio do please any advice Using OSX 10.7 with all recent updates .

    I copied the following from Keychain Access Help regarding Keychain First Aid.
    With Keychain First Aid, you can:
    Verify and repair keychain settings and permissions.
    Reset a keychain (delete a keychain reference while preserving the keychain file).
    Make the login keychain password the same as the login password.
    Set the login keychain as the default keychain.
    Set the login keychain to always remain unlocked.
    To use Keychain First Aid:
    Open Keychain Access located in Applications/Utilities, then choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.
    Enter your user name and password.
    Select, Verify and click Start. Any problems found will be displayed.
    If there are problems, select Repair and then click Start.
    To change the Keychain First Aid settings, choose Keychain Access > Preferences, then click First Aid.

  • Password not valid?

    When I go to get an app from my phone I get a message that my password is invalid. I went to apple support and used the iforgot feature to reset my password and I still get an invalid password from the phone. If I use iTunes I can get apps, but am not home now and only have my phone and no computer.

    I have the exact same problem, but in reverse order.
    I can download/update apps directly from my iPhone, but when I try to download app updates from within iTunes, I receive an "Invalid Password" message. Someone please tell me... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!???
    This has been an issue for me since upgrading to iTunes v8.

    Trying to set up mail and it keeps rejecting password.......have deleted and set up new .mac account and I'm sure its right.

    Thanks for providing this detail which wasn't clear in your original post.
    Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below.
    Is Password selected for SMTP authentication and if so, is your .Mac account user name (the portion of the email address in front of the @ sign only) entered in the User Name field and in addition, the password for your account (shown as dots for security) entered in the Password field?
    If so, are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP (used for connecting to the internet) with the Mail.app and can you send messages with this account?
    If settings are correct for the .Mac SMTP server, enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
    If this doesn't resolve it and you are accessing an email account and SMTP server that is provided by your ISP with the Mail.app, select/use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account which is invisible to all recipients.

    I'm on DPS professional edition, trying to set a new viewer for android, in the first screen I enter the email and password I used to create the folios (the folios are already in the folio producer, published as privated and free) but I keep getting the error EMAIL OR PASSWORD NOT VALID FOR TITLE
    I've been looking for solutions in the forum, but cannot find it, there is an image in attachment in case it helps.
    Any recomendation on how should I proceed?

    ok, I called Adobe customer care and the problem has been fixed, here we go:
    login with the master account
    go to Account Administration and create a new user (the new user has to be different from the master, and it has to be a real email adress
    give this new user all access
    logout from the dashboard
    click on forgot your password, it will set a password for DPS dashboard
    login with the new user id
    now you can create the viewer app
