TS3988 maximun number of accounts on icloud

i cant sign into icloud. prompt says: " the maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iphone". Please help.. what must i do??

I always see this solution, reuse one of the accounts. I agreed with that! But what about we forgot!
iForgot keep giving me back the Apple ID which rejected while login to iCloud in my iPhone.
Apple store genius don't kown how to help, so they told me to call Apple Support, what? they are not the Apple support? Well, ok, but the people on the otherside of the phone don't know how to handle it.
Any idea to have this fix?

What do you mean by "maximum number of retries"?
If you are told that you can't create a new Apple ID/icloud account because the maximum has been reached, you have to use another device or computer to create the ID, since there is a max of (I think) 3 or 5 allowed on each device.  This means that your current device has already been used to create the maximum number.

  • Hi, i have a second hand iphone 4s and i made a AppleID and everything was ok, but when I turn on the icloud, i write the appleID and the password but then appears a error message saying: "This iPhone has been activated the maximum number of accounts"

Help me how can i put/activate my icloud account

If you are getting that message you will not be able to create a new iCloud account on your phone because the maximum number of accounts has alread been created.  Your only options are to either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account using a different iOS device or Mac, if you have one.

    Hi Victoriahernandez10,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your new iPhone. If you are having issues receiving iMessage messages across your iPhone and your Mac, you may want to double-check that your phone number and your Apple ID are correctly linked and that all your contact addresses/numbers are set up, as outlined in the following article:
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage - Apple Support

Q: I tried to create an iCloud account,  but I received this message: “Cannot sign in. The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone.” What does this mean?
A: Apple limits users to 3 iCloud accounts meaning you can only create three iCloud accounts on an iOS device. You are seeing this error because you are trying to create the fourth iCloud account on your iOS device (iPad, iPod or iPhone). Unfortunately it seems that all (3) iCloud accounts have been created and you can’t create a new iCloud account on this device. Restoring or resetting your device will NOT change this. Your options are to either re-use one of the accounts that you previously created, or create a new iCloud account on a different iOS device or Mac.

  • TS3988 when I'm trying to make account on ICloud, I put my applr ID & password

when I'm trying to make account on ICloud, I put my applr ID & password. I have an error ie :   "cannot sign In. the operation couldn't be completed. (com.appleaccount error 403.)"

This means the iCloud account limit has been reached on that device. Every device has a limit of three iCloud accounts to be created on them. You will need to sign into iCloud on a different device which has not yet reached it's limit. This is common if you bought your iPhone used or you have multiple accounts. Please note: an Apple ID is NOT an iCloud account.

    Hello Babyygrl23,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your iCloud Apple ID has a phone number associated with it that you would like to update. If this is the case, after signing in to the linked website below, you will see a section on the left side of the screen labeled Phone Numbers. You can edit the phone number associated with that account from there.

  • HT5527 I did not move my Mobileme account to iCloud. How can I get off the iCloud mailing list?

I did not move my Mobileme account to iCloud. How can I get off the iCloud mailing list?

If you migrated your MobileMe account before 1 August you should have signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it, and you would be able to see your calendars, bookmarks and emails on the iCloud website. Is this the case? Did you sign into iCloud with your @me.com address?
If you did not migrate your MobileMe account you can no longer do so.
If you did migrate, did you do so from a full MobileMe account or from a Family Pack sub-account? the latter did not get the complimentary storage (because their iDisks were only 5GB anyway).
If you had a full MobileMe account, check on your Mac - System Preferences>iCloud - and see whether that shows the upgrade. If it doesn't, you probably need to contact Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support (MobileMe Support is no longer available) and you may be asked to pay a fee: in this case you should ask them to deal with it without cost (and hope they agree).
Note that you haven't paid anything for your MobileMe storage since your first renewal date after 6 June 2011, and iCloud costs nothing unless you specifically choose to upgrade the storage. Note also the iCloud storage is not general file storage in the manner of the iDisk but is restricted to iOS device Backup, Mail, Photo Journal and Documents.

  • I have reached my maximum 3 accounts for icloud, i cannot sign in, even when i have a completely new apple id.

I have called up apple support and they have created a new apple id for me but i cannot make a new icloud account nor sign in. Is there anyway to make a new icloud account without affecting my other accounts?

  • Migrate account to icloud - read mail with 10.6?

I have an active mobileme account (paid) but I have not yet migrated to icloud. I have a mac running 10.6.8 and multiple ios devices running 5.x.
From what I read, if I migrate my account to icloud, I should be able to read my mail in mail.app, provided I set the account correctly (IMAP, server, etc.). But because I do not have 10.7.x I will not get the other functions of icloud, such as bookmark and contact sync, on my mac.
    Is this correct?
    Thanks

You can only do this from a Mac running 10.7.5 or above, or Mountain Lion; or an iOS5 or above device; or the iCloud Control Panel on a compliant version of Windows.
If you only have access to the Mac and don't want to upgrade the system you could go to an Apple Store and ask the 'Genius' to do it for you (make an apppointment). Note that you won't be able to cancel the automatic renewal yourself .
If you decide to upgrade your Mac you will need to check that it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
    and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

I have an iphone 4 that says i have too many free accounts on icloud. Ive never had an account. What should i do?

You can only set up a limited number of new iCloud accounts per device. Is it possible that someone else created these accounts? Is it a second-hand device? In this case you will have to use an other device if you want to create a new iCloud account.

  • Create an account in icloud when my ID apple is unsupported.

¿ How to create an account in icloud when my ID apple is unsupported ?

    Hi Dprieb,
If you are not able to edit your address or phone number info when setting up an iTunes Store account with an existing Apple ID, you may want to see if they can be set (or have already been set) for the Apple ID itself. You should be able to view and manage all of your Apple ID information from the following page:
    Apple - My Apple ID

  • Maximum number of accounts

Have been using macs for twenty years but this one is driving me nuts.
I have NEVER ever accessed iCloud on ANY device, though I probably tried in the past.
Anyway, the other day I wanted to give it a try and I systematically get the message "you have reached the maximum number of accounts". So I can't login to iCloud.
What I find pretty stupid is:
    - I am currently using ONE account that I wanted to use on ONE device
    - I can't create another account
    - I can't even manage my account to unactivate, for instance, the iPhone I'm not using anymore.
So what the heck is this maximum number and how can we reset that?? This is nonsense!!
    Thanks
    Olivier

    Thanks.
    But I'm still lost.
I'm pretty sure I didn't create three accounts on any device (as I said, I never ACCESSED iCloud before) and even if I did accidentaly, I don't remember which accounts they were.
Ok, let's say I will start from scratch :
    - if I try to create a new id I get the message "this computer cannot create any more free account"
So... I kind of understand there is a limit of a mix of devices and computers. But is there NO way to at least know what account is linked to what machine? I mean, let's say I DID create these accounts... how can I get a hand on them again??
    Thanks

Go to icloud.com.  Log in with your Apple ID & Password.  Go to the Find My iPhone section.  Perform a remote wipe of the device.
You don't have to have downloaded any app.  You only have to have enabled the Find My iPhone option under Settings > iCloud.  If you did not do that, then you cannot remotely access the device.
If that's the case, then change ALL of your account passwords; email, banking, etc.  All of them.  And then monitor those accounts very closely!
