TS3988 My iPad and iPhone aren't merging ...

Help how do I get my iPhone 4s and iPad 2 merging with iCloud ? I have followed the setup instructions but getting nothing. ?????

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

How do I get iMessage to be the same on iPad and iPhone

My understanding is that whatever conversations I am having on iMessage on my iPad should also appear on my iPhone and vice versa. In other words, if I start a conversation with you on imessage on my iPad, the identical conversation should be on imessage on my iPhone. Is this true? If it is, my iPad and iPhone aren't in sync this way. What do I have to do to get them in sync so that they are identical?

Check to see if they are on your calendar on icloud.com. If they aren't, all you can do is try to restore to your last backup, although it isn't clear that calendar events are included in the iCloud backup.

TS3988 Problem setting up e-mail on Mac, iPad and iPhone

I am having a major problem with my e-mai @me.com
1) I have a Mac running Mountain Lion;
2) The new iPad all up to date
3) An iPhone 4 also up to date.
iCloud e-mail on the web works perfectly, sending and receiving.
On my Mac, I was able to configure as an IMAP account, but not using the standard settings provided by OS
Both iPad and iPhone, while using the same and only Apple ID I have, do not recognize the default e-mail server.
Notes only work between iPad and iPhone. Notes on Mac never worked since installation. It says it cannot be setup at the moment and ask to do it later... and has been doing that in the last 15 days...
What should I do?

GOing by what others have posted, hotmail seems to be having issues. There may be not much for you do to but to wait it out. You can always try removing and then readding your account info.

Macbook has stopped recognizing ipad and iphone via USB. Cable works on other devices. USB ports recognize external drives, with and without hub.

Have you checked your Apple Store and iTunes settings (Settings > iTunes & App Stores)? Make sure that "Automatic Downloads" for Music, Apps, Books are turned on.

You need to turn the services you want to sync (calendars, contacts etc) on on both devices from settings > iCloud.

New ipad and iPhone 4 calendars won't sync tried everything on here still won't do it, help!

I have the same issues... iPhone and MBP have all the latest updates, etc. iCal synching used to work, but stopped at some point in January. I have tried all suggestions mentioned in these forums, including merging a new account...
I am stunned that Apple can't get this right.
The closest I've gotten to making this work is a dialog box popping up during synching warning of major changes to iCal; I say ok, but nothing is importing.

By backing up the iTunes Library via saving the iTunes folder on an external drive, is it also backing up all iPad and iPhone backups as well as App Data and Documents from your devices?

Furthermore, when it is time to restore the iTunes folder I copied to my external drive to a new iTunes program on my new computer, how will it merge the information once I plug in my iPad or iPhone to that new laptop to sync? If I did the iTunes library backup a couple months ago and I've added documents/music/pictures on my devices since then, what will happen when I try to sync it with the new laptop now working off of the iTunes library backup from a couple months ago since the information is no longer the same? Which information will dominate and thus be kept? Will it delete the new information/data/pictures/documents/music off of the devices since it is not on the iTunes program when it syncs?
Sorry for so many questions, but they are all related to backing up and restoring iTunes. I am not very tech savvy if you cannot tell

It would be a good idea to look into a bigger hard drive. They are not that expensive any more and can save a lot of headach. This is even more important if you are buying music from the iTunes music store. If you lost those files they are gone.
The point of having it on your PC and iPod is to have a backup. If the iPod fails, or you need to go back to the DVDs and find they are scratched, or just can not be read you have lost days of work converting and organizing all of those songs.
Or the iPod could hard drive could fail and then you will have to try to bring all of those files back from DVDs. You end up with a mess since some songs will probably be on multiple DVDs, have different names ect. Trying to reorganize it all can be a pain.
