TS3989 iCloud photo stream stopped updating today at about 4pm?

I use iCloud photo stream via my PC  to upload photos to sites that are incompatible with my iPad  and iPhone. Today at about 4:00 iCloud stopped uploading photos from my iPad to my PC. It's been over 5 hours and nothing. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Does this have anything to do with the mail blackout yesterday, maybe the mail fix messed up photostream?  Are there any settings that could have been changed that I should check? If anyone has knows a way to deal with this...someone elsewhere said uninstalling iCloud on the PC then reinstalling it...can someone please tell me how to do that? Please help my business is at a complete standstill with no end in sight.

Hello,
For some reason, my images stopped syncing between my devices. I brought it up to one of the Genius Guys at the Apple store. They told me to go into my iCloud settings and delete the account on the device (first do a back up). Then they said for me to go back into the iCloud settings and re-enter my iCloud settings. It took a little bit for all the images to pop up, but it worked. Good luck to you.
Cheers!

  • TS3989 iCloud, Photo Stream

I've tried all your suggestions here and my Photo Stream still doesn't work. I'm using iPhoto 11, I'v updated all my devices to the latest software versions on all my devices and it still doesn't work. I have not upgraded to Mountain Lion yet and I recently purchased an iPhone 5. What is the problem?

Well ... I can't get Photo Stream to turn on with iPhoto on my Mac.
From the various instructions from Markwmsn immediately above, I have, or have done the first six points:
    * Device(s) on iOS5.1 or later
    * Mac(s) on 10.7.3 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or later (10.8.2 and 9.4 for Shared Photo Streams).
    * All device(s) and Mac(s) are signed in to the same iCloud account.
    * On the iOS device(s), Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream is "On" (and Shared Photo Streams if desired)
    * On the iOS device(s), Settings > Photos & Camera > My Photo Stream is "ON" (and Shared if desired)
    * On the Mac(s), System Preferences > iCloud > Photo Stream is active
But when I try to do the next step ...
    * On the Mac(s), iPhoto > Preferences > Photo Stream > Enable Photo Stream is checked.
... when I try to check the box for "Enable Photo Stream", I get an error message:
"Sign in to Photo Stream using iCloud.  In order to use Photo Stream, you have to be signed into your iCloud account in System Preferences.  Cancel / Continue."
BUT in the System Preferences, I AM ALREADY SIGNED INTO my iCloud account, and indeed it is working fine for all the other features (Contacts, Calendar, Notes, etc.)

  • Why has my icloud photo stream stopped working on windows xp

I am unable to photo stream through iCloud anymore I have done it recently but it has stopped working, I've updated everything but when the control panel comes up I keep getting a Runtime error from windows and icloud photos is not enabled when I try to view on Windows Explorer.
Any help to solve this problem?
    Helen

Photo stream can be problematic on a PC.  There's a long discussion on this here: My Photo Stream is empty with iCloud Control Panel 3.0.  I ran into this problem myself and was able to get it working again by changing the iCloud Photo location back to /Pictures/Photo Stream as posted by RobBar on page 13 of this discussion.

  • ICloud photo stream not updating

I have been taking photos on my iPhone and I am having a couple of issues with photo stream
    1. It is only uploading photos I have taken today, all the photos I have taken previously are not uploading automatically. Is that a way I can do this?
    2. My iPad photostream isn't updating automatically, I am connected to wifi on both devices but I have to turn my iPad off then on again for the photos to upload.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)

  • TS3989 iCloud photo stream not working between iPhone and iPad

The photo stream from my iPhone is not streaming via iCloud to my iPad photos. Both have the correct settings:  iCloud enabled and turned on, and within iPloud setting both have photo stream turned on.  I have purchased additional iCloud space and that's certainly not the problem.
    IPhone 4S: IOS 6.1.3
    IPad: IOS 5.1
    I would appreciate any help.

  • ICloud shared photo stream stopped working with new photo app

iCloud shared photo stream stopped working since the last OX update with the new photo app.  I don't have access anymore to the sharing albums, even those that I own

iCloud shared photo stream stopped working since the last OX update with the new photo app.  I don't have access anymore to the sharing albums, even those that I own
Don't the albums show at all?
Are you signed in  with the same Apple ID that you used with iCloud before?  And are you currently browsing the System Photos Library? Only one Photos library, enabled as the System Photos library can sync with iCloud.
For me it helped to disable iCloud Photo sharing in the System Preferences > iCloud > Photos > Options
and in the Photos. app Preferences < iCloud.
Then restart the Mac and enable the same Preferences again.
    And wait.
The Shared albums came slowly back and were all back after one day.

    Hey lalitgupta,
Thanks for the question. The following article provides troubleshooting steps for Photo Stream:

  • Update iCloud photo stream

I am subscribed to my friends iCloud photo stream, but iPhoto refuses to update the stream when my friend add more pictures. Can I update the stream manually or how do I do? Have tried to unsubscribe and then subscribe again but it only showed her old pictures...

You can't manually update it.  You might try going to iCloud>Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Photo Sharing, close iPhoto and restart your Mac, then go back and check Photo Sharing again.  That might "jump start" things again.

  • I have yet  to update my iPhone 4 to the latest iOS software. How do I save photos to my iCloud photo stream that were taken before I activated my iCloud account and photo stream ?

I have yet  to update my iPhone 4 to the latest iOS software. How do I save photos to my iCloud photo stream that were taken before I activated my iCloud account and photo stream ?

You have a couple of options:
    Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot.  This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
    Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll.  This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once.  Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll.  These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream.  (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)

  • My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped.  Both computers are x64 bit.
    Problems I am experiencing
    A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
    B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
    C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream.  An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
    D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.
I tried the steps from someone who said they spoke to an Apple rep (steps copied from forum and I put them in italic) on this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5381738
Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
    Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
    iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
    So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5.  I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device.  I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating.  I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

  • HT201077 iCloud Photo Stream on Windows no longer Streams

I have a Windows PC, and have used iCloud Photo Stream for a while.  A few months ago, the streams just stopped appearing.  I have logged out, then back into iCloud.  I have changed the folders to be used for Photo Streams.  But, no matter what I do, I can no longer get streaming on my Windows PC.  The streaming between my iPhone and iPad works fine.  I suspect that this tool place with a recent upgrade of either iTunes or iCloud, but this problem has been with me for six months or longer, and I would have expected others to have had the same problem (so that it could be fixed).

I think I have found the reason for our problems?  Photo Stream will only upload photos with a "Date Taken" date higher than the date when you initialised or when you last reset your Photo Stream.  So if you are trying to upload older photos it won't work,  They should be fresh out of the oven to be Photo Streamed.
I have managed to Photo Stream older pictures by using windows to copy and remove all Properties and Personal Information then setting the Date Taken to todays date before mobing the photo into the Upload folder.  Still, it seems a little hit and miss so there's probably something else being checked to validate photos can be Photo Streamed.
So iCloud will move photos between your Windows 7 machine and your iOS5 device but it's a little picky about which ones it will allow. If you can figure out what exactly are the parameters please do tell.

  • After iOS 5.1. Photo stream stopped working on my iPad

After updating to  iOS 5.1. Photo stream stopped working on my iPad 2. I tried turning it off and on.reset the iPad too. I didnt do anything else to make photo stream  stop working.I tried closing the camera app before trying to access photo stream and waited to see if it would upload to iCloud and nothing. Photo stream works fine on my iPhone 4. Advice and help please?

Having the same problem on my wife's iPad2. All settings are correct. If I take a pic with the iPad, it shows up on her iPhone4 in Photo Stream. When I access Photo Stream on her iPad2, there is nothing there. Here's the really weird part: when I add a photo to iMessage on her iPad2, it lets me select Photo Stream and the photos are there!!! Any fixes besides a restore???

  • All photos in icloud photo stream not saved in local mac library

Basically, I have a shared icloud photo stream that is 1003 pictures, if I select all of them and say show in library, it only highlights 992 pictures on my local drive. Is there any way I can reimport a photostream?

    Hello asbreck,
You can use these steps to reimport photos from a Shared Photo Stream.
To save photos from shared photo streams you subscribe to:
Photos in shared photo streams are view-only. However, you can import the photos into your iPhoto library, apply edits, share the updated photos, and add them to your slideshows and books.
In the Source list, select Photo Stream.
Double-click the shared stream containing the photos you want to save.
    Select the photos.
Import the photos into your library by dragging them to Events in the Source list.
iPhoto '11: Subscribe to shared photo streams
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11959
It's important to note that if some of these pictures are already in your library and you reimport them, you will have a duplicate of the picture.  If you can isolate the 11 pictures that are not in your library, I recommend importing just those 11 photos.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.
