TS3989 Photo Stream won't upload to iOS devices

My Photo Stream has 999 photo's currently showing in iPhoto, but my iOS devices stop uploading at 195 photos.  Is there a way to refresh the uploading process without having to turn off/on Photo Stream in the settings?

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • Photo Stream not in sync between iOS devices...

This may not actually be a technical issue - it may be the way that it's designed. But if it is, then it seems pretty flawed.
I own an iPad, iPhone, Apple TV and Macbook Pro. Photo Stream pictures are not in sync - ie: I deleted several from my Apple TV earlier but they appear on all other devices and don't seem to be updating.
Is this the way it should be?
    Any help welcomed.
    Thanks

Thank you for that, it's strange you can't do the same thing from the supplied remote.
However, the previous response still applies, deleting photos from photostream on a device only deletes them on that device. (If you do it on the phone for example, it tells you that).

  • Photo Stream only working properly on iOS devices (especially delete function)?

    Hello,
I was planning on making my life a bit easier using photostream. But as soon as I started using this and testing it's behavior I ran into a lot of issues which make it more complex instead of easier I believe (when deleting photos). So here are some questions/issues I ran into, I hope a solution exists so I can start using photostream (instead of always connecting my iPhone to iTunes in order to sync my photos. I'm currently using my Windows 7 PC (and I was unable to test it on my macbook pro, as is currently being repaired). I have photostream enabled in the iPhone settings an on my iCloud panel on Windows.
    1. When I want to remove a photo from the photo stream on my iPhone it is deleted (in the photostream tab) it's being deleted on the photostream (on my iphone and on my pc), but not on my camera-roll of my iPhone with which the photo was taken.
    2. When I remove the photo on my camera-roll it is not deleted from my photostream. So I would be guessing that at least in this case or the previous case (1.) the photo should be deleted everywhere (or at least I should have somwhere in the settings an option to enable this behaviour, but I can not find this back in the settings on the iphone?). Remember I'm trying to make my life easier, not having the double amount of work to have an image deleted I don't want.
    3. When I'm deleting a photo on the photostream on my pc, it is never deleted in the photostream on my iPhone (waited more then an hour to make sure the sync was done, with full battery and wifi enabled). Again trying to make it easier, so why should I deleted it once on my pc in the photostream and once on my iphone in the photostream (it's again the same image), and in the opposite way it is working though? Or could this be related to: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23925307 ?
    4. When I log in on the iCloud website, I can't find back my photos anywhere to see which ones are still really in the photostream.
I hope some or maybe all of this issues can be fixed with adapting some settings or something, so I can start using the photostream  in a way it is useful and it's making any sense to me. As I said in the beginning I only have tested this on my iPhone/PC. When I have my macbook back, I will test it with it too, but honestly I'm a bit afraid to add another device to the stream, as things might behave even more weird.
    Thanks.

Im having a similar problem. Photo Stream works on my Mac and iPhone, but not on my iPad 2. Strangely, if I take. Photo with my iPad, it shows up in the Photo Stream of the other two devices.
I tried to reset network settings, but did not work. Even tried to reboot.
Another strange observation is that the feature actually did work temporarily and I saw my photo stream, but it disappeared without me changing any settings. Perhaps that will be fixed in an update.

  • My photo stream won't sync with my devices to my lap top. iCloud is turned on on everything. Have the latest os

The icloud on my Mac Book Pro won't sync photos from my devices (iPhone and iPad) using photostream. The devices sync to each other just not the lap top. Everything is turned on in settings..iCloud and photostream.

You need to go in to iPhoto on your MacBook Pro and turn on photostream in the Settings/Preferences of iPhoto.

You would lose photo stream photos older than 30 days from your my photo stream folder.  Tto keep them save them to the camera roll first.  To do this in iOS 7, open your my photo stream alburm, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon on the lower left, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
The photo streams from others should reappear when you turn it back on.  Worst case, the owners of the shared photo streams would have to re-invite you.

  • Photo stream won't load all photos in the upload folder

I added the photos I want in the Photo Stream to the upload folder. It trasnfers some (45-50 of 600), but not all. Any advice??????

Do you mean you created a shared photo stream? Did you make sure to select those photos by going to settings - screensaver on your ATV?
Also note, only a small portion of the cache is used for the screensaver (typically will hold around 100 photos)

  • Why is Photo Stream stuck on "Uploading 98 Photos"?

Why is Photo Stream stuck on "Uploading 98 Photos"? They appear to be camera photos that I imported into iPhoto. I can leave the computer on all day and it still remains the same, meanwhile photos I take on the iPad are still being synced.

Try to reset the Photo Stream:
Disable it in System Preferences > iCloud
Wait for a few minutes - have a cup of coffee.
    Then enabe it again.
Repeat, if it has no effect the first time.

  • HT201317 I can't find My Photo Stream album after getting the iOS 8 upgrade. Where did all my pictures go??

I can't find My Photo Stream album after getting the iOS 8 upgrade. Where did all my pictures go??

That album, My Photo Stream, is no longer used.
Instead, look in "Recently Added" within Albums, and also within Photos in the various timescale views. Both places should contain photos taken by any of your devices.

  • If I put pictures on my IMac. Can photo stream send them to my other devices.

If I put pictures on my iMac can photo stream send them to my other devices?

Of course. However, note that you need iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3 on your iMac, and that the other devices must be an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iCloud, another Mac with iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3 and OS X 10.7.2 or later, or a PC with iCloud Control Panel.
The first thing you have to do is to upload your photos to Photo Stream, but first you need to enable Photo Stream > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2710
Then, to add photos to Photo Stream, open iPhoto and drag the photos you want to "iCloud" or "Photo Stream" in the iPhoto or Aperture sidebar. This will make that your photos appear on other devices, so just go to them and copy them to the internal memory, because Photo Stream deletes your photos after 30 days. If you have got an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you can find your photos in the Photos application, and in a PC, you can find them in My Pictures folder.

  • TS3989 Photo Stream not uploading to computer

My Photo Stream has stopped automatically uploading to a folder on my pc. Any ideas why? How can this be fixed?

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

  • TS3989 Photo stream upload issues

I have had battery issues with my iphone 4s and as a result took it to genious bar. My iphone was wiped and resotred as a new device.
my phone was restored from icloud where i had approx 200 photos in photo stream. however only 9 photos from my photo stream uploaded back onto my iphone.
can anyone assist on how to retrieve these photograph.
    thanks

You will have to Pardon my ignorance. I am a relative beginner to this.
The staff member at the genius bar checked my phone and he said the photograph that where on my photo stream prior to doing the restore would automatically upload on to my iPhone when I restore my settings from iCloud. However only 9 photos done this and there other 100 odd photos didn't.
    I am confused!

  • My photo stream won't sync (connect) with my MacBook

  • TS3989 photo stream notification

    Hi guyz,
i have problem with changing the photo stream notification, currently there is an email notification.
who could i change it to in-apps notification instead
    thanks

I'm having this problem at the moment, to get it started again I am finding that I have to move all of the files I want to upload, out of my upload folder (eg cut and paste them into a seperate folder), then cut and paste them back into the photostream upload folder. This seems to trigger the upload again (you should see the files appearing in the my photostream folder and on your iOS devices).
However for some reason, I am only able to upload one at a time. If I try and put more than one file in my upload folder, the icloud control panel pops up warning me that my upload folder has been deleted or moved. I then have to cut and paste and only place one file in the upload directory.
I'm using photostream on windows (7).
At the moment, it would be quicker for me to place my photos in my dropbox upload folder and save them to my camera role on an iOS device to get them into the photostream. Which isnt good!
The solution is obviously that I need to buy a mac :)

  • Photo stream only creator uploads pictures or everyone?

Why is photo stream designed this way? Why can't I select like my wife who subscribes as a person authorized to upload photos? It's either all or nothing.

    Hi Daniel,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
The photos are saved in the My Photo Stream for 30 days, but your iOS device keeps a rolling collection of up to 1000 photos. See the article below for more details and suggestions for backing up and automatically saving Photo Stream photos to your computer.
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
Does using My Photo Stream substitute for using iCloud Backup or iTunes to back up the photos in my Camera Roll ?
No. Photos in My Photo Stream are saved on the iCloud server for 30 days. To save or back up these photos, you must copy them from My Photo Stream to your Camera Roll on your iOS device. You can then back up your Camera Roll using iCloud or iTunes.
How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.
Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to have all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically downloaded. In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will be imported into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture. On your PC with My Photo Stream enabled in the Control Panel, all of your photos will be imported into C:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream. For iCloud Control Panel 2.1 to 2.1.3 users, the path isC:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream.

  • HT201317 Photo stream won't sync all photos that I add to it

I recently downloaded iPhoto to my Mac so that I could easily get all of my pictures from my photo stream onto my computer.
In the default stream I have 558 photos. iPhoto will only sync about 400 of them. So I decided to create a shared photo stream and added all of the images from the main one into that one. However it will not add them to the stream at all.
It initially added them all, but as it syncs the number of photos in that stream keeps going down. It is down to about 200 at the time of writing this and it is still steadily deleting the photos.
Why will my photo stream not sync properly?

That's she way it works. See here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
    Relevant section:
When do photos upload to My Photo Stream?
When you enable My Photo Stream on your devices, all new photos you take or import to those devices will be automatically added to your photo stream.
iOS devices: New photos you take are automatically uploaded to your photo stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. My Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.
Macs: Any new photos you import to iPhoto or Aperture begin uploading automatically when you have a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Or you can change your iPhoto or Aperture preferences so that only photos you manually add to My Photo Stream are uploaded.
PC with iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later: Open a Windows Explorer window and under Favorites select iCloud Photos if you are using iCloud Control Panel 3.0 or later (or Photo Stream if you are using 2.1 to 2.1.3). Open My Photo Stream. Click the "Add photos" button. Select the photos to import to My Photo Stream, then click Open.
