TS3989 PhotoStream not downloading all photos

Hi, my iPad2 (iOS 5.1), located in China, is not downloading all photos on PhotoStream. I have about 430 photos but the iPad2 can only download about 200 then it stopped. The following factors are for your consideration:
1. The iPad2 in question is not low on battery (more than 80%), and is connected to Wifi. The problem has persisted for days now. I know there're 430 photos on the PhotoStream because on my iPad1 and iPhone 4S I can see 430 photos.
2. The iPad2 can successfully upload to PhotoStream photos taken from its camera. In fact, photos taken from its camera would even be downloaded as new photos in PhotoStream, yet still not all photos already on PhotoStream (uploaded by other devices) could be downloaded.
3. I have several other devices participating on PhotoStream with the same Apple ID - iPad1 (iOS 5.01), iPhone 4s (iOS 5.01) and PC (iCloudWindows version 1.1). In fact, the bulk of the photos on PhotoStream now are uploaded from the PC via the iCloud service for Windows. The iPad2 is the only one having trouble downloading all of the photos.
4. I have reset PhotoStream on the iPad2 once already. 10 days ago the PhotoStream download was stuck for 163 photos (over 400 total) for a couple days. So I've reset the PhotoStream and re-enabled. The download started again, but has stopped for a few days now at 220 photos.
5. Just one more background - the iPad2 as I mentioned is located in China. I bought one for my parents so we could use PhotoStream to share photos cross border easily.
Please help!!!

Nothing... I am waiting on a solution too.  I have the no "My Photo Stream" so no download location.

  • TS3989 Photostream not capturing all my photos

I have had an issue where sometimes a picture I take with my iPhone does not get uploaded to my photo stream. For example, I was at the zoo and took about 40 pictures. 2 of them never went to Photostream even though it is still on my phone.
Yesterday, I snapped another picture somewhere and it is still not on my photo stream (even though it remains on the phone).
My question is, is there something that causes this bug?
Also, is there any way to force a photo from the camera roll to Photostream so I can get the missing three photos in there?
    Thanks!

    Hi Winston,
Thanks for your answer. In case this works, this will help me only with the photos I've already taken, but I'll have to repeat this procedure everytime a single picture doesn't made it from the camera roll to the photo stream folder, which I don't think is the right way for the iCloud to work.
I was thinking maybe an OS version upgrade, but I've read the improves for the 5.1.0 and the 5.1.1 versions, and none of them mention the fix of this bug.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • New iPhone, Photostream Not Downloading All Pictures

I got a new iPhone and my photostream only downloaded some of the most recent photos, not all of them that were on my other phone. How can I get them all back on my phone?

    Hello thebiggfella,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you're seeing a different number of photos after enabling PhotoStream on your new iPhone compared to your other devices, then you are likely just seeing what is actually in your Photostream.  Your other devices are showing what is currently in Photostream, and the previously cached photos.
I see different photos in the Recently Added album or My Photo Stream album on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they're older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so your devices might not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream. Due to storage limitations, your Apple TV might display only your most recent photos.
Use these steps if you want to have the most current photos from My Photo Stream on each of your devices and delete the older photos:
If there are any photos in the Recently Added album (or the My Photo Stream album in iOS 7) that you want to keep, save them to your device, then back up your photos and other data using iCloud or iTunes.
Turn My Photo Stream off in Settings > iCloud > Photos.
Confirm that you want to Delete Photos.
Turn My Photo Stream back on. iCloud will automatically push your stored photos to your device.
Repeat these steps for each device.

  • Photo Stream on iPhone not downloading all photos? (iOS 5.1)

I have my Photo Stream filled up at 1000 photos. My iPad sees them all. My Mac sees them all. Even my Apple TV sees them all.
But for some reason, my iPhone only shows about 35 photos in my Photo Stream. I've disabled and then enabled photo stream several times. Even rebooted. I did a fresh install of iOS 5.1, and still, its only showing my last 35 photos in Photo Stream.
Is there any way to force an iPhone to re-download all 1000 photos in the Stream?
    Thanks!

I fixed this issue myself. Net: iPhoto is lying - the iPhone is telling the truth. All the photos iPhoto said were in my Photo Stream actually were not.
On my Mac, System Preferences -> iCloud, I unchecked Photo Stream, then signed out of iCloud. It asked me whether I wanted it to keep or delete my contacts and other things from the Mac - I told it to delete them.
iPhoto then showed me that the Photo Stream was empty, and asked if I wanted to turn it on. Instead, I logged back into iCloud on the System Preferences panel. Photo Stream was still unchecked, but I went back to iPhoto and now chose the option to turn on Photo Stream there. After a minute, I saw only the one photo I took yesterday (which was all I was seeing on my iPhone before). Nothing else was there. I dragged a bunch of photos from my iPhoto "Photos" library to the Photo Stream, and after a few minutes, they started showing up on my iPhone.
Message was edited by: jimbabka to make clear that it's iPhoto that's lying and the iPhone that's telling the truth

  • Photostream not syncing all photos

Photostream isn't showing all the photos I've taken.
I've updated to Lion, ran all software updates, enabled Photostream, etc. It shows up in iphoto (9.2.1), and  most of my shots are there, except for those taken in the last couple days.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

just disabled and then re-abled Photostream, and some more photos appeared, but still not all of them.
This is very odd, anyone have any ideas?

  • Photostream not adding all photos in stream to restored device

I have an iphone, ipad, and laptop. They all should have my full photostream on them. However, a while back my pc stopped updating the photostream so I tried the typical "uninstall/reinstall" thing and signed in and out of my icloud. That helped in adding the most recent photos on the stream, but now only the most recent show up, not the full stream. My main concern is my phone. I just restored it from an iCloud backup because it had been acting up. Now, while my cameral roll has all 800+ photos, my photo stream on my iphone only has the most recent 150.
I am avoiding reinstalling iTunes for whatever reason because then readding all my music will be a pain due to funky id3 tags.
Has anyone experienced this or found a way to flush the photo stream?

    Thanks for the detailed data!
I wonder if there is something different about the images that didn't move to the iPhone 4. I know I've had trouble with moving video to older devices (meaning: it won't appear correctly), so I wonder if the more limited hardware of the iPhone 4 is the cause of the missing photos? Do you notice anything different (HDR, large file size, photo burst, image stabilization, etc.) about the missing images?
As for the missing photo on your computer, that should not happen. Because Apple assumes computers have more storage than iDevices, all the photos taken by all your iDevices are supposed to show up under Photo Stream. If you did not delete the image from Photo Stream on any of your devices, then it should ultimately appear on your Mac. Unless, of course, the Mac is unable to handle the image—like the argument for the iPhone 4 (above). If the photo that is missing on the Mac is also missing on the iPhone 4, then insufficient hardware is looking likely. Or, corrupted data.
The "1,000 and 30 days" is actually closer to "1,000 or 30 days". Here is what Apple says about Photo Stream:
"The My Photo Stream album on each iOS device holds your last 1000 photos. You can delete any photos you don’t want from My Photo Stream, and you can keep photos permanently by saving them to your Camera Roll. iCloud stores new photos for 30 days to give you time to connect your iOS devices to Wi-Fi so they can automatically receive the new photos from iCloud."
    Important points:
    - Each iDevice has a limit of 1,000 photos on the Photo Stream album
    - New photos are stored for 30 days in iCloud
    - If you want to keep an image reliably on your device, save it to the Camera Roll
    - Apple only guarantees that you'll have 30 days to move each photo to its permanent home on your computer
Other things can affect what is displayed in Photo Stream. For example, if you sign out of iCloud, all the images are removed. I don't know what governs which images return when you turn on Photo Stream again (by signing into iCloud again).
In the end, Photo Stream is intended to be a convenient way to move new photos to additional iDevices and computers. It is not meant for viewing photos, and it is not meant for syncing photos across devices. There is no single canonical "stream" that can be viewed by a device. (Contrast this to Flickr.) Thus, it is not surprising that each device has a different Photo Stream.

  • Photostream not uploading all photos?

Had a problem with my iPhone 4s for a while now, but now it's become a bit more major! I find that not all the pictures I take are being uploaded to photo stream. First off it was only a couple, but after a recent trip I've noticed it's missing out around 100. I've done a search and made sure its connected to wifi, charged fully etc and ive left it over night but still nothing. I've reset photo stream on the device and turned it off and on again, yet still nothing.
It seems to have stopped at a certain point. Then when I tried it again when I got home, it picked up uploading them again. So it's missed out uploading photos from say 13:00 to 22:00 and then carried on after that point.

Me too. It is a real pain. Take 12 pictures outside, go back into wifi range and only 11 make it to photostream and the other devices.
I manage my photos on the mac with Google Picassa. I have an iPhone app called PhotoSync to pick up the ones that go missing. A painful workaround, but I does work.

Sorry this solution is late but I just got off of the phone with Apple support and this worked.
    Open iTunes
Connect your iPhone and keep it connected during this entire process.
In the iTunes menu at the very top (File, Edit, View) choose STORE> Sign in and sign into your iTunes account.
Once this is complete look at the upper right corner of iTunes and you will see an iPhone and Store button, cick STORE.  Now you will be in the iTunes store where you see the advertisements of the various albums, songs etc.  Look on your upper left of the window for your itunes account name and in the black band next to your iTunes account name, you will see a House icon, then Music, Movies, TV Shows etc.
Make sure the HOUSE icon is selected.
Stay on this screen in iTunes and on the lower RIGHT, you will see an area that says- QUICK LINKS.  In that area click - Purchased
After you do this you will be transported to another area of iTunes.  Here there will be a menu across the top- Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Books are the choices.
Choose APPS and you will see the apps that you have purchased.  You will also see the apps that didn't download to your phone.
Find the apps that didn't download and click the cloud next to their name.  Doing this will download the chosen apps to the computer you are on.
Once you have downloaded the apps in question, in the upper right corner click LIBRARY.
Now you should see the button that says iPhone because your phone is still plugged in.  Click the iPhone button and then click SYNC on the lower right to sync your iPhone.
The apps you downloaded will now be on your phone.
Sorry for the long instructions but this is what works.

  • Iphoto 11/Part of Ilife does not display all photos in "photos" or "events"

I am running latest version of everything, just loaded ILife. Iphoto 11 does not show "ALL" photos when I use "photo" or "event" view. It shows some....when I cycle down through the Blank images in these views, it will often show the pictures as I mouse click down.....but as soon as I take my finger off the mouse, everything (well, almost everything) reverts to blanks.
There is nothing selected to be hidden.
I have "Faces" set up and now when i look through an individual "Face" file, there will be intermittent Blanks.
    Very screwy, anybody Help????

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Aperture is not showing all photos in photo stream.

Aperture is not showing all photos in photo stream.  I have re-set photo stream from within the aperture app, but it only downloads a small fraction of my photo stream.  Any ideas?

Sorry but you're wrong, as the article that you quoted pointed out
Since your Mac has more storage than your iOS devices, your photos automatically download and your Mac keeps every photo from your Photo Stream by default

  • Can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5

I can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5. It always can sync some photos into 5. Then finish and prompts: "itunes can not synchronize (other)thousands of projects, and see more information in itunes".  That means most of my photos can not seen on Iphone 5, it seems just can't import to 5. Is that the problem of Iphone or the pictures in Aperture, or even just because lack of sufficient space?

  • IOS 8.1 Does Not Download All iCloud Mail/ Keeps Cache?

    Hello,
I have setup and enabled an iCloud e-mail account on all of my devices and was successfully able to use the Mail app in Mac OS X Yosemite to copy mail from my Yahoo! inbox to my iCloud inbox.  All e-mail copied from Yahoo! Mail appears in the OS X Yosemite Mail app as well as in the iCloud.com site, however, my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5 both running iOS 8.1 does not download all of the mail from iCloud.  I have tried the following on both iOS 8.1 devices with no success.
    - Disable iCloud mail and re-enable
    - Sign completely out of iCloud and sign in again, then reconfigure all iCloud services including mail
The result of both steps is that the incomplete list of e-mail in the iCloud inbox just reappears in the Mail app instead of downloading from iCloud again.  It looks like the incomplete list of e-mail is stored on the iOS device and signing out of or disabling iCloud mail just hides it; re-enabling or signing in merely shows it again.  This appears to work differently than my Yahoo! Mail configuration where if I sign out of or delete the Yahoo! account and reconfigure, iOS downloads a fresh copy of all e-mail in the inbox and all other folders.  Here are my two questions:
    - How do I get my iPhone and iPad Air 2 to download ALL e-mail from my iCloud mail account?
    - Are my suspicions true? Does iOS actually store a cached copy of iCloud mail on the device when the service is disabled and just "redisplays" it when re-enabled?
    Thanks!

I had the same problem. My iCloud it's a mess since the iOS 8.1 update.
Probably your iCloud isn't working too.

  • How to download 'all photos at a time' from shared stream?

I have a photo stream shared album (with 120 pictures) on icloud.  This is shared from iPhone.  I opened the link on my mac/windows in the browser.  Now, how to download 'all photos at a time' from shared stream?  I don't want to download each photo at a time.  There are 100s of photos to download.  I can't open one photo at a time and keep downloading them separately.  There should be a way to download all photos from a shared stream.  Please let me know how you are dealing with this?

  • Photo App does not display all photos

Running iOS 7.0.4 on an iPhone 4S. The new Photo App does not display all photos properly. All photos show up as thumbnails. However, when you tap on some of them, only a blank page is displayed. The rest is fine. This issue started after the upgrade to iOS 7. Is this a bug? Hardware-related?

Upon closer inspection it appears that the missing photos are in a folder called IPhoto Library.  This folder is greyed out when I choose the import folder.
When I use 'show package contents' it reveals the missing photos (below).  Why is my iphoto library so scrambled!  Thanks for any insight.
