Can I upload videos to Photo Stream?

Photo Stream IS NOT a backup. It will only show the last 1000 photos taken on your iPhone. And no, you cannot "upload" video to photo stream.
If you need to backup, use iTunes. Your videos will not be backed up, but they will be synched.

Can you share or view videos between devices or share with friends using photo stream or something else?

You can't currently share videos using iCloud but Apple announced that you will be able to share videos in iOS 7, to be released this fall.  In the mean time, you can use other cloud services such as Dropbox to share them, or share them with iMessage (if they're short enough).

Is there a way to get videos into the photo stream?

No, but you might try the app 'Video Stream for iCloud'

  • IPhoto not showing videos in Photo Stream

Does anyone know why I can't see my videos which have transferred from my iPhone to my computer via Photo Stream?

WTH is the difference between "my photo stream" and "iCloud Photo Sharing"?
"With iCloud Photo Sharing, you can share photos and videos with just the people you choose, and you can let them add their own photos, videos, and comments.
iCloud Photo Sharing adds new features to shared photo streams, including the ability to share videos and allow subscribers to contribute to your shared streams. These new features work with the following devices and software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 7
Mac using OS X v10.9 or later and either iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5
Apple TV with Apple TV software 6.0
Windows PC using Windows 7 or later and iCloud Control Panel 3.0 or later
If you are using earlier versions of iOS, iCloud Control Panel, iPhoto, or Aperture, you can still create and view shared photo streams. Learn more."

Sadly I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM as the OP.
I can share my iphone 4S videos with others via the Share option to icloud (it sends them an invite and they approve and then can view the videos) but I can't figure out how to use photo stream to get them to my Macbook Pro (yes, I can probably connect via itunes but thats not the point).
A little postscript, does anyone have the faintest idea how to read these support pages on the iphone without a magnifying glass?

  • How can I transfer videos in photo stream

How can I transfer videos in photo stream

You can't. They aren't stored in the photo stream.
HOWEVER! With third-party apps like PhotoSync ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photosync-wirelessly-transfers/id415850124?mt=8 ), you can easily back up / transfer your videos to / via Dropbox, Picasa/Google+, Facebook, SmugMug, 500px, Flickr, Box, Zenfolio, (S)FTP, WebDAV and Google Drive. (But, of course, NOT Apple's Photo Stream.)

Videos in a shared Photo Stream can only be streamed, they cannot be downloaded.

  • HT201317 how to recover deleted video from photo stream in icloud

I have deleted a video from my iphone 4 photo stream before it was syncd to my computer.  My photo stream is backed up to icloud. How can I recover the video I deleted?  Thanks you!

Photo stream doesn't upload videos, just photos.  If the video was in your camera roll when you last backed up your phone, restoring the entire backup should recover the video.
If you want to do this, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings (which will erase the phone), then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.

  • Import video from photo stream to iPhoto library

Hello, I'm trying to import a video from a friend's photo stream ( which I've subscribed to ) into iPhoto on my MacBook Pro.   The video doesn't show up in iPhoto shared , but the photo stream does as well as photos in the stream.   I've checked other photo streams with videos and I am able to import those.
The particular video I'm after is about 2 minutes long, was taken on a friends iPhone 4.   I'm able to see the video by subscribing my iPhone 5 to the photo stream, so I don't understand why it's not showing up in iPhoto on my MacBook Pro.
Should I have my friend re-send the video to her photo stream ?   Any other ideas ?
    MacOS 10.9.3
    iPhoto 9.5

    Thank you Winston!

  • Lost videos from photo stream

I backed up my iPhone 5 to iCloud before erasing all data and sending it in for repair. Now the phone is back and everything is restored properly using iTunes on my iMac except the videos from my camera roll are missing. How can I recover them? They are not shown in my iPhoto library.

I think what's confusing things here is the difference between backing up your device and photo stream.  When you back up your device, either to iCloud or to your computer using iTunes, it creates a backup file that can later be used to restore your data and settings, including your camera roll photos and videos.  You can't view anything in the backup, you can only restore it to your device to recover your data.  Also, your backup should be considered a permanent backup for your camera roll.  If you delete anything from the camera roll and continue backing up your device, the backup containing the deleted photos/videos will be overwritten by one that doesn't, and they will be lost.
Photo stream, on the other hand, streams photos to your other devices.  These photos are not backed up in iCloud; they only remain in iCloud for 30 days, giving your devices/computers enough time to download them.  They will remain on your devices until you delete them, but they only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  As you've noticed, My Photo Stream does not include videos.  Unlike My Photo Stream, shared streams can include short videos (5 min. or less) and will remain in iCloud indefinitely.  They still shouldn't be considered a backup for several reasons.  Photos in a shared stream are a lower resolution than the originals in the camera roll.  Also, at the present time you can't download videos from a shared stream on an iOS device; you can only stream them.
To back up your camera roll you should either import it to your computer using your usb cable as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, or use an alternative cloud service such as Dropbox.

  • TS3989 I have photo stream setup on iPhoto on my macbook pro and I just got 2 iPhones for my family and only one streams photos to iCloud photo stream.  Both iPhones have the same Apple ID and have Photo Stream turned on.  Shouldn't both iPhones stream ph

I have photo stream setup on iPhoto on my MacBook Pro and on 2 new iPhones that have the same AppleID as the MacBook Pro.  However only one iPhone will stream photos to iPhoto on the MacBook Pro.  All these devices were purchased in the last 2 weeks.  What setting is wrong?

Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • TS3989 only one photo stream I have shared is showing up on my macbook

I have an imac and a macbook pro. I'm logged into the same icloud account on each, and shared photo streams is on. On my macbook only one of the photo streams that I have shared with others shows up under the "My Photos" section. All of the streams I am subscribed to from others are there. All streams are vsiible on my ios devices (if that is even relevant.)
I only have shared photo streams enabled, (I don't use the My Photo Stream, as I don't want all of my pictures from my iphone on my computers).
Not sure if this is relavant, but just in case:
I have two user accounts set up on both macs. One for me, one for my wife. Our iPhoto drive is stored on an external hard drive so that we can both access it and when we are logged in have our own photo streams. (we have different icloud accounts). It  does show under "Web" in the left column two photo streams, but only the top one is actually clickable.

After I posted this request for help I found the discussion "Photostream is not syncing on my Windows 7 PC" which gave me some ideas.  The Photo Stream download to my 32-bit Windows 7 PC now seems to be working.
Yesterday I changed "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe" to XP SP3 compatibility mode then killed this process, which was running at 100% of one of my CPU cores. I also configured iCloud to download to a new "download" sub-folder of the default Photo Stream folder.
It isn't clear to me whether all of these actions were necessary to solve the problem but when I took a new photo this morning and checked the download folder a few hours later, there it was! Also, Downloader.exe is not running continuously as before - it seems to be a client application called by ApplePhotoStreams.exe only when there is something new to download.
