You are logged in to your iCloud account on your iMac, right?  If so then disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • Iphoto will not enable photo stream

My iPhoto will not enable Photo Stream.  All software is up to date and I have the latest version of iPhoto, in fact Photo Stream was working last week on my Mac.  Now all I get is the msg "iPhoto cannot enable Photo Stream".  Any thoughts ??

Hey dave2468, as you can tell by my original post, this problem surfaced several months ago and out of frustration for lack of an answer to the problem - I called Apple for support.  I was fully prepared to spend the $50 bucks to resolve this issue but fortunately didn't have to.  My problem did get resolved after about 1 &1/2 hours on the phone and the solution revolved around resetting my password for my account...can't tell you why other than ghost in the machine issue.  Yours may be different issue but wanted to let you know how this ultimately got resolved.  I have had no further issues relative to this problem since my phone consultation.  Best of luck - I know how frustrating these things can be. • I have iphone 5 and enabled photo streaming but its not uploading

I have iphone 5 and enabled photo streaming but its not uploading

    Howdy harsac,
I have a helpful article about troubleshooting Photo Stream. Named iCloud: Photo Stream troubleshooting it can be found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3989.
    I would recommend this section:
I don't see photos in Photo Stream on my iOS device.
    Check the following:
From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream, and make sure the slider is set to the ON position.
From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, make sure the slider is set to ON, and that your device is connected to a wireless network.
Ensure that Camera app is closed on the device where you took the photo. Photo Stream will not upload photos from an iOS device until the Camera app is closed.
Ensure your iOS device has not fallen below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, Photo Stream downloading and uploading are disabled when the battery reaches this threshold. Downloading and uploading will resume once you charge your device, and the battery charge is greater than 20%.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Can I disable photo stream from select devices that are connected to my iTunes account?

Hello,  I was wondering is there any way to do this because I have three iPads connected onto my account, one is in another country and one my parents own, but for my personal one, I would like to disable this feature so my pictures don't get uploaded. My parents like to see the photos being taken by family in another country and I would like those two devices connected only.

You can turn off photo stream on one device without effecting the others.  If you want to keep the photo stream photos on the device you are going to turn it off on, you will need to same them to your camera roll before doing so.  To do this open the my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud>Photos and turn off My Photo Stream.  This will delete the photo stream photos from this device, but not the others (and you already saved copies of these photos to your camera roll so they will still be on your device).
The other two iPads that are signed into your iCloud account with photo stream enabled will still be sharing the same photo stream but you will no longer see it, and your photos will no longer be added to the stream.  They can still share photos with you by adding them to a shared stream and inviting you as a subscriber (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).

  • Can't find photo stream on iPhoto

When I first had my iphone in September 2012, my photos were downloaded directly to my macbook through icloud.  Now, I can't seem to see the photos I took on my phone on my computer.  Does anyone know why it would stop working?  Do I need to update iphoto?

Here's what you need to use iCloud and Photo Stream:
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later
Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
PC with Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.1 or later
You can still use Photo Stream without Shared Photo Streams if your devices meet these requirements:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
PC with Windows 7 or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel v2.0 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.0 or later
The above is from this Apple document: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
If your MacBook meets these requirements then try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • TS3988 Can't access photo stream and icloud, despite having the right id/password

I can access icloud online, and on my macbook pro. But for some reason, I can't access my storage preferences (it says: Details not available), nor can I access photo stream. I get an error message that says:
Photos for the iCloud account “[email protected]” cannot be accessed. Review your account information in System Preferences.
    When I click on 'review'
I can also see my storage settings (after inputting my password), and everything is correct and up-to-date. Yet it won't load the storage details.
I also don't want to sign out, because I get messages telling me that everything on my mac will be deleted, and I don't want to lose anything.
    What now?

  • Error enabling photo stream "iphoto was unable to connect to Photo Stream"

Whenever I try to enable Photo Stream, it times out after awhile, and I get the following error: "iPhoto was unable to connect to Photo Stream." (see below [1]).  I "tcpdump" shows that the computer is trying to open connections to akamai (unrelated?) but not apple.  I am using iPhoto 9.2 build 626.
There is one oddity in this scenario : I have one iCloud account that I am trying to use between three computers.  I was able to register iPhoto on my mac book pro, but it is failing on my second.

Good catch, nifmus.  I'm kicking myself for not checking system.log earlier!   I have very similar messages in mine.
By any chance is your Library folder (or part of it) relocated to a separate disk?  Or your entire home folder?  I have part of my Library folder on a SSD for speed, but my home folder and some of the larger Library subdirectories are on a regular disk because they wouldn't fit on the small SSD.  It's all tied together with symbolic links, and without problems... until Photo Stream came along and didn't like it.
I knew that sandboxd was involved somehow, but your post prompted me to focus on it.  It's definitely the problem here.  I found the following sandbox profile file inside the iPhoto application bundle:
    /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Library/LoginItems/PhotoStreamAgent.app/Conten ts/Resources/PhotoStreamAgent.sb
Inside this file are a bunch of definitions to control what PhotoStreamAgent is allowed to do.  There are a bunch of lines under an allow-file-write* declaration which should allow PhotoStreamAgent to write to the above files listed in your log.  Lines such as:
           (home-regex #"/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement")
           (home-regex #"/Library/Preferences/com\.apple\.iLifeAssetManagement\.crash\.plist(\.[^/]+)? $")
And many others.  In my case, I suspect that the problem may be related to the fact that the final absolute path of those files may differ from what you'd get if you just substituted my home directory in for "home-regex" since I have stuff relocated around.  Although since I was able to get it working with a blank home directory, also put in place via a symbolic link (so the final path differs), I'm not 100% sure of this.
What I do know right now is that there is a quick "hack" that fixed it for me.  I don't like the hack and would strongly recommend against it, because it's likely to break the next time there's a software update for iPhoto.  But it works until I can find a permanent solution.
To make it work, I edited the above file and changed the second line from "(deny default)" to "(allow default)".  This, of course, defeats the whole purpose of the sandbox by allowing PhotoStreamAgent to do anything it wants, but it also allows stuff that is really supposed to be allowed but fails anyway for us.
If you want to try this, it helps to be familiar with the unix underpinnings of OS X.  There's probably a way to do it in the normal graphical user interface, but as a longtime unix guy, I just jumped to the command line and did a "sudo vi (that long filename)".  To do it via the gui method, you'll have to navigate to that folder in Finder (quickest way is to hit Cmd-Shift-G and copy/paste the path, or right-click iPhoto and "Show Package Contents", then drill down to the file), edit the file, save a copy (because you don't have permission to modify it), then copy the new version over the old (it will ask for an admin password).
Again, I don't recommend this because it's likely to break in the future and defeats the security that Apple intended with the sandbox, but it's a quick fix.  I'll continue to investigate as I have time, trying to find out precisely what's causing the failure with the default sandbox profile.

  • TS3989 Why aren't all the photos on my iPhone backing up to my iPad front iCloud?  Settings are on.

I back up my iPhone and iPad daily to iCloud but my iPad only stores pics taken with iPad.  None of the hundreds of photos on my iPhone are downloading to my iPad.  Why is that?

Welcome to the Apple Community 4doublen.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.
