TS3992 what does it mean that my iphone will no longer back up to my computer automatically when i sync with itunes?
What does it mean that "my iphone will no longer back up to my computer automatically when I sync with itunes", if I turn my icloud backup to "on"? This doesnt sound like something that will make things smoother? I just recently lost all my calendar events and I am hoping to recover them.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can either back up to iTunes or to iCloud, you you choose to back up to iCloud, back up to iTunes will be turned off. Personally, I'd always back up to iTunes unless there is a good reason not to you.

My iPhone will no longer back up to my computer automaticall when I sync with iTunes- why
Probably because you have elected to automatically back up to iCloud instead. You can still manually back up by clicking Back Up Now on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings, it just won't be automatic.

when using iCloud between mac and pad, what does this mean - "your iPad will no longer back up to your computer automatically when you sync with iTunes"
DONT WORRY EVERYONE, FOUND THE ANSWER I NEEDED FROM ANOTHER POSTING - THANK YOUWelcome to the Apple Community.
You don't need to do anything, you have chosen to back up to iCloud instead of iTunes.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

That is correct. You can still backup to iTunes manually. See:

What does it mean that MobileMe Mail is no longer available in iCloud, when you switch? What happens to all one's previous mail? How is/ is all ones mail transfered?
You may be able to re download past purchases, read here > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you delete purchases, they are no longer stored in iCloud. -

It states that it takes 24hrs for changes to come into effect. However, what does it mean that it may retain my review in the system indefinitely? So if I rate it 1 star by accident, and changed it to rate 5 stars, the 1 star rating is not removed?
Hi,
One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.

No. She needs to setup her own iTunes account and purchase her own iTunes media.

When I try to back up my Iphone, I get a message that My Iphone can not be backed up on my computer. My computer is authorized and I have been successful with this in the past. I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled the lastest version and the same problem occurs.
If you are running Tiger, you don't have time machine.
You need to get something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner (sorry, I don't have a handy link for CCC but you can Google it to get their site) to make a clone of your drive on the external and then do incremental backups. The free versions do a lot and you can upgrade to the full-service versions for small change if you need more. The one time I used SuperDuper! for cloning a volume it worked just fine.
(My backup application is the last PPC capable version of Retrospect, which does a credible job, or has over the past ten-twelve years.) -
What is the BEST way to delete an app on an iPhone 4S so it will NOT be added back when I sync with iTunes?
To completely remove an app and all of its data, do this: First delete the app on your phone, then in iTunes, under Library, click on Apps, right-click the app you want to delete & select delete, when prompted, move all files to trash, empty your trash. Connect your phone and sync. The app and all of its data will be gone.

IPhone 4s will not AUTOMATICALLY wi-fi sync with iTunes
I can manually Wi-Fi sync my iPhone 4s with iTunes without any problems (settings -> general -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync -> Sync Now.) The problem is that this is the only way that it will Wi-Fi sync. It will not automatically Wi-Fi sync with iTunes when I plug it in to power each night.
I'm running iTunes 10.5 on Lion, iPhone 4S. iPhone is set to backup to iCloud. It does backup to iCloud each night, just no iTunes sync.
Any ideas why it won't automatically Wi-Fi Sync to iTunes each night?I'm giving this a try to see if it fixes it: On my Mac under iTunes -> Preferences -> Devices, the box was checked for "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically." I'm hoping this fixes the problem.

I just Synced My iPhone 6 which had close to 2000 photos to a new computer (windows PC) and synced with iTunes. Now all my previous photos have been deleted which were there on my phone. Please suggest a way to recover those Photos . Thanks
P.S -I have not taken any backup of those photos. So please suggest any software or any other method. If those photos were part of the camera roll, they were part of the backup as well and you can restore from the latest backup you made on the old computer. After that transfer the photos to the new PC, follow this article: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Then sync again to the new one, which will erase the phone again.
You can also try to copy the backup folder from the old computer to the new one and see if the old backups get recognized, check this article to find the location on your PC:
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes
If the photos were not taken with the phone, your data is gone, photos you sync from iTunes to the phone are not included in the backup. -
My iPhone 6 plus will not automatically wi fi sync with iTunes 12 when attached to a power suppy
i can manually sync from phone or iTunes on MacBook but will not auto sync.
have latest versions of IOS8, OSX Yosemite and ITunes 12.Good day dexv,
There are three conditions that must be met in order for an iPhone to sync automatically over Wi-Fi. It sounds as if you have met one of them, can you check to see if the other two are met as well?
See this article -
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi - Apple Support
The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
