TS3999 Colors are randomly changing on my calendar. Is this a system issue?

Color on my calendar changed without my changing it and then migrated to all the computers I am using ical on. Is there something going on with ical as I lost a few postings on the calendar also after entering them.

Control Flow task colors are not changing in SSIS

Hi,
When I am running my SSIS package colors of "Control Flow" task are not changing from Yellow to Green or Yellow to Red however when I double click on dataflow task I found that colors are getting change for the components available inside dataflow
task. This mean only colors of my control flow task are not changing.
Can anyone help me with this issue. Because of this issue I am not able to find out whether any of my control flow task is running successfully or not espicially in case of "Execute SQL Task"

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can read it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

Font and font color are getting changed for SAP R/3 report in portal

Hai,
We are using ITS 6.2 patch 26 and EP 6.0.
When i run a SAP R/3 4.6C report in ITS 6.2, the report content are shown in Courier New font with blue color.
When i run the same report from portal, the report content are shown in Arial font with blackish blue color.
Can anyone tell why in portal the font attributes are getting changed and how to have the same font attributes in portal also.

Please go to System Administration -> Portal Display -> Themes.
You can change the font type , color and size from here and have to properly assign it to the Desktop for the users for which these font should be displayed .

The colors are no longer on my calendar, I have blank boxes where delete and other actions should be, and I can no longer check the little boxes to the left of emails but the star feature does work. How can I fix this?

The colors denoting my different calendars have disappeared.
To the right of "MAIL" I have blank boxes.
When I click on the boxes to the left of in box emails instead of a check mark, there is a straight line on the far left side of the box and the mark disappears as soon as you click on another entry.

You can control this from Mail Preferences on your computer. Open Mail, go to Preferences, and select Accounts.
Go to your MobileMe account and select Mailbox Behaviors. Next to Trash, select Store Deleted Messages on the Server.

TS3999 how can I change the DEFAULT calendar on my iCloud? I set it to Yahoo by mistake..

When I set up my iCloud calendar system, I did not know what "default" calendar to set and it set it to "Yahoo"
automatically. I would like to change that. Does anybdy know how?

Thank you. What I found in settings was that I could go to Yahoo (not iCloud) and "uncheck" the "calendar" option for that account. This allowed me to default to the calendar I wished to use, instead.

Colorizing a constantly changing image - how to release this properly?

Hello- I have done some searching on google and various forums but can't find a good answer for this. Hoping someone here can help. I'm assuming there has got to be a simple solution that I'm overlooking, but I've spent countless hours messing around with this and always get back to the same results....
I am using a custom UIView to take a snapshot of the current view and tint it with a color.
The tricky part is that the image changes every half second, whereas most people trying to do this out there are using static images from what I've seen.
The code performs the task correctly except that it continually allocates until memory runs out.
I have tried creating the custom UIView programmatically then as a property that I released, then I tried using IB ( and various combinations) in an attempt to stop the allocating... can't seem to stop it. Currently defined in IB and declared as a property.. released in -dealloc....
I have also tried using a separate image property and drawing or setting background to that in the custom view but to no avail.
If I comment out the line where I change the background image, no memory problems.....
Here's what I'm currently doing in the superview... the blendView object is sized and laid out in IB:
(code has been simplified for example purposes, and I've left in some commented out code showing other things I've tried)

Well, after countless hours of experimenting with allocs and releases I have determined that there must be a hidden alloc that you just can't do anything about whenever you set a UIView's background color to a pattern image.. even if you release the UIView..... oh well....
Funny thing is, upon re-visiting some earlier code you'll see commented out, I got it to work with no problems.
If anyone is curious, I went back to declaring a UIImage property, "theImage" in my BlendView class
I pass the snapshot to the image property and in the -drawRect method I went back to using the line:
[theImage drawInRect:rect];
I don't know why it was distorting and remaining static for updates when I first tried this line out, but it is now working perfectly with no extra allocs

Durations of clips are Randomly shifting - HELP

I normally work in Final Cut Pro, and needed to do a piece in iMovie due to the fact I'm traveling and do not have FCP on the computer I'm working on. I've been building a cut out of still images, 3 different songs, fades, transitions, etc. and as I move forward towards the end and add images, music all the work I've already done keeps shifting, the timing keeps changing, and I have to go back and re-time everything - this is ridiculous. Durations of clips in the beginning of the cut are RANDOMLY changing - I just don't understand, but it is doing it. Everytime a clip randomly changes - everything after it shifts. I have no choice, this is for a family event and I do not have the time to redo in FCP or keep re-timing this piece - is there any way to lock the picture to audio as I go?? I am working in the latest versions of iMovie/OSX, etc. - thank you.

One thought immediately comes to mind. When inserting a new transition are you sometimes changing the default duration of the transition in the Inspector? If so, make sure that the box entitled "Applies to all transitions" is NOT checked (ticked). If it is ticked, then all clips with transitions may have their duration changed (depending on the type of transition) due to the transition's length changing. Some transitions use extra frames from the clips when increasing the duration of the transition, for example, Cross Dissolve.

Mac bookpro color profile intermittleny changes.

My Mac book pro's color will randomly change to a blue tint (from Color LCD to either CIE RGB or ColorMatch). To fix it, i can go into the color profile and change it back there, but thats becoming a pain in the butt. Is there a way that this can be fixed? Maybe deleting the colour profiles that i do not need... thanks a lot, grant. sorry for the repost.

2 solutions for you:
1- In the system preferences-->Display-->choose the color tab, then select the profile you want then check the "Show profiles for this display only" option,
this will make all the other profiles disappear from the list.
2-go to HD-->Library-->preferences-->ByHost and delete: com.apple.preference.displays.(numbers).plist
then reboot.

Random changes when syncing

Since changing to Lion and iOS5, date/times for events are randomly changed during the syncing process. Events are no longer editable on my iPhone4. Notifications show duplicate references. Events are removed. None of these problems occurred before the upgrades. I've tried syncing with iCloud. I've tried syncing from my computer. Accuracy has been lost in all cases.
What should the preference setting be to insure an accurate sync from computer-to-iPhone?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

Colors are overblown and have a Yellow hue on an Asus Notebook

When using a photo editing program such as Photoshop or the editing function in ACDSee the colors in the photo are very oversaturated and have a yellow hue to them. It's only happening when using an editing program, when viewing them in the ACDSee viewer or Irfanview the colors are fine. Has anyone else seen this issue. It doesn't happen when using my desktop system, only on an Asus G75VX Notebook. I've updated the video drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't help.

Hi Chris, thanks for replying. It is set as the default Asus monitor, I have tried several profiles within Windows and Photshop but it doesn't fix the issue. Is ther any way to just turn off the color management within Photoshop? The color on the disply is very close to what the printer is printing so I don't really need color management.

What is Apple doing about supporting its clients with information on fixing the problem of colors changing on iCal?
Is this even on their radar?

This is actually not about the colors changing. The colors change but it's because the appointments are being assigned randomly (it seems) to another calender like, Home, Work, Birthday. If you uncheck the calender it will cause the events to disappear. Check the calender again and the events reappear.
I don't know how the other calenders got turned on and how they linked to only some events. If you click on Calender in the upper right you'll see what is checked. try unchecking and see if your appointments disappear. So for Apple, please correct this issue.

HT2513 Is it possible to change the color scheme of a Microsoft Exchange calendar in iCal?

My Exchange account is running 2007 version software. I tried Control+Click and Go To Info (like I do for my iCloud calendars), but the Info menu does not pop up. Any ideas why?

Make a Shape > Inspector > Graphic > Tinted Image Fill > Scale to fit > browse to image > click on the color patch to change the color to what you want
or
Drag in an image > overlay it with a Shape > select the color for the shape and change its Opacity
Shapes may have Gradient and Advanced Gradient (multiple colors) fills both linear and radial. Both are in the Graphic Inspector as is Opacity.

Why do drop shadows created in Illustrator CC randomly change their color mix?

Drop shadows that I've created in Illustrator CC will randomly change their color mix when they are different mixtures of cmyk black, usually after closing and opening again. For example, if the drop shadow is 75c 68m 67y 90k, the next time I open the file it will 20c 0m 0y 100k. This happens with many of my files, and has been going on for several months. Thanks.

Hey I found out from the developers that this is actually fixed in version 29 via Bug 965861. Try the pdf viewer in the next version of Firefox, this will take care of that gradient. :-) Cheers.

I called Apple and they said that they know about this problem. It's a problem with iCloud which their Engineers know about. (there was a new iCloud release, hence...) No ETA for a fix yet. I asked that this be escalated so Engineering doesn't put it at the bottom of their fix list. I talked to a Senior Advisor and mentioned to them to have QA check their regression tests as this has happened before to me (the problem just didn't take this long to resolve). I like to use green too for important stuff, so I've resorted to creating a new calendar using the normal calendar green for events going forward. They could have picked another color besides green to have this problem with and I wouldn't have been so upset. ;-)
