TS3999 Help request for Iphone 4S calendar that won't sync with Mac OS X

My I-Phone 4S (6.1.3) calendar changes won't sync with my MAC OS-X (10.8.2) after trying the Apple support suggestions.  Please provide your solutions if you have experience with this issue.  Thank you in advance.

You need to update your OS X software to v10.8.5.
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed.
On your Mac, make sure Calendars is selected in System Preferences > iCloud
Your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Calendars is switched ON.

  • Events created on my iPhone 5 calendar are no longer syncing with iCal.

Events created on my iPhone 5 calendar are no longer syncing with iCal on my Macbook Pro (Lion OSX). It works fine the other way around.
I can't understand why, and cannot find a solution. Please help!

You can no longer sync via iTunes. That method of sync was removed (and the 1000+ post thread is arguments over things tangientally related to that).
You need to sync via other means than iTunes, then.
One option is to use iCloud. If you sign into iCloud on all your devices, and then make sure your calendars are in the "iCloud" section on your devices, they should sync.
If you don't want to use iCloud, you could use Google calendars, they operate much the same way (but may be less reliable).
Or if you use Exchange for work, you could sync that way.
Or if none of those are acceptable, you could install OS X Server and set up the calendar server on your local network and use it to sync. This is fairly straightforward "for setting up a UNIX calendar server" but it's not trivial and beyond the scope of a forum post to explain it all

  • 2 songs that won't sync with iPhone 4

I have 2 "songs" in iTunes that won't sync with my iPhone 4. I say "songs" because they are 30-minute treadmill workout songs that I purchased a long time ago when I had a 3rd generation iPod Touch and used the old Nike+ system that required a sensor in my shoe as well as a tracker attached to the iPod. I think it was one of the first issues of the Nike+ system. Anyway, I purchased OK Go's Master the Treadmill and another Treadmill Training compilation. Both albums contained a 30+ minute voice-over track with the songs and guidance for running. Then, the individual songs were included for you to listen to without a guiided workout if you wanted. Since I've had my iPhone 4 (about a year now), I haven't been able to figure out how to get these 30-minute voice-over songs to sync (the individual songs sync fine). They appear in a "Workouts" folder in iTunes - I think that was linked up to Nike+, but I'm not actually sure where that folder came from. They play on iTunes, but no matter what I do, I can't get them to appear on my iPhone. I've tried adding them to a playlist, creating a new playlist, but nothing works. The songs don't show up anywhere on my iPhone. Can anyone help?
(I'm using iTunes 10.7.0.21 and iOS 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4)

I'm in the same boat. I have an original iPhone which has been working fine for years. Always updated contacts, always synced with my calendars and contacts. Now my iPhone has done a software update and I'm stuffed.
I can select the tick boxes to tell it to update contacts and calendars, then when the option to apply is selected it removes the ticks and starts to do a sync without actually updating anything.
Part way through is comes up with the error that iTunes cannot update because a sync session cannot be started. I've tried a hard reset of the phone, re-installing iTunes, deleting multiple calendars. I've tried everything I've had suggested. Apple won't offer any support when I rang because my phone is old. They'll willing sell me new phone ! ! ! !
I've trawled through nearly every web and forum I can. I've tried a multitude of so called fixes all to no avail.
Having been an avid supporter of the iphone/itunes and apple, I am now so pi**ed off with it.
    I've been trying solutions for 3 days ! ! !
And I STILL have no contacts or calendars on my phone.

  • IPhone 3GS calendar is no longer syncing with iCal

iPhone 3GS calendar is no longer syncing with iCal since upgrade to Lion. No issues prior to upgrade. Ideas?

I am having the same problem.  I have snow leopard and since I upgraded to itune 5.0, I have had nothing but problems.  In icloud, all of my events quadrupled which then caused all my ical events to do the same on my computer and phone. What a nightmare!  The apple support guy had never seen anything like it!  I have since cleaned up my calendar on both my phone and macbook, but now any event I add to my phone does not show up during sync.  I noticed that when I go into mail, contacts, calendars and then go into my gmail account, the calendar button is set to off. If i try to switch it on, I get a message asking what I would like to do with the local calendars on my phone.  I am afraid to do anything so I just cancel!  Any thoughts?  The calendar on my computer is current so I could always over write my phone during a sync--but still unsure.  Thanks

  • I have a different iPhone, and now it won't sync with my iTunes.

I have a different iPhone, and now it won't sync with my iTunes.

I had an iPhone 3GS, but my husband had a newer one, so he gave me his when he upgraded to the iPhone4. When we uploaded everything, it took it all except my music. Now when I try to download my music from iTunes, it will not sync with it.
    No error messages
It pops up the box where it asks if you want to view folders, download your pics, etc. There is nothing in the box about music (iTunes).
I have rebooted my phone and computer. Downloaded the lastest version of iTunes, Deauthorized and reauthorized the phone. Not sure what to do now.

Used Migration Assistant to import PC files. It created second user account that won't sync with iPad.  How do I merge accounts?

It's next to impossible to fully merge two accounts on a Mac easily.
This being said, though, please take a look at "The Great Pondini's" site where this specific issue is addressed.  There should be information here you can use to get things sorted out.

  • My iPhone calendar entries won't sync with my iCal using iTunes

    Hi,
For some odd reason my iPhone calendar entries will not sync with my iCal using the sync feature in iTunes.
The syncing of everything else seems to be working just fine but in the last couple of days ~ now the calendars won't sync.
Entries that I've made in iCal sync alright to my iPhone but not the other way around.....
Anyone out there got any suggestions???

First make sure you are entering the events on your phone to your Mac calendar and not some other calendar such as On My iPhone.  If you are, and they still won't sync, try resetting the SyncServices folder on your mac, as explained in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627, then try syncing your calendar again.  (If you are prompted when syncing your calendar, choose Merge.)

  • Ios8 - contact and calendar notes won't sync with Outlook

After the ios8 upgrade, I have found that any note in either a contact or a calendar entry made on my iphone 5 won't sync with my office Outlook account, nor will any changes made to notes in a Contact in Outlook, update on my phone.  All worked fine pre-ios 8.  Anyone have a solution - have tried deleting accounts, re-booting, etc?  Thanks

KB23978 should help you with the "calendar not installed" problem
As for removing the facebook calendar, just go into options > advanced > service books > find "Facebook [CICAL]" and delete it

  • Contacts, calendars, etc won't sync with iPhone v1

    Hi,
Although I am able to input my data into my iPhone v1 for my MobileMe/iCloud account, I cannot get the contacts, calendars and Safari favorites to sync.
Emails come in fine, but not the rest.
Being an first version iPhone, it cannot be updated beyond iOS 3.1.3, but MobileMe sync used to work in the past, so I wonder what's happening.
Phone has been restored several times, including from scratch (i.e.: Without restoring the backup data), and the MobileMe account has also been deleted and reconfigured several times, to no avail.
Does anyone have an advice or a workaround?
    Thanks,
    K.

  • Ipad/iphone shifts calendar times +1hr after syncing with Outlook or ical

    Hi,
I am having a problem when I sync my (PC) outlook calendar to my iphone(OS4.1) or ipad.(And my wife is having exactly the same problem when she syncs her iphone/ipad with her macbook pro (she uses ical/snow leopard)).
I live in a time zone that is GMT +3hrs. There is no summer time change here. Both devices are set to GMT +3Hrs with no summer time changes / daylight savings.
Every month I upload a calendar electronically to Outlook (from a program called Roster2Outlook) and occasionally enter some data into it manually on my PC and on my iphone/ipad.
    The problem is this:-
When I sync my PC with my iphone/ipad the times on the iphone/ipad are always 1 hour later than displayed on my calendar in outlook on my PC. I then have to modify the times on my iphone and take off 1hour. If I enter an event on my iphone it appears in my calendar in Outlook 1 hour earlier (after a sync).
I get several monthly changes to my schedule and then when I update my outlook calender and sync it to my iphone again, all the times appear 1Hr later on my iphone and have to be manually adjusted.
This may seem trivial, but when one event is added on one device and it shows up at a different time on another device, it gets very confussing, as you never know which time is correct in your calendar, as it depends on which device you entered it and whether you synced it or not! I am tearing my hair out.
I also sync my calandar to my ipad, which appears to be doing the same thing.
So, to cut a long story short, any idea's why this is happening and how to fix it? (Please don't tell me I have the wrong time zone set on a device - because I haven't - they are all on the same time zone!)
I did have an idea that I could "shift" the calendar that I electronically upload to Outlook back by 1 Hour, so that the times would be 1Hr wrong in outlook but correct on my iphone and ipad (the devices that I predominantly use) but this still doesn't solve the problem of it being a bodge!
Any ideas / solutions much appreciated. Anyone else having this problem?
    Please help!
    Cheers,
    i eye.

I figured out my iPad sync issue. First of all, I swore up and down I had all my time zone preferences set correctly in both google calendar and on my iPad. I was wrong.
There are two places in google calendar that can cause an issue:
    (1) Settings>Calendar Settings>General
    (2) Settings>Calendar Settings>Calendars>[Individual Calendar]
There are two places on the iPad to check:
    (1) Settings>General>Date & Time (however I think this might not do anything because.....)
    (2) Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Calendars>Time Zone Support (this was the elusive one for me)
But It's fixed now and I'm happy.

  • Bought iPhone 3G from friend -- WON'T SYNC WITH WINDOWS 7!!

PLEASE HELP! I have been having multiple problems. I recently purchased a 3G from a friend. I contacted AT&T and notified them of the sale. My phone is working find once I contacted them.
I have a new laptop (see specs below) and installed a new hard drive from Dell on it today. I reinstalled the latest version of iTunes (10.0.1.22). Windows 7 installed all of the drivers for the iPhone from Apple fine and recognizes the hardware.
I attempted to restore the iPhone to it's original settings with success and have the latest iPhone update installed (Version 4.1)
After restoring the iPhone I get two error messages. The first is a message that says that "the iPhone (USER NAME) cannot be synced because of an internal device error" and a second that says that "a folder was specified instead of a file." This was after trying multiple times. Prior to these messages I received error code 1621 and I can't find anything about that online. I have exhausted all my resources at this point.
I have attempted to install it by running as an administrator but to no avail. Any conversation on this matter would be helpful. I heard that I may need a new SIM card that is designed to be used specifically with the iPhone. Could this be my problem...my "internal device error" so to speak??

So, I just picked up the new SIM card from AT&T and I am currently restoring the phone with iTunes. I'm going to take you through my motions....
1.) When restore was complete the iPhone performed a self-restart (which is normal). Remember...using new hard drive, new SIM, USED iPhone (which person originally synced to a Mac).
2.) Selected to set-up as a new iPhone (which is what it will be for me). A back-up does exist, but I don't see how that is possible as I have never had a successful sync on this computer and prior to purchasing this iPhone from a friend I have never plugged up any iPhone to this computer at all (with the old hard drive or the new)! The screen on the iPhone currently shows the charge bar (battery) which is full for the most part.
3.) Prior to syncing as a new iPhone, I deselected all import contact, notes, etc. All selections say NONE. Also, I deslected the option to automatically import all applications.
4.) A bar comes up that simply states "Syncing IPhone" (Whatever happened to the old hourglass? At least you knew something was happening)! So far this is how the process has gone every time. The errors appear at the next step...BTW the iPhone screen does not say "Sync in Progress" which *****...probably means something is trash!!!
5.) It seems to be taking a really long time and I'm starting to get ******...somebody is lying to me...either Apple, Microsoft or Dell.
6.) Here's my wonderful error message: "The iPhone Mia @@$*&$ cannot be synced. An internal device error occurred. Now the iPhone screen says "sync in progress" and the display on iTunes (with error window still up) reads Syncing Mia &^*&&% and "starting Sync" just below that with the normal iTunes progress bar doing it's thing!!
7.) When I close the error window another one is behind it that reads "The iPhone Mia (^(&$%^ cannot be synced. The required file could not be found." Go figure. The iPhone still reads "Sync in Progress" but iTunes shows nothing happening. The capacity (on the lower portion of iTunes) reads exactly half of 4GB is available, but that's all screwy because it's capacity is 14.5 GB or something like that...
8.) After closing the second error window it begins backing up the iPhone. The iPhone itself goes back to the battery level (charging screen). After a while iTunes reads that iPhone sync is complete.
9.) Now my iPhone has been restored and there is no way to sync any data, music, contacts or anything to it. *****!!!!
    5.)

  • Calendar.app won't sync with Google calendar after Yosemite update

I recently clean installed Yosemite on my 11" Macbook Air and my Google calendar will not sync with Calendar.app. Everything else on my Google account syncs with no problem, but the calendar refuses. I tried with another google account and had the same problem. Unlinked and re-linked the account in question, same problem. Turned off 2-factor auth, same problem. Tried with CalDAV, doesn't work.
In Preferences > Internet Accounts > Google Account in Question, the box next to Calendars is unchecked by default. When checking it, I get a progress wheel that spins for a minute or so and then...nothing.
I'm out of troubleshooting steps. Is there something I'm missing here?

I'm having the exact same problem after clean install of Yosemite too.
Update: I followed the suggestion on this thread and it seemed to solve the problem.
really weird... i just temporary connected to my phone's Personal Hotspot instead of regular home wi-fi,
    and it started to sync!

  • IPhone 4 address book won't sync with MacBook Air

I've been Googlin' my butt off, and called support three times (in which they won't help me because they say it's an iPhone issue)... Anyway, just purchased a MacBook Air; and my iPhone contacts will not sync with the address book.
Any help would be amazing.  Thank you very much!

    Hey,
So I kept looking for another answer and found this answer in another thread:
"It is called "sync" for the reason it not called a transfer.  It wants and is designed to "sync" make each other match.  If it deleted all on the phone it is because you just had zero contacts in the address book on the computer (which on first sync is considered master copy).  If you put one dummy contact into address book on computer then try to sync it will see it needs to "merge" to get the sync process coordinated."
I tried it out and it worked.  I originally already had one contact in my address book, but it was me and apparently I don't count as a human being, so I added the dummy contact and it worked after I clicked 'Merge'. Hope it works for you too.

  • HELP! New TX & 6.2.2 won't sync with Yahoo! account. HELP!

For a few years now, I've been using a Palm Tungsten E2 Handheld and syncing my E2 with my Yahoo! PIM (calendar, contacts, memos, etc.) account using Yahoo!'s Intellisync function. Everything has worked smoothly, with only minor problems, for years (prior to the E2, I had a Zire). I recently purchased a Palm TX handheld upgrading from the E2. When I got this new Palm handheld, the software I was forced to install on my computer was Palm Desktop version 6.2.2. I went to Yahoo! to sync this new handheld with my Yahoo! PIM using Intellisync and noticed Yahoo! no longer uses Intellisync. They now have what they are calling Autosync. As instructed by Yahoo!, I un-installed the Intellisync program from my PC and installed Autosync. The very first time I tried to sync my TX with Yahoo! I got an error message telling me this version of the Palm OS (6.2.2) wasn't supported. Can anyone tell me what I do now? This is very frustrating. Yahoo! doesn't support it's Itellisync or Autosync (and you are warned about this when installing) and you get a form response telling you, basically, if you are having problems, get rid of it. I've looked around Yahoo! and Palm sites and can't find anyone with the same problem or a solution. I think I'm just out of luck until Yahoo! decides to support 6.2.2 and who knows if they are even aware of it. If anyone has any solutions, please let me know. My Yahoo! account is a little more important to me than my Palm and I'm really tempted to send it back for a refund and look for some other device that will support Yahoo!. I'd be grateful for any suggestions. This is just annoying me to no end. Thanks.
    Post relates to: Palm TX

OK. I'm happy to announce that almost a week after receiving my T|X, things are close to where I expected them to be.
First, let me thank HardBeatZ& for your assistance. I doubt I would have ever thought about using the disc that came with my E2 to pull me out of this mess.
But, that's exactly how it happened. I uninstalled both Yahoo!'s Autosync and 6.2.2. I found the disc (after a frustrating day of searching) and loaded 4.1.4. I then loaded Yahoo!'s Autosync.
It would take me an hour to write the trial and error period I went through at this point. Syncing the E2 with the desktop, figuring out that Yahoo!'s Autosync only syncs with Palm Desktop now instead of directly with the handheld, syncing the T|X with the desktop software then Yahoo!'s Autosync, duplicate and triple calendar entries, losing my entire To Do: list (which is quite lengthy) and getting it back by beaming it from the E2 to the T|X and...well, you get the idea. A lot of trial and error.
In the end though, things are about 90% back to where I need them to be. Getting the duplicate entries under control is the biggest annoyance but I've got my third-party apps, calendar, contacts, tasks, memos, etc. on the T|X now and, I must say, I'm starting to feel happy about the purchase (finally). Not having to guess where to place the stylus to hit buttons or write characters (on the defective E2) is the nicest thing.
Anyway, I got work to do but I wanted to come back here and thank you HardBeatZ&because I probably would have given up by now and sent it back. Glad I stuck with it. Now, this, of course doesn't mean I won't discover some new, frustrating problem tomorrow with the T|X but, for now, all is right in my world of handheld computing. And, at least, I learned a few things about syncing and the Palm Desktop that I didn't know before.
One problem I do see down the road is that cheap material the spine of the Palm cover is made out of is going to eventually tear just like that gray one did on the E2. I was thinking of reinforcing it with some electrical tape or some type of epoxy to strengthen it. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas how to keep that cover from breaking off? That gray one on the E2 was a joke for someone who uses their Palm several times a day like me. They should give you two. lol
OK. That's it. Thanks for reading and I'll stop by here more often to see if any of my experiences can be of some value to other's challenges.
    Take care ya'll.
    ~ Mike

I have a 5th generation iPod that will no longer sync with iTunes even though it is recognized in iTunes.

The message has nothing to do with iPhones or iDevices and makes no sense.
iDevices do not get authorized, computers do.
